The fl did pretty well read the novel or watch PA. She portrayed Chu Qiao excellently. Chu Qiao is stand-offish…
You literally told me to watch PA… what for if not to compare???
Besides, stating my opinion is not rage baiting. Don’t take every review so personal- you are not the focus and aim of every single post around here. Chill!
The intro/outro sucks. The FL is hard to watch but what else is there to expect from a highschooler next to far more experienced actors? Never mind the age gap, this is a painful skill gap.
And while I can handwave plot armor, at least don’t put the injury where it would be hard to survive even with modern medicine?
Li Yunrui deserved better. Maybe the drama will find its stride later on!
Why do they go back to the grandpa? Nothing changes, they are still depending on his whims, still under his control and still one tantrum from the old man away from sitting on the streets with just their clothes on their back. Sure, he is willing to throw money at them for now- he probably realised grandson #3 was useless for the business and wanted his money maker back. But he is the one holding the accounts, they own nothing. Now, they neither own their pride nor dignity.
At the very least, he had an unhealthy relationship with food before he started this. No one goes from healthy eating to starvation- and not even considering gym to retain his muscles? No hiring a professional to guide him through this? No protein shakes, no multivitamins? Just straight to throwing up? This screams eating disorder, not method acting.
WTF was this episode?? I was traumatized just watching the wedding and Pai just shakes it off when Tim goes forced proximity AND forces kisses on him moments after his (professional) life was destroyed??? Make it make sense. He was ready to murder Yu but with Tim it is nbd? And Yu wasn’t even seeing other people on the side. I mean at least he was a monogamous scammer! Pai lost face, his family lost face in front of friends and business partners, his trust in people surely took a hit- and yet Tim dares to show up like they just had a little disagreement. And Pai feels sorry for him because he has some bruises? I can’t even with this script.
Lol, the moment he rented a house and a mom, he was on the road to deception. He didn't do any of that because…
Well, yeah, I know there a couples/people like that with secret bank accounts on the side- but a guy like North scams himself out of his money. If a friend told him to invest in their harebrained new business, he would do so AND buy the guy a consolation price once the thing tanked. I guess I am taking Yu and North at face value. Yu isn’t an evil mastermind and this isn’t that kinda show anyways. As a gritty KDrama, your version would be fun though.

He was a scammer before and may or may not have used the place before to do so. But he is not scamming North- North loves him already and married him. He reached his goal and all he had to do was take a walk in a park. He loves North and I guess locked in for his happily ever after. Helping Tim is gross, though, and I can’t see how they can move past that. He should protect his in-law, not help Tim along. Actually, I kinda forgot his pact with Tim. That one IS bad.
Yu didn‘t scam North, though? North didn‘t really care to find out about his past/family before marriage. At best, Yu tried to keep his criminal mom from him- which he still managed, even after everything blew up. Like, why did no one bother to ask why he felt he needed to rent a house and what the deal with his mom was?
So North is a virgin? Yu was willing to go all out for his meal ticket or is already really attracted to North?
Called the mom stealing his money the moment he invited her back to his place. She will cause so much trouble for him! I bet she will try to get her hook into North/his grandpa as well.
North handed over almost 9 million$ as dowry?! That is seriously unhinged. I am curious if he will handle all his problems like that, by throwing money at them. How old is he supposed to be?
But she knew who she was really marrying and she agreed with it.
Isn’t it because concubines didn‘t get a proper wedding? They were just kinda taken in, agreement in place. The ceremony was for the main wife. At least that is what I remember from CDramas. If they go full blown fantasy with the body swap, maybe her status is elevated because she saves the king? So she can marry the ML anyways.
I doubt the SML can turn into a genuinely nice guy. He and FL share a similar birth situation but they grew up…
He is trying to push the 2FL away because he wants love and doesn’t care to be sent off as breeding stock to benefit his father. Right now he is a grown man acting like a three year old throwing a tantrum. He does feel sorry for the fate planned for FL, he just has a stupid way of showing it. 2FL looks for other men because 2ML has not given her a single reason to fall in love with him. He needs to step up his game and because this series is what it is, I bet you they get their HE too. (Love your icon btw)
FL and 2ML kinda have the same situation, noblemen fathers and a slave/a gisaeng as a mother respectively. 2ML grew up more provileged but way less loved. And so their outlook on life came to differ- she with a pragmatic outlook on life, hoping to ease her mothers burden, he with a yearning for love but only contributing to the suffering of those around him. I guess the 2FL is going to fit him well once he gets his head out of his ass, given how she grew up without parents herself. Their drama will be his scandalous lineage and her finding emancipation. And the ML is probably going to rewrite history to give those with lesser standing more rights? Or his lovestory with FL is going to be depressing.

But the bio mom is going to be back to cause trouble, isn’t she?
