Psycho But It's Not Okay

this is ridiculous! honestly this is not makjang, this is psychopathicness................................ and like it's not a "I don't believe this" but this is just taking the most extreme idea and acting as if it's "original" or "revolutionary".

everyone is crazy, everyone is a psychopath and everyone is a self centered entitled brat, not just the kids EVERYONE.
I hate that I'm dropping this because the actors are amazing, and most of them are my favorites, but this just makes my blood boil...

honestly I was laughing so hard, and I was rolling my eyes every 2 seconds..

1- I said if Seol Ah turns out to be Soo Ryun's daughter I'd drop it and guess what... (and that's my point, the 1st most ridiculous crazy idea comes to mind and that's what the writer used. that's just basic) that's what they're implying and I don't even want to see them "shock" the viewers ;/
2- Seo Jin is a psychopath, she doesn't just want to win, she wants to make her competitors suffer.
3- Dan Tae is a psychopath, that scene where he hired gangsters and killed Soo Ryun's husband in a dramatic way was just so infuriatingly ridiculous. but he also proceeds to cut his finger and KEEP IT.
4- Yoon Hee is a victim but she, just like her daughter and seol ah, fuels the fires of those psychopaths. like yes she had to be angry but to threaten seo jin to the point she slashed her throat? that's crazy on both ends
5- one 15 year old against a gang load of crazy psychopathic rich people... honestly she messed with the wrong bunch and she pretends that they're out to get her;
A- she fakes her identity and pokes the crazy cubs.
B- she takes pictures of the 2 psychopaths having an affair
C- she wins against yoon hee's victim mentality and her daughter
D- she literally threw a match on the already angry and crazy bunch and she exposes the kids bullying (like girl you should've just went to the cops and the newspapers. sold the exclusive, got money and went to France to sing real opera)
F- she walks with her own two 15 YEAR old feets to the enemies' lair and she gets kidnapped. then killed...

6- non of the middle schoolers looked 15, they looked 20 as they were ;/ honestly is it so hard to cast actual 15 year olds ;/
7- yoon hee literally was ready to KILL a 15 year old for a spot in a highschool! like just save your money and move to France! she should've moved 15 years ago tbh, no one there would've cared that she lost ONE award. (which she makes it sound like that ruined her life, no it was your threats against a psychopath)
8- everyone else is just as crazy and self conscious, you'd think money would make them happy ;/
9- the 1st weeks eps were almost 2 hours!
10- in sky castle the kids were mostly ok, and the characters were driven by their pasts. and for world of the married it was a revenge story about a cheating husband and the clueless wife (though the 2nd half and ending did reach the overboard makjang) but this, this was purely made for "how crazy can it get" and koreans love that but it just makes me role my eyes and compare it to The 100 which is a dystopian story xD
11- bae rona is crazy, she lost 1 competition and she was about to slash her throat! yes talent matters, but you can't always win, and you certainly need to know your battles.. again like there aren't 2 opera people in the world, she should've looked for someone else but no she blames her mom ;/ smh it is the mom's fault she didn't raise her right..
12- honestly opera is not a rich people hobby, they can't buy vocals with money and honestly buying people's opinion doesn't matter once everyone sees they have no talent, they literally had no reason for all of them to peruse opera. they could've just chose classical music.
13- the kids didn't need to be 15. they could've been 18 year olds fighting to enter their top 3 universities, were they afraid becasue the top3 were called SKY xD
14- two 40+ year olds literally kidnapped and possibly killed a 15 year old ;/

the good, that are sad becasue I'm dropping this
1- I honestly LOVE the actresses here, I've been waiting for Lee Ji Ah since Ghost Detective, Kim So Yeon since Mother Of Mine and this was my 1st time seeing Rohee's mom Eugene and they are all such amazing actresses!
2- the setting, the outfits, the makeup, the visuals are all so beautiful
3- this was my most anticipated drama ever since I heard about the castings ;(

this saddens me more than hating When I was The Prettiest and Alice becasue I expected something beautiful and amazing ;(
I actually love opera and the ost were nice but I can't take that plot

this drama was solely being carried by Lee Yoo Ri and it had nothing else. I hoped for a makjang like secret or mask, but beside the initial melo it just became a family drama, 80% of it was light romcom between the mains and bonding between Eun Soo and Woo Joo with 10% filler scene with the ml's sister -which I won't lie I didn't watch any of it- then 5% is the super convenient "connections", 2nd ml is 1st fl's childhood friend, 2nd fl is 1st ml's ex, 2nd fl and 2nd ml work together, and both are jealous of the mains ;/ and the last 5% is the actual murder mystery and makjang, and that was it.

they should've just made this into a romcom, Kang Ji Min is a really sweet ml who never snooped or judged which is refreshing but it takes away the spice of makjangs, and woojoo was an adorable baby girl. Lee Il Hwa is also great in here but tbh as an evil mother in law she only needed 1 DNA test to prove the relationship between the fl and her daughter, so like it didn't need 7eps for her to find out but atleast it's better than alice and the detective not having a DNA test on his mom's look alike ;/

I’m not in this for the angst so I’m not gonna lie after the first half, it became a snooze

She’s so frustrating that she doesn’t see his intentions

And he’s tooo cute man I can’t take it, when she’s talking about her likes and dislikes and he’s just so invested that he was like yeah write it all down and give it to me, the dude is the greenest flag

before the synopsis change, and not reading it, ie not knowing this will be a cliche childhood connection, I had fun thinking it's an anti cliche, 2ml is the childhood connection and ml/fl loved each other as normal adults...

but If she’s 30, and he's 36, so as kids, it doesn't make sense for him to not forget a literal baby, if he was 12 and she was 6...
he was 16, she was 10... sure his life didn't revolved around love so he never dated, and he liked her again as a new person and he was happier she was the same kid
but she never forgot him, and again tho she liked him back as an adult and didn't know the truth till the end, but boom instead of more getting to know one another she was satisfied that was him

so things went down with that revelation, and 2ml became a creep that watched kids shows..

tho I am happy in small ways, they did become interested in each other just because, and their "dating" stage began before she knew he was the one she obsessively was looking for
and no matter the "destiny", I wished it wasn't such a big force in the plot, but otherwise they didn't have much plot and it's one draggy plot

Like I don’t understand how this annoyingly over aegyo fl unfit for her 30year old self, finally finally not only finds her creepy childhood crush, but also that adorable natural aegyo ml who she age shames for being older than her, and she doesn’t jump up at him and act double the cheesy aegyo together? Cuz now she’s too busy with work??
how did she never go around hugging him like dang girl was acting like she’s too good for him

Plot done to death, just kill love triangles and focus on friendship stories T_T

Sassy go go, school 2017, age of youth, my comparisons and my hopes. Sadly it's too much like the 1st two and nothing like the 3rd one

This is cute and she is one of the rare cutie, she's social and fun loving so her bubbly personality makes sense and her past trauma doesn't make her jaded or self pitying. But the story doesn't do anything me
The ml feels bland, I'm glad his getting more recognition but he has no depth, he just feels like the neighborhood's sunbae
Atleast the uni and club stuff should make me nostalgic but I don't connect. The dance doesn't seem to have any purpose

Maybe back in 2016 I'd have liked it more. I compared this to sassy go go tho tho I don't know know if I'd like that either now🤣 I also would've hoped for a age of youth type of friendship but tbh the love triangle and the romance ruins the potential of it being a fun slice of life experience even like school 2017

cdramas are too long for their own good, I love the "go inside a story" theme, i loved how they played in in certain eps, from her "constant dying stages", to the story "pulling them around"
and i love the aesthetics

but certain eps are just mindless talking, as a kdrama watcher, 16eps are a drag, only a few deserve real 20eps, and lately 12eps are also pushing it
it's a sad reality, a good writing can fix anything, but these days people sell a plot which sounds great, they get the ep count, but they don't know how to fill it so usually flat side characters and mindless talks/actions to waste time
but they're too cute and i think this is the only time I can watch and stay through a cdrama xD

This revolves so much on the cheating, and everything just happens to go wrong for the one who didn’t cheat
they had amazing actors, but storywise it's just another repetition of "unfortunate fl"

Honestly not telling the other husband and going to the mistress’s house like that? Crazy

It’s funny that finally a kdrama has two good husbands, but as a process it’s so annoying and cliche, it’s like even the throw water scene was exactly like avengers social club
But this in no way reaches its lvl

Kim taeri’s acting was 1000000/10
The last two eps and maybe the first two were really great, if this was shorter it’d have been a 10/10

But the overall pace of this was sloppy, they took many circles around one subject, maybe it’d have been better if they went after different ghosts connected to that final boss
Like she killed someone and that person turned into a neighborhood ghost..
Mainly the couple of eps before this felt really draggy

But anyway KTR and her whole embodiment of that person ghost was honestly SO ON POINT

overall, it was a nice easy watch.. I think it's because I've seen too many good guy/bad guy dues fighting "serial killers" that the concept is not fresh.. and the investigation part was boring, as always, but the bromance between the mains was cute, they had great chemistry... and I liked the ending, it was not super pure good, or evilly wicked, it was well balanced.. also that door scene was hilarious, as expected of MDS ;p
also, every time MDS slaps someone I feel bad, that must HURT ;)

my rewatch value is either a 1 or 10, and this was a one time watch..

Tbh I didn't really read the synopsis. Comedy detective shows are always the same, no one likes the main team, main team tries to catch a bad guy and get recognition, team gets in unfortunate circumstances, team gets bad guys..

But here the "unfortunate event" was going undercover as chicken restaurant owners! And their restaurant gets famous xD
That part was refreshing usually they go undercover as bad guys and become bad guys and blah blah...
The chicken part did get draggy but it was interesting to see how everything got to the last point...
And that last confrontation did have alot of noce actions scenes to wrap things up nicely..

I loved the team, each one had their own flavor and they really carried the show. Plus the comedy is exactly my style~

My rewatch value is either a 1 or a 10 and this was fun enough for a rewatch

At points her voice is chill, but 90% she talks like a chipmunk, and she talks ALOT

She never stops talking…and she’s 32? teens are more mature than her. She’s worse than an airhead bubbly 2010s fls
The chemistry is non existent, her friendship is so fake and their conflicts are trash

the cringe, jun song seo has proved her acting and her strong character charisma but what the heck is that train wreck of fake high pitched aegyo?
Like literally I waited cuz since her job is faking personalities for different events like a bff for a wedding but she did not stop

I don't know, I'm not feeling this... it's like a play? improve in a set? a role playing game?

their lighting, set and camera just feels too cheap compared to a kdrama, and they are also kinda forcing in a love line; "ml gets sick so fl has to cook for him. insert plot twist, she can't cook but she doesn't know that" thing is overused.

their outfits were cute, and the fl was nice, but their dynamic is also overused that it's just boring to watch. the cases are always like "it's not what it looks like, and we must add a twist" and knowing there's gonna be a twist every single time takes away from the twist.

This is such a 2010s drama🤣 but the editing sucks so bad the scenes are all over the place

Yeah song jaerim came in and ruined any other ship😭

I did defend fl being the cold emotionless one, but dang she’s so naively dumb, their North Korean men are never made out that clueless

Tho I’d only pass it off, cuz she was harassed as a child to be in the army but common sense left the chat

dramas should stop recreating webtoons

The game parts were cheesy, no one sees themselves as their game characters and nothing on the game would look “cool” like him saving her

Now the 5 years isn’t big but a kid catfishing her?

and 16 years later, so he’s 31? And she’s 35? I don’t believe that’s the age they’re trying to convey xD
But to be fair I don’t think making real 30 year olds act that naively would’ve worked either xD

21 and 25 makes more sense, look wise and behavior wise

they met in 2009 as 15 and 19 year olds and they're supposed to be high positioned employees

meanwhile 2nd leads are 37/38 when they’re 10 /13years older than the 1st leads but they want them to be 3/6 years older?
atleast either cast actual 30 year olds or make the story about them as 20 year olds
there are many great actors in the 30s catagory, and there are many better plots for 20 year olds

like yoo teo in past lives, he plays his 20 year old self, and he doesn't look it, it was also brief, but his acting was convincing, same with jisung recreating his own highschool self, or 30 year olds forced to actually pretend to be a teenager (only kim taeri and a few others are super convincing xD)
Choi Hyun Wook's last couple of roles were highschoolers, but as a 31 year old? it's a bit of a stretch, for example lee jaeuk was believable as someone older but at times it's just better to cast actors to fit the role, or make the role fit the actors

lol idk how to rate this.. maybe 8 to 8.4.. the number of psychopaths living in one apartment was ridiculous..

the good
+1 for the FL❣
+0.5 for the ML
+ 0.5 for the romance as I say non rom genres have the best roms
+ 0.5 for the "good" tenants
+ 0.5 for the greedy petty thieves last scene 😂

the bad
-1 this wasn't much of a zampires apocalypse. this was sweet home meets zampires meets squid game meets penthouse...
-0.5 too long
-1 too many crazy people
-1 the add for the serial killer ;/

the youthfulness and the friendships were the best part, I wish they focused more on that...
it was super light and easy to marathon, and that was a great contrast to all of the dark dramas I'm watching right now... I want s3 ;)

I'm so happy! I can't believe that was the end... it was too short, though it dragged alot at the start, and most of their plot lines were random fillers...
it's like if they can't make a new story they should atleast stop reusing the same stories over and over again...

I really did enjoy the smooth natural "friends to lovers" feel, they were perfect for each other~
