I hope they become emperor and empress, too. With the Heavenly Emperor death, along with Ying Yuan, there will be a power void in the three realms. It will be very irresponsible of them if they are to throw away everything for their own pleasure in that current situation.

Please not another one magic change like AoL where the drama made the main pairing let go of everything while in the novel they were literally ruling the demon realm.

If they are to let go of everything, then it will make this drama the same as others out there. It is always about ML of high status let go of everything for the FL that has lower status. It never about two people working together and accepting each other. This kind of trend in the end will teach the new generation that love to chase career to look on love with disdain.

At the final battle, Ying Yuan will sacrifice himself. Yan Dan saves his trace of primordial spirit and then "cared" or kind of feeding him using her true body inside the agarwood burner. The particular scene, I think happen when Ying Yuan "resurrected". Since he has not yet re-cultivated his godly powers, thus there is no mark on his forehead.

By the way, I believe it is not in mortal realm. I am sure I see the Gou Dan abode behind, thus they are in heavenly realm. I myself prefer they are not letting go everything and go merry in mortal realm in the end. Because it will degrade the moral of the story. Love and responsibility should go together. I wish both of them can compromise for each other, not one sided.

Yeah, last night is so intense at douban. Usually the increase of people coming there to discussion is around 200 - 500 people/day. But yesterday up to this hour I write this comment, the increase is about 10,000 people. I read lots of drama fans even force their husbands to rate the drama, too, hahahaha

I am sorry, but I cannot see any scene or Yan Dan inner monologue that can justify this. She said it herself in the ep 39 that she waited Ying Yuan to say something that Tang Zhou has said, that is letting go being immortal (which means let go the position of emperor, which means letting go the responsibility) and be with her. It was this very sentence that stroke me to the core.

People said that Yan Dan only want the attitude, she was not really wanted Ying Yuan to let go everything. I cannot accept this logic. Because nothing in the drama that support this.

It is actually pained me to be so annoyed toward Yan Dan. This FL character started up so promising. Finally we get a FL that is not a damsel in distress. But why oh why, the drama in the end gives us FL with little girl way of thinking?! Yes, I know, this means we will get character development and so. Still, we can only discuss up to what already aired. And I don't like what I currently see. I am not saying she is a garbage FL. But, I am saying I dislike this character.

I will not fault people who feel identified with Yan Dan plight and empathize with her. But, I personally cannot. Because in ep 39, Yan Dan shows something that very much against my own principal in love relationship.

Just check it. It is indeed low. But, from the very beginning I can see lots people rate it one star. The reasoning is the usual nonsense about novel vs drama. I will not worry about it. I read that this drama has lots of advertisement so in business POV, this is a successful drama. To hell with those haters.

She wanted more, not just acknowledgement. Do you think I will rant this much if that was the only thing she wanted? Had it the only thing she wanted, I would have ranted toward Ying Yuan instead. Yan Dan said it herself, that she waited the words that implied Ying Yuan would let go of his position (and along with it, his responsibility) for her. And that she chose to let go of this love because she could not take the fact she would be number 2 again if push come to shove.

I never said that I could not understand where Yan Dan coming from. People that replied to my post seemed to think that I didn't understand Yan Dan and thus trying to explain Yan Dan reasoning. I did and do understand. I get it why she acts like this, what is her mental condition and her wish. It is exactly because I understand, I am annoyed. It is the character setting that I am annoyed with. Yan Dan here is portrayed as little girl. She is selfish in a way. She takes Ying Yuan responsibility and importance toward three realms too lightly (please do not quote Yan Dan in the part 2 trailer. That one is the "wisen-up" version. That one, I like). In her mind, her love is important. She can not see farther than her own pain seeing reality is not as sweet as her dream.

At first, she was angry because Ying Yuan "misstook" her. Well, she was the very one that chose to go along with her sister lie. Ying Yuan understood her wish to protect her sister thus he stayed silent. But, deep inside, Yan Dan actually wished for Ying Yuan to just said point blank that he knew it was her, despite what her mouth had said. This was a little girl attitude.

Second, she literally shot Ying Yuan question about love in front of soldiers. While she well knew that you could die for falling in love in heaven (no need to say about how stupid the rule is. It is the context of the story. Rule is rule). It was akin asking Ying Yuan to die together with her. She only wanted answer, no matter the price was. If the one who would paid the price was only herself, then it would be fine. But here, she literally wanted to drag her beloved together with her. This also was little girl attitude. You can defend her by saying that she was mentally distraught at that time. But, people core character is tested exactly when they are mentally stretched.

Those two events above, added with the one in ep 39, just kind of shooting me to the core. I personally hate character that disregard other people interest in order to satisfy oneself desire. I am not specifically nitpicking Yan Dan here. I know this is a story of her growing up. That's why I said that the one I cannot accept is the "current" her.

As far as I know, it has connection with Ying Yuan parents. We will get to their background soon enough in the drama. Something about them cause the emperor to deem love is bad news for immortal

I disagree. In heaven, at first she said that she only wanted Ying Yuan to admit his love. But down the time, she said again that she wanted Ying Yuan to act on his love. Now, after even more time has passed, she finally said what she truly wanted: for Ying Yuan to choose her above his responsibility toward three realms. With this kind attitude, I cannot see she will satisfied with Ying Yuan said that he loved her but could not act on it.

Yes, I know the heavenly rule is stupid to ban love. But rule is rule. If anybody can just disregard the law because they don't like it, it will cause chaos. Rule can change, but not in an instant. Her daredevil personality is indeed cute and refreshing. But she lacks restraint and wisdom, which lead her to be willful.

Also, the rule of "eye for an eye" should never be applied to love. Because it will make your love conditional and tainted. Love should be given freely. You are free to disagree on this since this related to our personal believe.

In short, I do understand Yan Dan way of thinking. But I just don't like her way, thus my ranting. I know she will grow up later on. I am very very looking forward for it.

If only what you said is true, I would not be so annoyed toward her. I have no problem with her letting go her love. I stress here, it is with her reasoning that I have problem with. This is not a story where FL is not aware of the ML status and real identity. From the very beginning, she knew who is the man she loved and what he was embodied. It was very selfish of her of asking him to prioritize her over three realms. She kept repeating that in the course of the drama.

You are wrong when you are saying she doesn't want to be his stumbling block. It is her future self when she finally can accept him fully, himself with all his responsibility. But her current one?? No. She is indeed that stumbling block for Ying Yuan to do his responsibility toward three realms. It is as if she said: if you want to be with me, then you need to let go of your position and responsibility. I cannot reconcile with this way of thinking.

If she want to let go because she understand that she cannot be the woman that can support this kind of man with high responsibility, and making peace with both him and herself, I will be very much okay. Because it means she blames no one. Her attitude will be different from what we have seen in ep 39 if this is the case. Because she will reject him not with that kind of spite but with gentleness. It will be 2 people decide even though they love each other, they choose to not act on that love but the feeling shall remain dear.

Also, I know that she will change later on. And I will have different perception of her in the future. But right now, I just cannot "like" her action.

Yan Dan is one of those immature girls that say A but wish her man will know she means B. Sigh ..... Since she is very young in that point of time, it is understandable. But Ying Yuan has been living without romantic love for millenia. How does he know woman heart?

Ep 39, instead of making me sad, making me angry instead. Ooooh, so annoyed toward Yan Dan. I understand that she acts tough so that Tang Zhou will surrender. Part of it because she want to protect herself against another heartbreak. Literally understandable. But I cannot accept her reasoning, all about she will forever be number 2 in front of three realms and the like. I like .... please girl, just see clearly just who is the man that you love. Three realms depends on him. Do you really understand what your wish is??
