Wonderful cinematography and leads acting. Story lost its grip and charm in end, cause of her abandoning his love for worldly comforts of another man. Ik, lots of couples in reality face somewhat same, resulting in despair. Atleast here in movie they could have shown a justified happy ending, to ease heart of all frustrations, couples gone through.

Shen Yi is a hard willed strong character which carries a mysterious vibe. His life is itself a mystery just like his portrait. Imo, his 'portrait behind portrait' depicts, 7 yrs. of difference between 'past SY' and 'present SY', hardship & struggle he faced throughout. Someone holding grudge (could be anyone in SY's life) has resurfaced. In S2, much of the focus may be on it. There's an immense mystery still left to be uncovered.

In last scene, someone broke into SY's house and slashed his self portrait on the wall. It can be anyone from SY's past or present, who wants to harm him. The danger is even bigger as now SY is police officer himself.

1. Maybe cause Xiang Liu is indeed in human form as FFB, that's why poison shows more affects.

2. (Check Epi.11) Cause XY is planter & bug is planted in Xiang liu. XL basically will feel all her pains. *Spoiler* During maze attack, XY was announced dead but XL kept holding their heartbeat for her. In end, before going to war, XL stabbed his heart to remove his lover bug, to make sure that XY wouldn't feel any backlash, if anything happens to him in battle.

Writer always describes XY being calm, close to sea, which got strong with time, after meeting XL. 'Lover bug' is itself an honest proof of her feeling for him, as their heart accepted it, indicates that both have feelings for each other. In an interview, writer said, that XY is not a typical fl as she choses 'reason' instead of her 'heart'.

She isn't honest with her feeling like her mother, who chooses her soulmate (XY's biological father). In trying to be calculative, choosing Jing, XY still faced what most of women in reality, suffers in marriage from her husband & in laws.

Yeah, that's what I thought about her too. She wasn't honest with her feelings like her mother, who chooses her soulmate (XY's biological father). Rather than developing, XY character seems to declines in Jing influence. Their relationship isn't that strong and impactfull compared to other. She is protective with CangXuan while carefree & strong with Xiang liu. I agree, She indeed not a typical FL. She chooses reason instead of her heart. In determination to think with brain, to be calculative, hence, in name of safe choice, XY still faced what most of women suffers in reality in their domestic life, from husband & rich in laws.

Ending is like just an empty consolation that atleast XY isn't alone.

...yes & with time XL became one of her important reason to, especially after that 37 yrs. Xiang Liu & Xiao Yao are like 2 sides of same coin. More or less, both have same suffering past. As plot progress, they spent many carefree, bickering moments their together.

Welcome.🤍 Xiang liu is a wonderful selfless beautiful character who teaches us importance of love & devotion. Btw, if we notice one of the poster, Xiao Yao in red dress is facing towards sea, which basically hinting viewers towards her yearning for XL.

Ikr. We should ignore them. Them misleading facts, trying to dismiss Xiang liu and his efforts, fortunately still won't change truth. Characters growth & actions proves their own worth. TH confirmed via novel, XL and TSJ as XY's lovers. FL even loves CX in brotherly way. TSJ is a 2 dimensional flat character. XY describes him as "willing but doesn't have ability". The notion of his 'happy ending' depends upon XL. Xiang liu basically suffered and shouldered most burden of this drama/story. Btw, Imo, even CangXuan didn't make XY physically ill and mentally depressed for years like Jing's betrayal did.

Unfortunately Yes. If you want to now how (SPOILER) XL is XY soulmate, took most of the brunt in story. From novel, it can be stated, XL lost 1 life in childhood when escaped from slavers. Later sacrificed 1 life to XY as he nurses her alive with his blood for 37 yrs. He again sacrificed 1 life when XY died again. Certainly lost another life, when he stabbed his heart to remove his 'Lover Bug' so XY didn't get hurt if anything happens to XL in battlefield. In the end, injured and tired, Xiang liu didn't have left much for himself, still CX and his army was unable to defeat XL, so they killed him with 100 arrows. XL love & devotion is selfless. He died being loyal to love & people he served. Title in a way, can be also referred to XY loosing XL. There will be forever a sense of loss, an eternal yearning. It's said, that she will never know how much XL loves & sacrificed for her.

Most of the things depends upon efficient plot, characters growth, cast performances and production choreography. Throughout the plot, WenXiaoLiu/Xiao Yao, Xiang Liu and CangXuan are strong characters carrying drama own their own. YangZi, ZhangWanyi and Tan Jianci proved their worth beautifully by their impressive & expressionful performances. Waiting for season 2.

Rather being concerned with some mere ending, IMO, whole story with each character development matters. As story goes on, Xiang liu understood her loneliness and within life limits made sure atleast she won't be alone ever, which is what she wanted most. Tbh, there will be forever a sense of loss as title indirectly refers to her losing XL, maybe even remain unknown to his love & sacrifices.

Somewhat both as Captain Lei case is solved while
its cliffhanger is something different from other dramas as it won't make you feel incomplete but rather content and curious to know further mystery.

If February rumors turned out false, then seems to me, S2 will come out in August if they are following latest broadcasting rule applied previously.

I understand but they tried in some reality shows in start, still didn't make any difference. Maybe they will do it again for S2 for his publicity, but try as much they can, Considering character development, Jing fails to cause momentum, not effective as CX, XL, XY. So, Tbh, XL and CX are enough as mlds, which is evident by watching drama. There's a scene, when everyone was partying while Xiang Liu was fighting alone in cold night, trying to collect necessities for armies & people. Infront of cold harsh reality, that rich partying and lovey dovey moments fails. Infact, Jing is a 2 dimensional disappointing character. The notion of his 'happy ending' depends upon XL. So, I regret, blindly believing those biased fans made up delusional views, who dismissed xiang liu and his efforts as nothing. Xiang liu basically suffered and shouldered most burden of this drama/story.

@plor10 Indeed, there lots of scenes missing. Even in shortest screen time, XL still proves to be worthy. Some fans can't comprehend facts. Cang Xuan, Xiao Yao & Xiang Liu are capably strong characters, shining on their own. FL chemistry is naturally better with XL and CX while Jing somewhat depends upon others. I came with misconception that, this guy is handsome and wealthy, so FL ends up with him but after reading novel, realized whole truth. Production team tried to sell Jing Cp to boost his character for drama. Tbh, his inability to do anything has me frustrated, now I sympathize CX more, no matter how he turns out in end. Btw, considering leaked bts, I think end is same but that doesn't mean, I will deny other leads importance. Honestly, its better if they kept each XL scenes intact.

Does being immortal mean, she is obliged to accept these type of promises? Seeing her woman form, TSJ took opportunity to bound her in this promise cause of his jealousy & insecurities. What type of moral he teaches viewers? Btw, its 37 yrs. XL nurished her back to life with his blood while sacrificed 1 life.
