This drama has an interesting story, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me after I finished watching…
To be very honest - after watching Love and Redemption, everything else pales in comparison. I can’t think objectively now, since I’m sort of still stuck in the black hole and can’t get out. >.< I think once I’m back to “normal” I’ll be able to give suggestions. Hehe ?
the only thing that regret me is i don't understand chinese! my eyes didn't too focus on the actors' faces because…
Yea that’s how I feelwhen I watch cdramas! I am rewatching Love and Redemption now and focusing more on the face the second time around! :) In my rewatch I tend to skip the scenes without the leads. :)
This drama was recommended to me by many. I've watched like seven episodes already and I'm yet to find anything…
For me, I actually couldn't catch many things that the characters were saying and referring to in the beginning of the drama. Personally, it was a lot of information to understand. Only later in the drama, it all clicked and it was amazing. And when I started rewatching it recently, it was a whole new experience. I was able to understand what they were saying fully.
I also understand that not everyone enjoys the same cup of tea, you might not be a part of the majority that loves this drama - or it may just grow on you slowly - and that is totally fine too! But the story, acting, production, casting, and especially the romance are very solid.
I'm curious, what do you usually look for in a drama? Maybe that can help us to share with you some interesting parts of the drama based on what you like.
Cheng Yi topped the Vlinkage artist media index for September! #2 place! Woo hoo! Crystal Yuan at #7! Don't know if someone shared this chart before. I couldn't hold my excitement! https://twitter.com/cnewsdevotee/status/1314659480563380224
I can’t believe in the novel, unlike in the drama, XJ got put into Mingxia cave at 10 years old instead of at…
Yea, that was surprising! I like how the drama adjusted the age and also provided a better reason to send her to the cave. Despite the differences, it's so neat to read the details in the novel that are hard to explain in a drama.
Yes yes, it gets better and better :) And all the side characters are really great and contribute to the story! I personally love the ML and FL moments, but many people also like the side characters so much. Later, the side character Tengshe provides much needed comic relief. Maybe the characters will grow on you as you give it another try!
This is the first Chinese historical I watched as a grown up. As a child, my parents always had some Chinese drama playing in the background that I barely could understand. I've watched this many years ago and fell in love with the characters and story. Cecilia's acting is so pretty. It took me some time to get used to the men's hairstyles. Other than that, I really enjoyed the drama and might rewatch it again in the future. (I saw the Korean version but didn't like it as much as the Chinese original.)
I enjoyed watching XPJ's character growth so much. Liu Hao Ran has this really fresh innocent and trustworthy vibe! They cast the right actor for this role! He is not conventionally handsome, but when he is styled correctly, oh boy, he is a dapper young fellow! He has a promising future for sure! I looved the scenes between XPJ and his father. The actor who played the father was AMAZING too! I do wish there was more romance though! Thoroughly enjoyed the drama! *BTW, I watched this before the 1st Nirvana drama.)
So, I have watched the first episode already and came here to read a synopsis and see the reviews. The synopsis…
I'm also still contemplating whether I should watch this or not. I started a portion of episode one and Cheng Yi's character is cute and so different from Love and Redemption. I loved Cheng Yi in Love and Redemption and can't imagine him with another woman yet! But, I've read that the acting is great here and that it's still worth watching.. ahhh... have you decided to give it a shot and how is it so far?
Hello fellow readers: Check the update! You won't be disappointed.
Just read Ch 2 over my lunch break. Wow, it's different from the drama! And it's interesting! As I'm reading, I can imagine the scenes with the characters from the drama. It's exciting!
