He was killed by his beloved, who he presumes is dead but has a glimmer of hope that she may not be. He lost his good childhood friends. One who probably blames him for concealing Modeok’s entity which lead to what transpired at the wedding. His other friend left back to his home and didn’t return until 3 years later.
He should be dead but isn’t because of the ice stone so people are afraid of him and avoid him. He now relies heavily on alcohol in the evenings to get through the night.
How can he not change after everything he’s been through?? This doesn’t make the storyline weak.

Jang Uk has never seen Naksu’s real body in part 1 so thats’s why he doesn’t recognize her.
Whereas Yul met Naksu when they were teenagers then saw her dead body in Songrim. He’s the one who should have recognized her but for whatever reason, forgot what she looked like 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Oh my goodness…my heart. So worth the wait. I love the ending of the first episode. He rescued her and she jumps onto him and embraced him. After 3 years of people avoiding him, I’m sure that was shocking but heart warming for him 🥰❤️
