Probably the best GL I've seen so far until Ep6 (if you fast forward the scenes with Ek... I mean this guy... yeah, no, really). Really good acting, especially by Lookmhee, and production overall. Their chemistry was off the charts aswell, even more so if you watch the behind the scenes at the end of all episodes and see how much fun they had (together).

Maybe minor spoiler upcoming (I really don't know if it counts as one):
Unfortunately I had to check three times if I was really watching episode 8 because the last two eps were a jumbled and rushed mess that kept piling problems onto the main couple while completely losing focus of their feelings/issues and glorifying a crazy stalker's forgiveness, because, well, he broke into an apartment and threatened to kill two people and then almost unlived himself, but he's not suing them! I don't know what it is with Thai GLs, but they make it seem like men in Thailand can't accept "no" and think they can just own a woman because they "love them" one-sidedly. I think 23.5 is the only GL (finished by Oct 2024) without that plot device and that's probably because it's a high school romcom. If that's the only way to portray men, then just simply don't include any in those dramas. The first adult Thai GL without such a character and without a homophobic witch (grand)mom will get a 9 rating from me, regardless of if the story or the acting sucked.

I cannot understand all this people hating on the female lead and loving the brother when the brother is the biggest eyesore in the show... A bunch of you crave for him, but he evil and selfish...

Can someone help me understand why Yeon couldn't sense his bead in Ji Ah when he wanted to know if she was actually Aeum (her reincarnation)?? Why was it that the bead manifested when she was in tears and pleading for him not to die?

And how come Yeon couldn't sense his bead was gone during the trade with the blind guy?? like that bead is made from his core and life and a fox only gives it to their dearest and most important person...surely he must've been able to sense it right? especially if he was able to sense that little pouch he gave to protect Ji Ah was gone...something that simple that he made why not his precious fox bead?

i liked how the FL despite being human almost always figures out when she is being deceived by these mythical beings

Watching episode 13 now. For those of you saying Jo Bo Ah's acting in this drama is miserable, I beg to differ. Her transformation between her normal Ji-ah and her villain side when she was possessed by the imoogi is outstanding. Her acting is on par with those of Lee Dong Wook's and Kim Beom's.

You were looking for realism in a fantasy thriller?

-- Spoilers -- Perfect example of a drama to adress a trope regularly used in dramas and series that is starting to get on my nerves. I named it the unnecessary brother sacrifice.

I need to say i often side with the "bad guy". First, because antagonists or second lead characters are usually the most interesting ones in term of development and psychology. Then, because i relate a lot with their emotional struggles, backstory and complexed feelings. I'll take Rang character as an example. He has everything that i love in a fiction: charisma, sarcasm, deep and difficult feelings and a solid traumatic backstory. He's a character "forced" to be the villain but actually so soft he would cry for an animal or would save anyone too weak to fight for himself . His anger towards human and feelings come from the fact he was wronged and failed by the closest persons he had.

On the contrary, we have tragic lead characters who only exist through unnecessary melodrama. they lack nuances and are quite bland to me. I don't really like romance and every time i kinda root for the other characters and doesn't care much on the main storyline. It's also a reason why i mainly watch thrillers or dramas with no relationships. Still, as fans root for the romance, writers have to make everything to please them.

The role of the bad guy becomes some kind of redemption journey where the final act of service will be his death (or close). I hate that Rang has to sacrifice himself for the main couple to have a happy ending. It doesn't make sense at all and it is in my opinion super cruel. Why bother give him a family , salvation and peace just to make him face death ? I always suffer a lot with those closures because it doesn't serve their evolution, especially when the character starts to live his own life, free from traumatic bounds.

I also find lead characters (not only in this drama) super self centred when it comes to their lovestory. They don't care much about other people life's and feelings. Here, Yeon expected Rang to be his "final weapon" to serve the purpose of his lovestory. I feel like the male lead often uses the love and dependency of the other character for his own sake. (Another example is in my Dearest) And you'll tell me yes but he made mistakes, this way he can repair it.

But i disagree. I think they bare and suffered enough. And i'd rather have a tragic sad ending for the couple than another sacrifice that the lead won't bother to stop. Why no one tries to bring him back ? Why writers consider the story ends once the lovers have reunited? I hate this one side thing so much.

This was one of the worst dramas I've ever had the misfortune of watching.

The glaring biphobia that the show didn't bother to address, let alone correct, in the form of Cee not being sure if Kate wants to have a relationship with a woman because she used to date a man. Cee being controlling and insecure whenever Kate so much as interacts with a man because she's a Controlling/Abusive Lesbian TM and of course, Kate is 100% going to cheat on her because Kate is a Promiscuous Bisexual TM.

Cee knew that Kate wanted to have kids early on in their friendship. Cee knew that Kate broke up with her ex-boyfriend because he didn't want kids and she did. But for some reason (internalized homophobia that is, again, never addressed), Cee thought that Kate wouldn't want kids if she were dating a woman. Lol. (Also, Cee thinking that same-gender couples can't have/raise kids because, "Who would be the mom and who would be the dad??" That's a direct quote!!!)

And then came the worst plotline in the form of them both deciding that they want what the other wants!! (Cee suddenly wants kids because she doesn't want to lose Kate, and Kate suddenly doesn't want kids because she doesn't want to lose Cee.) Since Kate wants to get pregnant and she doesn't want to adopt because she wants the kids to be "theirs" (yet another issue but let's keep this review short), they decide that Kate should have sex with a guy to get pregnant. Makes total sense, right?? I wanted death at this point.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Kate ends up marrying the dude and Cee is her maid of honour, while clearly still being in love with her. No thanks.

tl;dr do yourself a favour and don't bother watching this.

Well, the first episode is definitely promising with the couple being good and having an astounding chemistry but that's all there is to it. Go no further unless you want to torture yourself. What a waste of good casts!!
