I mean, I'm really not going to argue with you, but in my opinion the reason I don't mind Type's initial aggressive behavior (hitting etc.) was because we get to his character develop and grow into a decent, less angry, human being. The relationship between the two is initially a little toxic, but develops into something beautiful and mutually lovely. However, in my first response, I was more referring to the rape parallels in the book which are definitely not okay, not so much Type's behavior.
I've always tried to understand why LWJ confessed at the time he did. Cloud recesses was burnt down, his dad was…
No, it's okay! I'm like a rabbit and go down a million rabbit holes when I'm trying to put my thoughts down so I tend to go around in circles, lol.
I could see how that might be protecting him! Also, he might have wanted to bare his soul to the person he loves, when everything and everyone else was in limbo for them in the cave. Only his brother knew him well enough to know what he was thinking at the time, and he might have just wanted for someone to know a piece of him that he didn't show outwardly.
Or, maybe, amidst all the darkness and fighting going on around him, he himself needed the brightness that their love song brought to him. LWJ could have been protecting himself and WWX through singing the song and bringing light into the unknown that the future held. He usually followed duty and necessity so, for once, he might have wanted to throw his rules to the wind, and succumb to the comfort that WWX brought him.
No, I love reading your analysis of TU! It's always so in-depth and well thought out!

She was listening to her fans. They wanted changes from the rapey/aggressive scenes in the book. If they skip those kind of things in Tharntype2, I'm all for it personally.

I hadn't really in depth thought about it before, but maybe he figured WWX wouldn't remember. He was notorious for having an abysmal memory, and they were also heavily injured and trapped. Under all the uncertainty of the current circumstances, LWJ might have thought it was his last chance to confess his feelings. There was a little hesitation right before he told WWX the name. Plus, he leaves before WWX wakes up and the next time they see each other is after WWX reappears, after which he wanted to bring WWX back to Gusu with him.
Maybe he fully intended to follow through, but his black and white principle's and the war between the sects got in the way of it all? It was pretty obvious that Wei Ying didn't remember the the confession when they met up again, but LWJ doesn't take his eyes off him once when WWX is talking.
Whatever it is, it really says something that after the sixteen year period, WWX remembers the song (albeit subconsciously) amidst everything else that he had forgotten. I know in the donghua, he plays it when he's still in MX 's house as well. My little heart hurts when I think of all their missed chances. I'm sure that's why LWJ is so driven and loyal once WWX comes back. All the things he wishes he did and said after the confession are like ghosts for those sixteen years.
As much as I want this new season, I'm also very worried about it. I seriously distrust Mame, the author of the…
I believe MAME already released a statement a month or so back saying there would be changes to the script to deviate from the book. I think people were pretty vocal about the problems with it. Hopefully the changes will move away from the rape issues that are prominent in that culture.
Hi! does anyone know where I can fine cql wangxian fanart?
I don't know specifically, but tumblr is probably one of your best bets! Edit: I searched wangxian in the tags on tumblr and it comes up with a lot of really pretty fan art. Definitely really cool to check out :)
As much as I am excited for this season, I'm still wondering if it's worth it to have another season we already…
I'm just excited to see more MewGulf/TharnType, so I have no complaints, lol. We also get some side couples in addition to them, so I'm happy about the second season.
This may be a stupid question. Are Mew and Gulf artists of GMM? I checked GMM, their names are not there. Which…
They're not with GMM to my knowledge. If you go and look at their casting clip for the second season it says Me Mind and Triple Eight Entertainment on the introduction, so they might be with them. Yicon Thailand is also on the video as well. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I don't know much about Thai entertainment.
I agree, especially with the Strangers from Hell OST! It's so unique in it's way that it's actually a masterpiece.…
It really did! I loved every song from that OST. They melded so well together, it was wonderful. I had trouble getting through the drama itself because the it was made so well. The aura was so creepy and dark, I always felt super uncomfortable after watching. I will definitely eventually pick it back up later on though!
I go back to Chicago Typewriter, Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Goblin, and Angel's Last Mission OST's a lot for sure! An underrated OST, I think, would be Strangers from Hell. That is such a good OST, albeit slightly creepy. It definitely has its own thing going on, and is one I go back to listen to even though I haven't been able to finish the drama itself.
Thank you for the article! Good music is definitely one of those things that can help a drama along on its path to memorability.
It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020) is another hyped drama I fell for all the ratings, reviews, and Netflix recommendations…
I would say TU is not overhyped, but I loved it so I'm heavily biased. I would suggest sticking it out for the first ten to twenty episodes as some people who watched found the pacing a little weird through those ones. After that, it picks up nicely. :) I do hope you love it!
It's always so fun to watch him dance! Thanks to scene where WWX starts taking his clothes off in TU, I kind of understood when they were teasing him about not taking his shirt off xD
Just like you all, I'm here suffering after finishing this... I miss it so much :(( Is there any cure for what…
I ended up reading all the origin material for this drama, and then followed it by reading Heaven Official Blessings, which was really good! Other than, just keep coming back for more xD
So when Xiao Xingchen killed himself i felt like Xue Yang was actually sad. Is it only me or xueyang actually…
Too add onto what Iiya said, I don't think they really highlighted it in the adaptation, but in the book we get more of a sense of Xue Yang's childhood trauma. He was starved of affection and sincerity. I don't think anyone had really taken care of him, much less unconditionally until then and it certainly affected him emotionally. He acted like a villain (and was definitely awful), but I think the moment Xiao Xingchen saved him/gave him candy (which was related to his childhood) he started to become attached. He had a very twisted affection for him which bordered more on obsession. The moment the one person who had cared for him died because of his actions, I'm sure he went in to some sort of crazy denial. The whole Arc City is just a heartbreaking mess ;_;

I hope that all made some semblance of sense xD
