I agree with you on how high expectations can really ruin one's experience while watching a drama, especially…
Oh yesss I don’t mind slow burn romance either like the long ballad 🥰😍😘 my favorite scene in episode 9 where she’s dressing his wound haha his body looked great and episode 23 where Ashile challenged She Er.
I’m thinking of watching the kdrama Little Women next
A rom com of Zhang bin bin, life just cannot be more happier. He kept me glued to the screen. Glad that his character…
She’s a cute girl who pouts and flutters her lashes often but it wasn’t too bad to watch. It’s definitely more toned down compared the character she played in LBFAD, where she often cries and wails. I’ve only seen her in these 2 dramas but she’s a good fit for these roles. I would like to see her take on different roles and not be type casted. Overall, I think she’s a likable actress on and off screen. I’ve watched some BTS videos and variety shows and I like her.

Haha likewise! ☺️☺️😊Which drama are you watching next?
I watched this solely for our leading couple too. Also, I was so close to the finish line there was no way I was going to drop it. It would have been a much better drama if we got to see more development in their romance. They barely scratched the tip of the iceberg then it was over already. I liked how they were both supportive of each others career. That was nice but I wanted to see more development .The kind of romance development like in You Are My Glory. That’s one of my favorite modern romance dramas. I didn’t care for the gaming aspect of it at all but the romance was too sweet and the leads were smart and sensible. My kind of leading couple 🥰
Did it bother anyone else that we never got to see Meiren express her gratitude towards ZY for the bird fossil?? It was returned to her by the student then that was it.
Besides, in her hometown, did they ever mention she has her Ph.D.? I skipped so many parts trying to avoid the…
It was a very weak reveal. In the very last episode he told her how he connected the dots that she was a bird expert but never eluded to the fact that she has a phd. If there was more to it than that, my bad…I’m guilty of FFing scenes too lol
The most annoying thing about this drama is that NO ONE COMMUNICATED and that everything was based on half truths…
I just posted something similar to this! 😅 I totally agree with your opinion. Some people said it would be a better drama with no second couple but even if they were left out, the drama wouldn’t improve by much.
💯💯💯 correct opinion. What’s sad is I lost all respect for Esther Yu. She’s getting good roles in…
This is the second drama I’ve seen her in, first is LBFAD. I do hope she won’t be type casted and only play these types of roles because I’ll lose interest. It’s all too familiar and be like playing the same character in a different drama. That’s how I feel about some of the other FL actors. Even if it’s a different drama and genre..the character is literally the same. Though Esther’s acting and voice is a good fit for this type of role, she needs to venture out and play more versatile roles. If not, she’ll be like a broken record playing the same character time and time again.
I am with you on this not so unpopular opinion...lol....My list of complaints are even bigger than yours. Not…
Haha I could add to my list of gripes with this drama but I didn’t want to sound too negative. LV Jian…at first I thought it was sweet of him to be there for Meiren when ZY left without a word. She was really down and he tried to cheer her up. But he stuck around until the very last episode hanging on to a glimmer of hope that she would choose him. It would have been better if he just dropped that idea and remained platonic friends. She knew he was still trying to pursuing her but she kept hanging out with him all the while avoiding ZY..it should have been the other way around but whatever. The editing was terrible….they would cut to another scene in the middle of the leads scene. Let them finish their scene first. It was annoying because they would cut to another scene for a minute then would come back to the same scene of the leads. I know it was no more than a minute or so becuase I only had to hit the ff 15 seconds once or twice to get back to the leads scene. The editing was choppy and terrible. I didn’t like how these adults had the poorest communication. Meiren’s assistant just assumed Meiren fired her…why not just ask Meiren?? She had been the assistant for many years so shouldn’t she know how Meiren is? Then she just partnered up with Gou Fei to plot a weak revenge scheme. Gou Fei with her hate, jealousy and envy just assumed Meiren was trying to bring her down. There was no indication or proof. Also, it’s not believable the way the second ML fell head over heels for second FL over a chance interaction that he would go to stalker lengths to find her then deceive her. Just too weird and unbelievable. Then he just left his company to live in the countryside and harvest grapes with her. Hello? Who’s running the company??? Anyway, the whole handicap thing rubbed me the wrong way. I think it was in bad taste on the writers part and was very insensitive to those who have true disabilities. I also think it would have been a much better drama if Meiren coukd have turned off her act after she discovered that ZY didn’t stand her up and it was a misunderstanding. They could have had a normal, adult romance but no…this act went on until the last episode. ZY was as interesting as a wall until he started pursuing Meiren so I was glad to see him being more forward in chasing her . Prior to this, he had no personality whatsoever and has no interest outside of botany. As boring as ZY is, idk how so many women were infatuated with him (women in the drama not us viewers in real life).
Ok I think my ranting is done for now 😅😅😳
Anyway, these characters were just written poorly.
I guess my expectations were set too high for this drama and for no reason whatsoever, I had hoped the drama would be redeemed with a good ending. Not sure why I expected that but it didn’t happen. Anyway, I will say the drama was consistent and did stay true to deception and half truths throughout the drama from episode 1 until episode 35 😅 (2nd couple, FL chasing ML for revenge, ML pretending he was shot and hurt to spend time with FL, not being open and honest about ML’s background and causing FL’s parents to make a fool of themselves, etc etc etc…the list goes on) Gou Fei (the villain per se??) didn’t add anything to the drama and she could have been left out of the plot entirely…while I’m at it..the second couple too lol There were some moments I enjoyed watching and I was glad to see the ML take a more forward approach in pursuing the FL. They had great chemistry in the later episodes and I enjoyed ML’s sweet, flirty attempts. However, the progression of their relationship is quite odd. She has clearly fallen for him by episode 10 it so (forgot exactly) and I get that she was upset he left without saying goodbye so she gave him the cold shoulder but even up until episode 33 or so, she was still avoiding him and dancing around her true feelings. Just why???????? Be mature and open with eachother. Anyway, I felt their engagement happened too quickly but I suppose some time had passed since he was in Africa. This was an average drama but I just expected more. I’ll definitely be able to easily move on and don’t see myself rewatching it.
i've always heard such good reviews about untamed but idk if the genre is what im into? is it just a friendship…
Thank you for the suggestion. I expected to like The Untamed because I like this genre but to my surprise, I ended up dropping it. I’ll definitely give it another chance.
8 is very generous for a drama that pissed you off. The bird undercover plot was unrealistic.
I initially liked this drama too and will stick around until all episodes are subbed so I can finish it. However, I do think the plot could have been a lot stronger. What I didn’t like was that for both the lead and second couple, the foundation of their relationship was built on deception. I didn’t like how immature the FL was. She misunderstood and thought the ML stood her up so to seek revenge, she chased him with the intention of making him fall for her (the fake her as someone superficial with a pretty face). As an adult and successful blogger, the best revenge is to live her best life and move on. 🤗 so She ended up falling for him and eventually discovered that he didn’t stand her up but instead of being an adult about it and be honest, continued on. Anyway….don’t get me started on the second couple 😅😅😅 the rest of the plot is weak but I’m so close to finishing it so I’ll hang in there. There are some cute moments. As of episode 27, this is a 6.5 or 7 at best for me. 😅

I liked him a lot in Eternal Love.
