I guess my expectations were set too high for this drama and for no reason whatsoever, I had hoped the drama would be redeemed with a good ending. Not sure why I expected that but it didn’t happen. Anyway, I will say the drama was consistent and did stay true to deception and half truths throughout the drama from episode 1 until episode 35 😅 (2nd couple, FL chasing ML for revenge, ML pretending he was shot and hurt to spend time with FL, not being open and honest about ML’s background and causing FL’s parents to make a fool of themselves, etc etc etc…the list goes on) Gou Fei (the villain per se??) didn’t add anything to the drama and she could have been left out of the plot entirely…while I’m at it..the second couple too lol There were some moments I enjoyed watching and I was glad to see the ML take a more forward approach in pursuing the FL. They had great chemistry in the later episodes and I enjoyed ML’s sweet, flirty attempts. However, the progression of their relationship is quite odd. She has clearly fallen for him by episode 10 it so (forgot exactly) and I get that she was upset he left without saying goodbye so she gave him the cold shoulder but even up until episode 33 or so, she was still avoiding him and dancing around her true feelings. Just why???????? Be mature and open with eachother. Anyway, I felt their engagement happened too quickly but I suppose some time had passed since he was in Africa. This was an average drama but I just expected more. I’ll definitely be able to easily move on and don’t see myself rewatching it.
i've always heard such good reviews about untamed but idk if the genre is what im into? is it just a friendship…
Thank you for the suggestion. I expected to like The Untamed because I like this genre but to my surprise, I ended up dropping it. I’ll definitely give it another chance.
8 is very generous for a drama that pissed you off. The bird undercover plot was unrealistic.
I initially liked this drama too and will stick around until all episodes are subbed so I can finish it. However, I do think the plot could have been a lot stronger. What I didn’t like was that for both the lead and second couple, the foundation of their relationship was built on deception. I didn’t like how immature the FL was. She misunderstood and thought the ML stood her up so to seek revenge, she chased him with the intention of making him fall for her (the fake her as someone superficial with a pretty face). As an adult and successful blogger, the best revenge is to live her best life and move on. 🤗 so She ended up falling for him and eventually discovered that he didn’t stand her up but instead of being an adult about it and be honest, continued on. Anyway….don’t get me started on the second couple 😅😅😅 the rest of the plot is weak but I’m so close to finishing it so I’ll hang in there. There are some cute moments. As of episode 27, this is a 6.5 or 7 at best for me. 😅

I’m one who gets emotional and cries easily when watching sad scenes but I didn’t feel anything when the sects were massacred. I just couldn’t connect with it 🤷🏻♀️ I’d like to give The Untamed another another try some day. Same with Goblin…a very popular drama that I dropped too. I’m pretty sure I was halfway through it already.
what happens again... i forget hahaha im almost done
Hahha I’m hopeless I think my favorite scenes are ingrained in my head Episode 9 when DFQC saves orchid and we see why he’s the supreme moon lord Episode 13 the body swap kiss 😘 Episode 18 DFQCs reunion with his father Episode 26 the confession ❤️ Episode 35 the longing, goodbye kiss
I love it too. I don’t think I ff any scenes even though I didn’t care much for the father and his twins.…
This has become one of my top Chinese dramas too. Not just Xianxia 🤗 There are only a few things I would have liked to see more of even though it didn’t affect my enjoyment watching it. I would have liked to see a more epic battle scene between the fairy and moon tribe and towards the end it would have been nice to see DFQC use the glazed fire. He was so badass in episode 9 when he rescued Orchid and we got to see how powerful hellfire was. Nonetheless, I still love this drama 🤗

I heard really great things about the Untamed too and I’ve tried watching it but dropped it about 3 times. I think I’m at episode 17 and was told I need to keep watching because it gets really good. I’ll continue watching it some day but for now, I have it on hold.
as im wrapping up this drama, can i just say what a masterpiece the last 10ish minutes of ep 35 is... WOW. and…
I love episode 35, you can just feel how deep their longing and passion is for each other ❤️😭 This drama has one of the best OST and musical score. Both are timed perfectly at the right scenes which add to the dramatic effect.
i feel like this is the perfect length. their time in the mortal world, etc. isn't too long or too short, unlike…
I love it too. I don’t think I ff any scenes even though I didn’t care much for the father and his twins. Not sure if you are there yet but I don’t want to spoil it for you 😉 There are complaints about the ending being too short and abrupt but I like to think of the ending as the the last 2 episodes and not the very last scene like some people. I think the story wrapped up nicely with no loose ends but of course, we viewers always want more especially if it’s a drama we love. It’s hard to say goodbye to these beloved characters.
Omg yasss…and he was so hot with those firey blue eyes. Looking like a Chinese Ken Barbie doll super hero 🤣😍🥰
Watching the bts videos, Dylan’s personality is the complete opposite of DFQC but he played the part so well and it was convincing. Also, thanks to the voice actor because his real voice would not work for this role at all.
