Just stumbled upon your list by accident - I love your commentary on the different actors & actresses! I see that you like Li Qin and as I’m currently watching War of Faith, I can’t help but highly recommend it to you. She’s amazing in it and the whole drama in general is fantastic.
1. Acting is subjective and I do agree that the lead actor really does look the part of XQA. He also has the general…
I completely agree with your whole assessment of the show and your further explanations here in the comments (don’t let the haters bring you down!) Although I really enjoyed the drama, it is by no means perfect and some people can’t seem to accept that lol
Just saw the news. Guess we will see this next year😭
I‘m soo disappointed 😭😭 I‘m more than halfway through the novel and hoped that by the time I finished, there would me news about the release date, but now this happened…😖😫
Edit: but yea, anyone who’s waiting for the drama to release and hasn’t read the novel yet - do it! It’s amazing and it will be hard for the drama to do it justice (though I hope it will🤞)
I love love love the novel. It’s onde of those perfect chinese novels with very few plotholes. I hope they air…
I’m curious where you read the novel? The website of lazygirltranslations is so full of ads that I can’t concentrate + the background color is black and I can’t change it.. Meimei Translations’ website is a bit better + the translation itself reads much smoother, but unfortunately they have only translated the first few chapters…
Disney Weibo announced voice actors for its Chinese release with Zhang Ruoyun as Mufasa, Zhang Wanyi as Taka/Scar,…
Wait what! I wasn’t really interested in the movie but now I might just watch it in Chinese because of my favorite actors & singer. Do you have any idea where to watch it?
Imagine knowing that your husband is a playboy with no brain and you still like him. Like it would have made sense…
I don't get why so many people here say he’s a cheater when I don’t think he actually is? I’m pretty sure it’s conveyed that the second sister is very jealous(understandably) because he has many female attendants and he goes out a lot but I don’t think he actively cheats on her (correct me if I’m wrong tho)
First time see all these actors, and I absolutely love this drama!)
You should check out The Double then! Fantastic drama with many of the same actors (Wang Xingyue as ML, Liu Xiening, Liang Yongqi, Zhao Qing, Pan Youcheng)
There is something many fans seem to forget.... An actor's job is to create content for us to watch in a way that…
I don’t know this particular actor but I completely agree. As long as an actor/actress hasn‘t committed a major crime, I do not care at all about what they do in their private life and it‘s crazy to me that there’s so many people that feel entitled to pass judgement over things that don’t concern them. At the end of the day, actors are just people too.
How could I not have recognized that one of my most despised characters in Blossom and one of my most loved characters…
I know right? I also hated his characters in Blossom and The Double but loved him in The Blood of Youth! It’s actually quite refreshing to see an actor take on so many different kind of roles instead of getting typecasted. When he appears on screen, my brain gets confused trying to categorise him 😵💫
I just went to your watchlist anyways just so my votes wouldn’t go to waste, and of the ones you haven’t watched yet I recommend the most: A Dream of Splendor (wonderful slice of life), The Legend of Shen Li, Under the Queen‘s Umbrella and The Blood of Youth.
Thank you for introducing me to this drama, it seems really interesting😘😘 Although it may not be completely historically accurate (or at all), it seems refreshing to me to have a drama that isn’t afraid to show the reality of what being a woman during these times might have looked like, instead of trying to sugarcoat it (which is okay, I also like my comfort dramas). And if that includes violence and adult scenes then so be it. I’m tired of pretending that living in the past as a woman would be like living in a fairytale with a perfect fairytale prince to come to your rescue, as it is so often portrayed.
Edit: but yea, anyone who’s waiting for the drama to release and hasn’t read the novel yet - do it! It’s amazing and it will be hard for the drama to do it justice (though I hope it will🤞)
