First this is the best episode so far. Second Poom is rocking that velvet shirt with sparkly stripes. π€£πBoth…
I agree so much with you on Sol and Wut. They made my blood boil. The nonchalance they handled Joe's Body's death. Like let the guy morn his lost life! The whole "you shouldn't go to your own funeral" uhm, he totally should decide that for himself.
The problem I have with Sol is, that he always picks the fight. Be it confronting Ming underneath the stairs and the brawl that followed, or now in ep 9 in the bar. He never even once thinks about the consequences his actions will have for Joe. He claims he likes/loves/is better for Joe than Ming. But he didn't care when both of them threw punches at Joe, when he tried to break up their brawl, he just let him get hurt. He didn't care in the Bar either. There were reporters and the boss of his agency, all with the power to stop Joe's career right then and there. He and Ming are popular stars, they would be the ones being protected by the agency and Joe, as a small actor, would have been blamed as the reason for their fight. You can't tell me he thinks about Joe and his wellbeing, when he proves time and time again that the only thing he cares about his his own feelings and satisfaction. That does not make Ming any less of a red flag or any better, he was also involved in the first fight. But at least he really loves Joe and he learned from his mistakes (at least a little bit) and is now trying to do better. He also never gave up looking for Joe, always hoping he is still somewhere out there. That's why imo Sol is not a better choice than Ming either.
I totally get where you are coming from. His monologues were just so cringy π I always skipped them... thankfully…
I actually thought their first meeting was the most exciting thing that happens in the series... They become a couple very quickly, but it is very slow burn after that. They have this kind of courtship phase where they get to know each other and hype each other up for their jobs. Mixed in with more voice actors doing their thing and her singing, finding her way in the industry. I think you only missed out on something, if slow burn prim romance is your thing.
First of all heβs definitely not the green flag that everyone is talking aboutHeβs very sneakyAll of his obsession…
Yes, that scene where Ming and Sol were fighting was so not about Joe it was about their own hurt egos, because they saw the other as a rival. At the same time they did not care about Joe at all. I was screaming at my TV for them to stop hurting Joe π that's when I started to dislike Sol. The elevator scene where he didn't react to Joe2 was just the nail in the coffin for me. Ming felt it. Sol didn't.
I feel like Sol is forcing himself and his idea of love on Joe. Joe told him very directly he is not interested in him, yes, 2 years have gone by (for Sol, not for Joe!) and Joe got his heart broken my Ming but that still doesn't mean he is now ready to get into a relationship with Sol again. Maybe I'm overreacting, because it's just a preview, but the teasers for ep 9 makes it look like Sol is trying a bit too hard to get Joe to do what he wants. I just can't see that Sol is really in love with Joe. I think it's more that he likes the chase... I feel like he is not the green flag everyone thinks he is. It might just feel that way, because Ming is such a forest of red flags π
Maybe I have watched too many fine art restoration videos on yt and yes, I know Peem repainting his artwork is part of the plotline, but why didn't he try to restore his original painting? It doesn't look that damaged to me. Of course not everyone can have a hot table like Julian to flatten out their paintings again. But maybe try to re-stretch it and then remove the dirt with some cotton swabs/balls and then repaint the areas where paint was lost and et voila a finished painting... lol but I'm not complaining I love this series a lot. Especially ep 11 was sooo good. I can't wait for Wednesday!
There are a lot of reasons why this series has 16 Episodes: 1. Phum and Peem aren't almost together yet, they…
That happens to all of us every now and then. You can also try to skip all other couples and only watch Fang and Tan. They are lovely, I absolutely loved that they gave us their backstory. And I hope we get more from them! Tbh I was not a big fan of main couples first drama together, and their second one wasn't bad, their acting was much better, but I didn't really like the genre(s). So I'm happy that they now have a series with a plot that I like. In the end everything boils down to personal taste. π
Tan/ Fang couple are the CUTEST! I seriously can watch an hour episode of their storyline and not get bored..That…
There are a lot of reasons why this series has 16 Episodes: 1. Phum and Peem aren't almost together yet, they still have a lot of things to work through. 2. the amount of couples we are having is 4, so that would make it 4 Episodes per couple per average, which honestly isn't that much... (though Chain and Pun didn't have much progress yet, which brings me to #3:) 3. this is just a theory, so it might not happen, but maybe they added Chains and Pun love story at the end, since they had to reshoot all scenes with the character Pun, so it might have been easier to add it at the end. 4. giving the audience more fleshed out characters, we haven't seen everything that makes them them yet. I hope we get some backstory to Q and his circumstances, same with Phum and Fang. 5. Then add a bit more dates for all the couples to go on, on their own, separate from the rest. 6. some wild parent turning up and getting in between them, I can especially see that for Phum and Peem or Tan and Fang (since they share the same parent/in laws) I can still think of more reasons why there should be 16 episodes... because we are already at ep 9 and there is still so much to show us, for me it's more like "there are only 7 episodes left, how will they do it?" But these are just my feelings for this. I hope they don't go batshit crazy on the plot later on, which of course can happen. But I firmly believe there is enough things that are still not yet resolved, so I'm not really worried. I'm also really enjoying the series, making me want to see as much as I can get. So I guess, just see where it takes you, you know you can stop watching anytime you feel bored by it.
Fang is the definition of "Looks like a cinnamon role, could kill you". π I am pleasantly surprised by this series! I like all the couples. Especially PondPhuwin are killing it here. I also realised once again, that I just like dramas directed by New, he does something that just speaks to me.
I feel like I missed something, but what was in the Royal Edict by the Dowager Empress that she sent to the palace…
I think it was to give the Security Bureau the permission to take down the Priestess and to get Yanxi out of the Pavilion he was held in? At least that's how I interpreted it.
I really like ml actors acting!! This man can convey so many feelings with just a look in his eyes, a fluttering of his eyelids, the lowering of his head, the tremble of his hands, a smile on his lips... this is my first time watching drama with him and I'll definitely watch more dramas with him in the future.
This is one of the best period c dramas! It reminded me a lot of New Life Begins, with the empowering female theme, where a group of woman suddenly has to fend for their place in society and finds strength in each other, together they overcome tragedies and hardship with a happy end. I have never seen the main leads in any other drama before, but they nailed their roles here! Count me as a new fan of ZJY and HYT!! I'll try to watch other dramas with them. I hope both of them get casted in any other costume/period dramas. HYT would look good in one of the xianxia dramas! The only thing that frustrated me a bit was episode 38/39, watching the emperor being even more of an ass than in earlier episodes made me so angry! But the ending made up for those 2 episodes. I loved how the main leads constantly hugged, it was so soothing and romantic. Finally a drama where there are lots of hugs! I can't even remember if they had a kiss scene and I don't care, because them hugging all the time was so good. If you loved New Life Begins, give this a try you won't be disappointed, same the other way around, if you liked this and haven't seen New Life Begins please give it a try!
I'm so sad about Grandma π poor Grandma had to be left behind by the love of her life and died after being separated from him! Poor Grandpa too, they couldn't see each other again in this life. They should make a drama bout them and the empress dowager. π
Last few weeks I have been catching up with Zhou Yes dramas, also watching Story of Kunning Palace, where I found the ML, becoming an instant fan of him. So I was very happy to find out they have a drama together. It's not a bad drama, but sadly this drama wasn't what I imagined/hoped it to be... Maybe there were too many good looking male leads, all I wanted the fl to end up with... I guess reverse Harem is not my thing in regards to 2nd lead syndrome? But I definitely found some more actors to follow up with, that's one of the good things I take from watching this drama. I was also expecting a romance focused drama, but it's more slice of life? In the end I couldn't connect with it and just fast forwarded through the episodes, even skipping some episodes as a whole. My favourite episodes were 25 and 26. I'm just into the jealousy trope lol. All in all the actors were so good, the production too, so I'm sure someone who is looking for a drama that focuses more on scheming and planning and only a bit on romance this will be for them.
