I absolutely agree! Some series/movies invest a ton and fall flat, while some much less and they succeed. It seemed a valid point, especially considering she seemed offended by seeing the foam and bouncing pillars xD I was too busy watching the action to notice those little details. I attribute TU's success entirely to the team and actors that put they heart into it. The CGI and such never bothered me, because everything else was spectacular. But she seemed affronted by it, which is why I said that.
Of course the majority here are fans, but I think it is also important to acknowledge that some people might not like it for the poster's above exact situation. Some might watch it because it's popular and then dislike it. I feel like it's better to give reasons why other's would enjoy it so people who come here can read it and determine whether it's their type of show or not. I don't mean harm by it, I just want to make sure that those who will love it watch it, and those who might not don't come here to post about their disappointment afterwards. I also know that there are people who come here to trashpost about it without watching it, and I feel the best way to respond is politely and point out how we differ in opinions civilly. It leaves a better impression on those who come here and read the comments. :)
It is very good! I was initially hesitant to start it because I hadn't been able to immerse myself in wuxia dramas…
(Putting under spoiler because it's not TU related)
I feel you on that! I was really happy to catch up on the things I missed out on because of work and everything else. That is quite a daunting list to tackle, but I believe in you! I sped through all the good (in my opinion) American tv shows and rarely watch them anymore unless it's with my boyfriend, who can't get into the Asian series xD Also, Chicago Typewriter was the absolute bomb! One of my favorite kdramas to date honestly.
I don't know why this is so overrated i really think this production is't so good in any sense. Bad acting, bad…
It's actually based on a book that is a hundred plus chapters long, so they cut it down pretty decently, lol! It's okay if you didn't like it, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I'd have to disagree with you on the production and filming in general, but especially because they had an extremely low budget. I remember being super surprised at the set and costumes detail throughout the drama, and really enjoying all the effort they put into it. I thought the acting was wonderful as I went through so many emotions watching this. Whereas in Korean dramas they usually use a certain piece of music to evoke the appropriate emotion in the scene, the acting here felt raw. (Not against that in Korean dramas. They were my first love) Wuxia definitely isn't for everyone and takes some getting used to. A lot of people watch this and love it to bits, and others feel the same as you do. It looks like you mainly prefer Korean dramas so this just might not have been up your alley. :)

Dang, I'm jealous. I was definitely binging shows when where I was put quarantine in to place, and I miss being off of work, lol. I recently (this year) got back into hardcore watching Asian dramas thanks to covid so I totally understand. I would definitely recommend taking some time to give this a watch. It's so good!
I am also guilty of appreciating it, but I agree with everything here. I will say, if there are certain male actors that are the ML in a drama, I know that there will be a token shirtless scene or two for sure. Thank you for the article!
Is this drama any good? It's the highest rated Asian drama on mydramalist but I've only seen two chinese dramas,…
It is very good! I was initially hesitant to start it because I hadn't been able to immerse myself in wuxia dramas before and the episode count is a little daunting, but I binged this. I watched this in three days and continue to come back for more. The sets, costumes, acting, music, and storyline are all so good and it's obvious how much the cast and crew put into this. It's a roller-coaster ride and a well worth it journey. It has a way of pulling you in and keeping you there. I would highly recommend if you like involved stories!
i never knew i needed this in my life till now xP[SPOILER] https://my-otp-list.tumblr.com/post/175509193435/10-strange-and-hilarious-facts-about-mo-dao-zu
"It can be seen that Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are fated to be together. No matter what happens, in the end it will always be that person." I love this, it's so precious! All of these are great, especially Jiang Cheng's point, lol

Haha, that's pretty understandable xD While there are some characters who are a little aggravating (mostly the bad guys, so pretty typical) the women in here are amazing for sure. I would recommend watching if you like subtle romance, wuxia, costume fantasy, and really good storytelling.
Edit: I saw you decided to watch. I hope you enjoy!
Is untamed worth it if u mostly care about lady characters?? xd
While this does have some very strong female characters who are wonderful, the main focus is on Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, and their journey. The women don't get the majority of the screen time, but they get a decent amount and are integral to the story. That being said, this is absolutely a great watch and well worth it every minute! :)
hi! i have a quick question. what exactly happened with a-yuan? did all of the wen clan just leave him at the…
Someone else probably has a more in depth answer, but the Wen clan believed they were exchanging their lives for WWX's safety. They didn't bet on the events that took place afterward, nor that WWX was going to die. I believe (and don't quote me on this) little Ah-yaun crawled into the trunk of a tree and succumbed to a fever, thus he couldn't call out. While drama!WWX dies on the cliff, book!WWX is brought back to the burial mounds by LWJ and he instead dies there after being overpowered by his cultivation. The Wen clan's sacrifice was for naught because of the other sects greed and jealously, but they believed they were leaving Ah-Yaun for WWX to find once he woke up. They had no idea he would go to seek revenge for him and topple the domino of events that happened afterward.
I need to brush up on my book knowledge, but I believe that's what took place. I hope that helps a little! :)
Guys i dropped after watching 3 episodes. Should i start watching it again? It didnt get me hooked cause there…
The romance here is a slow burn under the surface and an absolute pleasure to watch! Although there aren't any kisses, I felt like the couple displayed their love without words, which was more powerful than a thousand professions. I would give it another try and maybe see how you feel around episode twenty or thirty, since that's where everything comes to a head. It's a really good watch and will leave you with all the feels once it's over! Although, don't feel bad if you can't get into it, this genre isn't for everyone. :)
Is this worth it? The only c history drama i watched without skipping is princess wei young and the eternal love,…
It's for sure worth it, but many watchers (including myself) found that to really get into it, you had to get about halfway-ish. I would recommend giving it a try though! A warning though, it may cause serious TU addiction and there is no cure xD
Does anyone know novels like the one this drama is baseda good bl with lot of romantic scenes. Please tell
You might want to try Heaven's Official Blessings, also by the same author as this base material. Not a lot of steamy scenes, but the couple there is honestly so adorable, and the book itself is amazing.
I believe MAME already released a statement a month or so back saying there would be changes to the script to…
I totally agree with you that people shouldn't attack her for her writing, but if someone was writing about pedophilia that would be a little worrisome. I'm not likening her writing to that sort of stuff, but I think there were just some concerns about the rape-ish scenes in some of the books. I know the Kla/No pairing made me personally uncomfortable because their pairing is based on essentially a drunken, nonconsensual, night together. I did skip through their parts, but it still made me uncomfortable. Also, adaptions leave room for change, good or bad. I totally get were you're coming from. People definitely shouldn't attack her or be rude, but I'm all for wholesome changes if the situation calls for it. :)
I came across this post recently and WOW, every day I find something new about the untamed that never fails to…
I love this! Besides all the other lovely material we get about their love story, one of my favorite touches is the brand we briefly get to see on LWJ's chest during the river scene. It speaks to how much they were trying to imply their relationship without saying it explicitly. T_T
I dropped after 6 ep. it's boring and no love story((
Love stories are not just touching and kissing. Their love story transcends words. Plus, if you only watch to ep 6 of anything short of a miniseries, there's really no way to judge the whole body of work. :)
