I never gave up trying Mames shows, because I always had the hope I find a gem somewhere, and I found it today. This series is good! I like it a lot. The plot is interesting and I can't complain about the main leads acting. I liked Neua very much. What I found strange was that Pai and Sky said their wedding vows in english... didn't fit them at all and the english subs didn't even say the same. But it was nice to see their happy end.
You can watch it without watching anything else beforehand, since Fuse and Ana have their own story and you don't need to know anything about the other couples to understand it. But if you want to know more about the side couples, like Gun and Bar and also Vee and Mark that they mention a lot in the first few episodes, and have some backstory to how the friendship group of the engineers came together you can watch the En of Love (EoL) series, which contains 3 seasons of miniseries (3-4 episodes each): 1. EoL: Tossara (Gun/Bar), 2. EoL: Love Mechanics (Vee/Mark), 3. EoL: This is love Story (North/Param). They are all available on Youtube. Love Mechanics also got its own, longer series, as a result of its popularity. Fuse and Ana have a short moment there, but it's got nothing to do with this series, so you don't have to watch it beforehand.
Pros: 1. Main leads got rid of their braces after Love Mechanics, they looked like grown ups thanks to that 2. Them name-dropping Vee and Mark was so funny, they are my favourite couple, so I liked that 3. Kamphan, I feel like he was the only one who could act, they should give him a happy end too. Cons: Everything else; acting wasn't that great, the plot was a mess and seriously lacking, nothing was fleshed out or explained. I was thinking about dropping it after ep 1, but then I let the rest of it run in the background while playing candy crush lol.
Can you tell me where to watch uncut version of this drama πI just finished watching this but that was cut…
I watched it on YouTube on the official channel (Idolfactory), so I guess I also saw the cut version? I didn't even know there was an uncut version... You can try viki?
If I skipped episodes 1-7 and only watched ep 8 it would have been enough. I was confused throughout the whole series what is going on and who is who and what is their whole purpose? But ep 8 was good, because of their kiss and couple-y scenes.
If cringe had a face, it would be Toh π I just watched him get 'drunk' of a shitake?
I had the same feelings hahaha Billy is totally worth watching this series for! π I have not yet seen Be Mine Superstar, but since I got used to Toh I might not find it too bad now π
I love this series! It is funny and cute and romantic and heart warming. I am so happy to see Tay and New together again. I especially enjoyed Tays performance, he showed us his amazing talents once again. And I ejoyed the 2nd couple a lot too. I wish all the actors even more success in the future. Also finally a series where Sing isn't the bad guy hahaha when I saw him at the beginning I was a bit worried he would turn out to be a villain, but he wasn't. The only character that I didn't like was Achis aunt. She always put Achi down, never had a good word for him, she needed Karan to tell her that Achi isn't a clumsy fool. His mom also talked about him like that, which made me really sad. How do you expect him to become confident and be someone, when you're always telling him he can't do anything? That aside this series is definitely a 10/10.
I had the same issue and asked the same question. The answer is that Phaya overheard Tharn and Yai talking about…
Yea, I wish they would have talked about it at least for a moment? I feel like a lot of things happened in the background, that we didn't get to see but suddenly everyone knew about it... I would have liked the inspector to see it too!
only issue....when did Tharn tell Phaya about his visions?did i miss it? was it off screen?
I had the same issue and asked the same question. The answer is that Phaya overheard Tharn and Yai talking about his visions in ep 4 or 5 and after that he just knew. They never had a discussion about it.
unlike Thai, Viet, Filipino gay series, I find Japanese and Korean gay series, sometimes the actors arenβt really…
I agree with you, that if you're making a gay (romance) series you should be comfortable kissing somone from the same gender. I mean that's basically in the job description. But in the end, if they really have to cast someone who isn't up to it, then at least they should play with angles or the editing so they don't have to... I feel like this would be less disappointing than seeing them being uncomfortable. I also agree with testing chemistry. But I did think that the leads in this series had great chemistry, just not when kissing. So I wish they would have supported them in some kind of way, like with a workshop or talking them through the scene better? I guess it's also a directing thing.
Hi Guys since I am new to BL series. I have this question to ask. Why do BL actors have fixed partners. Are they…
In addition to what the other answer said, I think it could also have to do with the actors feeling comfortable with their fixed partner. They go through a lot of workshops together to work on their chemistry/acting as a couple, so they might prefer having the same partner for more than one series. I think it also might be a cultural thing, since there are also acting pairs in straight thai dramas that get casted for more than one drama together. Someone explained this in a comment to a thai drama I watched once, but I can't recall it completely.
I respect James' decision. Sometimes you have to make a difficult decision, but if it is what is best for yourself and your career it is right to do it. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad to not see them together in this series. But ultimately I was hyped about this series because of the concept and storyline. I am ok as long as this series gets made. And I am looking forward to Nets performance. Also I hope to see James fulfill his dream. I was never a big fan of this whole fan-service culture, never immersed myself in that kind of content either (though I sometimes do like bts/reaction videos of actors together or if they go to some event or else, but this whole "we have to act like a couple in public" is just too much), and I think it's good to have different acting partners to gain more experience. Like Ohm from gmmtv who never really had a "steady partner" but still had so many great series, let's normalise this too. So I hope we can all support this series, Net and James individually. I certainly will.
After finishing this now, I am glad I stuck with it. For Jao, Sky (I love these two sooo much!!), Neua, Daisy and Intouch. Although the last two only had very few scenes, they were so cute. In addition, the fun I had watching the later episodes trumped the cringe I felt at the beginning. But I also thought that the cringe got a teeny tiny bit better after Neua and Toh finally became a couple ... or did I just get used to it? I also like the message this conveyed, that even though someone is perceived as cringey and wackey, with strange collecting habits, they deserve love just like everyone else and that someone who is seemingly perfect like Neua is also just a simple person wanting to be loved. Even though we did not expect it, Toh was exactly Neuas type. And I love it for this. I think I would have missed something if I didn't give it a try.
