I haven't read the novel tbh. The live action has some amazing elements, especially ones I hadn't seen before, but I think it's a personal thing for me not to like characters that exist for no other reason then to appear once and a while as a crux without SEEING the actual crux. I'm a show not tell kind of gal which definitely affected my watching experience.
The things I did love was the evolution of Yuan Zhong and the steadiness of Tan Yin. Their dynamic is great. The weapon spirits were delightful and there were so many mystical elements that were enjoyable as well.

Oh that is terribly disappointing. I'm all for some plot propellers but nearly everything and everyone other than the two MC's, the weapon spirits, and Qian Lin (I'm on the fence about him, cause I adore him but I haven't found out his purpose yet) were that. There were definitely some shining bright moments and I loved the humor and angst, but alas, I'm not sure this hit the way I was hoping for.

I meant in how empty it was and how these fights take place but no one seems to see it. I understood how it contributed to the story but like some of the other side stories, it felt like the bone of something great but without all the meat that would have made it a full meal.
I would like to say I really did like this drama but I also had issues with it.Let's start with the good. The…

Same. I am a bit underwhelmed by this drama. It was pretty good, but not joining my top 10 xianxia list.
I felt the same unfortunately. I was thoroughly enjoying it up to a certain point which I think is why I was so let down by the lack of pull through. The ride was fun but not going on a rewatch list 🥲
I agree, episodes 14 through 23 seemed like dead space.
The bit where they went into the portal and met wife's malicious energy soul (Like, NOTHING, was done with the portal? Am I tripping?) and Yishui getting amnesia all seemed to be mostly useless to the plot tbh. There were a lot of filler scenes too. It felt like all the good plotlines got paused and then in the last five/six episodes is when they started coming back with the shadow people, etc. The beginning and ending were fantastic though.
I wanted to like this more than I did, but the episodes in the middle felt repetitive and just seemed to drag it on a bit. A shame because I absolutely loved the beginning and end, and there were some really interesting plotlines. Felt some characters were also not done justice. Still a decent watch and the main couple is absolutely adorable. Their dynamic is perfect.
So you’re saying you masturbate at school? I do it often, too.Yes school is a wonderful place to do those things.
Considering they're all taking serious drugs and one student is depicted having a massive drug problem, I feel like the masturbation is probably a secondary issue. Plus, it isn't glorified. This drama is R-19 as well, so high schooler's shouldn't be watching it either.
I've watched up to ep 10 and there's no explicit scenes, if that's what your asking. There's a couple kisses, strong implications/scenes with masturbation, one girl watches porn but the porn itself isn't more than steamy kissing, and there's a scene where it's implied that a two people have sex. No nudity so far and I doubt there will be as it centers in high school.
