Tell me something how will they grow their powers and how will xz become powerful?? Like how it happens in the…
He gets stronger then his dad eventually but right now they're not even a tenth of the way through the book, even if the cut most of it out it'd be super unlikely that they will cram the whole book into 1 season. Expect at least 2, possibly 3.
I think if you've seen the donghua/anime or read the novels, you're probably likely going to be extremely disappointed…
Read the novel and I like it so far.... dramas don't have to be slavishly adherent to the plot points of the source material, they just should take the soul of the material and transpose it.
The only that feels off still is Tan San's character, everything else I'm liking. I don't dislike his character, there's just almost whiplash from how different he is
Hu Lie Na! Why is she tagging along? Random and unnecessary. She did nothing anyway. At this point I'm wondering…
Yeah I understand why they'd want to introduce her sooner but she doesn't seem to serve a purpose, wish they'd weaved her into the plot a bit better.
How she was handled in the novel always confused me, she just randomly pops up like a third of the way through the book and suddenly became a major side character, think it is better to have her pop up early but maybe not just so she can stand in the background and smirk
I was expecting that they would change the story from the original works all movie and drama adaption do it, so…
You can definitely see the outlines of how they're going to get there. Bunny girl and cat girl are pretty source material-accurate, I think the main people different from the source material are Tan San and Mu Bai and it seems pretty clear the next couple episodes are going to include them coming to terms with each other and becoming bros
Not sure what's up with Oscar but book Oscar was comic relief too, this is just a different type of comic relief, not too worried about it
The first episode was so good, but while watching the second episode I feel the characters are caricatures. I…
Her portrayal is very source material-accurate, probably the most source material-accurate character of the main cast, so I'd assume the actress was told to act this way.
i'm afraid this drama doesn't have level system element. it's impossible to exclude that part, isn't it? ( ・ั﹏・ั)…
Think they did it on purpose so that the characters don't have to constantly talk about what level they are, which is already a bit odd in the book but would be super annoying in a drama
Looks like they simplified the cultivation thing to just mostly be about getting the spirit rings to make it more TV-friendly
Does anybody know if the CCP has anything against depictions of organized religion? The leader of the spirit artists court (Wu Huan Dian) in the book has the title "Church Emperor" (Jiao Huan) but in the drama it's been converted to the much more neutral title "First Leader" (Tso Zhong), curious whether there was a reason for this change.
I guess technically they're more of a union like the AFL-CIO then they are like a church seeing how they don't really worship anything other then their own power but seems like a random change to make.

god, I'm fully invested in this show and I'm so scared that the season will end in a cliffhanger, since others…
At the rate they are going, it is highly improbable they will cover the whole first book's plot. There is a book series but the first book is the one focusing on Tan San, the rest have different protagonists (although in the same world and with overlapping characters) so there's no particular reason why they'd adapt past the first book. If it gets popular it might end up like a Novoland situation where there are spinoff shows based on the other books but they'd have a completely different set of characters.
I'd actually be a little surprised if they cover the first book in 2 seasons, there's a lot of material, would personally expect 3 seasons unless they cut out a lot of stuff. Just to give some perspective, as of episode 7 they are about 5% of the way through the book.
If it ends where I suspect it will then yes, there will likely be a cliffhanger
Well, to all the antis who gave Douluo a watch just to comment here, thanks for your view! Douluo has gotten above…
I think the Joy of Life drama was better then the book so definitely giving it a chance even though the difference in the protagonist character is even more jarring for this drama
I like it! I like it! Also, spoiler request for the fate of Tang Sang’s father.
In the book, he reappears later and teaches Tang San for a bit, then at some point he maims himself for complicated reasons. I'm still have a tenth of the book left but his dad is alive and kicking ass at that point.
There's no book in the novel, Tan San learned all of this stuff from his previous life and transmigrated to the Douluo world.
I think he tells Xiao Wu about all his other-world skills pretty quickly and it's not really a problem. He mostly tells people he found a book somewhere and learned the stuff. Nobody can learn his way of cultivation anyways because they'd have to start over from the beginning (Tan San started in the cradle).
Anybody else find it weird how Tan San and the Grandmaster look almost the same age? I guess the actors are technically 11 years apart in age but the Grandmaster actor looks pretty young for 40 and he's suppose to be like a surrogate father figure for Tan San
