His performance as Mu Qing Yan is very very good. I am amazed. The expression and body language is perfect. Usually, actor fails in delivering correct body language, thus making their acting jarring. But ep 26 and 27 are so well executed

Based on trailer ep 34, we perhaps will get our wish.

There’s no proposal in the novel.
Based on trailer up to ep 34, I am liking this change already. The ending in the novel, even though plot detailed, lack emotional climax in my opinion

Creepy is the right word. I dislike Qi Yunke ever since the beginning. Dunno why, his vibes just wrong. His care to FL gives me ill feeling

I think part of it because Cai Zhao indecisiveness. Thus, Mu Qing Yan truly needs to resort to extreme tactics to "force" Cai Zhao to be with him. Not to mention they are in different camp. We can agree that Mu Qing Yan is so manipulative, but without him being like this, pretty sure they will never be together.

I wish the drama will change a bit of the end also. Perhaps make Mu Qing Yan in death door or something, to let Cai Zhao truly taste what it feels to lose him. In the novel, I think Mu Qing Yan injuries in the end are not really detailed and lack severity.

When will the frustrating episodes are done. Base on all the trailers shown it didn’t end soon 🙄
Based on the novel, the frustration will go on until the very final arc. That is where FL will finally choose firmly. Well, since at that time, everything with the "righteous sects" go to shamble, it is quite easy for her to choose by then.

For all the shit this drama has gotten, it has actually managed to execute well the characterisation of the ML…
This comment is GOLD!
Completely agree with your analysis. Mu Qing Yan childhood experiences does not allow him to think like normal; he is very extreme. But again even though I can understand Cai Zhao point of view, her indecisiveness is annoying. She always backtracks once she sees Mu Qing Yan is well enough the be left alone. Somehow, she only truly goes to him during trouble.

Finally catches up to the latest update. My blood boils everytime I see those 6-sect leaders. And I feel so suffocated when Qi Yunke advises Cai Zhao about Mu Qing Yan. Dunno why, but his care seems so excessive and tiresome. If I was Cai Zhao, I will try to end the conversation ASAP due being so uncomfortable

Agree with you here. She is somehow jarring existence in this drama. I cannot understand why Su Mu Yu is attracted to her. I can see Bai He Huai likes Su Mu Yu at the first sight. But, Su Mu Yu?? I just feel that this romance is forced just so we have some romance.

Title Kill to Love
Aaaaaah, they really said let's go with 'EVERYTHING IS BEAUITFUL & EVERYTHING HURTS' for the ending. lol But…
Exactly my thought. I can understand that Shuhe feels guilty of loving Duan Ziang. But, the one that killed his father actually his own brother (that also in his way of killing Shuhe). And this same brother also killed Duan Ziang's brother (Jibei Crown Prince). I don't really like that in the drama Shuhe acted as if all of this is Duan Ziang fault. And his insistence to defense Shuqian annoyed me. Hello, your brother killed your father and wanted to kill you!

Title Kill to Love
The drama is supported by the main couple chemistry. Story wise, there are a couple of loopholes in it. I don't really like how this drama paints Nanhui to be blameless and put all sin on Jibei. In the beginning, it was Nanhui King that ordered his trusted General Duan to be killed. Until the end this act of betrayal by Nanhui King was never addressed.

I can undertand Shuhe hesitation of giving himself fully to Ziang, but his reasoning tires me. It was his Crown Prince brother that killed their father. Either way, Shuqian deserved to die for that patricide. And Shuqian was on his way of committing fratricide also. We need to remember that Shuqian killed Ziang brother, too. Truth is there is blood feud between them, but it comes from both of them.

It is quite fun reading them curse the director and screenwriter, hahahahaha. No political correctness at all, just scolding up to their heart content. For this drama, the comments are mainly positive. It is just less people watch it.

They want fresh story I think. We need to remember they have read a lots and lots of novel with this genre for years, hahahaha. And also the novel fans are not that forgiving toward faulty adaptation. Especially when the adaptation, in their eyes, make the story worse. They are also very critical toward whether the actor/actress looks good in costume drama.

As I see it, more and more people start to watch this drama. But it is not a big hit. Not a flop. But not a hit also.

As I see it, Chinese people is really critical toward their own drama. When I read their comments, I actually amaze for their detailed observation that I miss. They have more experience in watching this kind of drama.

From the bits I read, it seems this kind of story is quite common for them. So majority just chose to skip it. And also huge deviation from original source perhaps also a factor. I hope the drama can have long tail though.

Fortunately, Moonlight Mystique started this year quite good. But, somehow I see that it is not that big hit in China. Better than The Blossoming Love, though.

Sigh. As someone who was looking forwards to the story of Tianqi and Yuemi since Ancient Love Poetry, this drama…
I understand your feeling. Had a bad experience with Douluo Continent and Fight Break Sphere that kind of completely butchering the original. I also hoped for something still resemble the original when I started watching this drama. But, in the end the drama is quite good as its own. The CGI, costume, and make up also very good. And I endure until the end since I love Fan Yue characterization. The different naming is helping quite a bit, hahahahaha.
