Who likes the "na na na" BGM that they never released? 🥲 I'm almost done stitching together a clean audio of…
Yes omg and thank you in advance! If it's also possible, are you willing to try getting Li Lun's instrumental OST, the one that plays often when he makes an appearance?
Yeah someone said that I don’t know what is wrong, I wanted jjy and joseph to have a love line 🥲
Oh whoops yes I see I misread your comment. Thanks for the clarification! Where is this confirmed btw? And is it really Joseph Zeng and Chen Duling when they share the same last name in the drama?
You have several points. My take:1. Bad directing. They made it look like everyone waited for him to get stabbed…
Yeah, I was shocked by the fight scene. I thought Yichen would've gotten up to fight again oof... And also I should add that I know Pei Sijing cares for Wen Xiao a lot and stayed by her side, but since Ying Lei was more in danger...
Wait, that Bai Jiu wanting to fix everything he did was the possessed Bai Jiu? Tbh, I am confused for a lot of who was the real and possessed one, even for Yichen lmaooo... I'm def rewatching and hopefully I can be better at telling the next time 😭
And yes I forgot about how weak Yuanzhou was but now after getting a reply about it I definitely understand better now!
There's only one cloud light sword and it was passed to Yichen. I don't think I can be wrong bc I've always thought…
Hmm... maybe there are two but I don't rmr bc it's been a long time for me lol I tend to forget things quickly! I've decided I'll rewatch this drama soon again too. This time I'll understand the drama better.
I’m still upset about some of the deaths. But I’ve come to terms with that each person chose their own path,…
Thanks for your reply! I like your insights and it makes me understand better. And whoops about Siheng bc I meant to say disappearance since I already knew that. Anyways, I can tell lots of things were cut for sure. But wdym the one where they mourn Ying Lei since it happened but it just was Yuanzhou that wasn't there? I also forgot to add that Pei Sijing was mourning for her brother, and wasn't it where Bai Jiu sacrificed himself? So where did she go? My curiosity rises lol...
I continue to watch the series, but it was said that two cloud light swords were made from ying long’s horns(if…
There's only one cloud light sword and it was passed to Yichen. I don't think I can be wrong bc I've always thought this (they should've mentioned this)
The more I think about it, the more disappointed and sad I am about how they did some of the characters' deaths... In my opinion, the directors / screenwriters didn't think well enough for some of them which I think could have actually been prevented.
1. Ying Lei's death shouldn't've have happened. The more I think about it, and also after reading some others' insights on it... Well, we have all the friends there (except Yuanzhou ofc). This probably ended up being the worst fight scene (even if it looked cool at first). Ying Lei was so selfless that he saved Yichen and got hurt instead. It was so touching but so heartbreaking. But then he kept on getting hurt. In my head, I was like hoping (and telling) the friends that the friends would take action and do smth for it to stop. But... well... Anyways, I was devastated. It could've been less damaging to Ying Lei and perhaps he may have not died...
2. Is it just me or I've just been wondering why we never saw Yuanzhou mourning for Ying Lei at all? I was waiting for it ever since Ying Lei left us :( Yuanzhou is my favorite character alongside Yichen too... I'm guessing it's just the directors / screenwriters forgetting about adding it (but if you think there's more to it, comment as you will)
3. I saw someone mention how if he just told Li Lun about the root (I forget what it's exactly about, I will definitely rewatch soon lol), then the fight probably wouldn't've likely happened. That means we could've still had Ying Lei :( Also, I know Yuanzhou got hurt during Li Lun's fight, but I have a question: Why did Yuanzhou not stay for the fight? Was he badly injured that he couldn't stay for it? Normally he's there to fight but wasn't this time.
4. Bai Jiu should've still been alive in the end. He didn't need to die like that! All the friends (for many episodes) worked hard to bring back Bai Jiu. When you look at it now, why when he ended up dying not long after? And you know, because of Bai Jiu's sacrifice for Yichen in the end, they make it feel like Ying Lei's sacrifice for him was for nothing... Like he sacrificed himself to save Bai Jiu... You would think that after Bai Jiu cried out for Ying Lei when he knew about his sacrifice for him that he would continue to live on for him... Ugh, I don't like the way this was executed... I also read somewhere that there could've actually been a solution to save Yichen which was Bai Jiu's mother in being the one to help him remove the magical protection... Also, y'all think about how we only saw Bai Jiu and his mother only once together (reunion) and that we didn't even get to see her mourn for Bai Jiu? ㅠㅠ
5. I'm not exactly understanding what caused Pei Siheng's death, but I did believe it was bound to happen. Was it his arm? Is it that without one body part of his puppet you will disappear? I didn't understand how that worked out. Would love some answers :)
Anyways... I couldn't be any happier that we'll be seeing 5 out of 8 of the main / big support roles reuniting again in "Painted Skin: The Resurrection"! It's gonna include Tian Jiarui, Chen Duling, Yanan, Xu Zhenxuan, and Lai Weiming! Since we're devastated about the ending and of the deaths, at least we'll get to see these three that died reunite (and "resurrect" xD)! And likely (hopefully) more screentime for Lai Weiming too!
Edit: Where was Pei Sijing when Bai Jiu was sacrificing himself? She just left like that? I guess the directors / screenwriters forgot about her...
If anyone wants something similar to this drama, with friendships like those among the characters and a male lead…
Dang, I remember reading the manga for it when it just came on the Webtoon app. I enjoyed it a lot. But I didn't get far as I tend to stop reading mangas quickly lol. Maybe I should pick it up again or even just read the books. Thanks for the recommendation!
Having previously watched Fangs of Fortune, I'm surprised we'll be seeing 5 out of 8 of the cast (main and big supporting ones)...
Tian Jiarui, Chen Duling, Yanan, Xu Zhenxuan, and Lai Weiming
Just the thought of their reunion makes me soooo excited! I hope this time Lai Weiming gets a lot more screentime in comparison! I've always been curious what it would've been like if he appeared much more in FoF. Despite his small appearance, he already has made me love and adore his character. Now here's to hoping seeing more of him 🙏
Haha I might be one of those people! I'm glad to know that someone from The Untamed page came across it and went…
Oh, I remember now. I remember also being confused about it bc they would call themselves that even tho that can't be there if it's a wuxia, but it was just bc they were different from humans in a way, almost like outsiders.
Glad you're liking The Untamed! It's a really good one! And Fangs of Fortune... yes, it's so good and it does…
So true. I love that it's not only bromance (BL) but sismance (GL). Like a combination of both is even rarer. The drama is even more fun bc of that. Really love the chemistry between the squad. It's so fun. You can ship anyone with anyone basically lol. My biggest ship is definitely Yuanzhou and Yichen xD Anyways, I'm so happy to know that The Untamed is going amazing for you hehe!
wowww.. i found this fangs of fortune from comment section in The untamed MDL. thanks for recommendation. i just…
Haha I might be one of those people! I'm glad to know that someone from The Untamed page came across it and went to check it out! I hope you continue bc it's really good! I find the chemistry here to be even stronger compared to those two BL costume dramas (that's just my opinion tho)~ But to correct you, there's no demon in Word of Honor since it's a wuxia, not a xianxia or xuanhuan :) Anyways, enjoy! And you're right, the introduction is really good, especially that of Yuanzhou and Yichen's first encounter that was of them fighting against each other ;)
I agree. Loved the drama for the acting of the cast, cinematography, and their banter. The plot was "standard"…
For some reason, I was just curious to see how you maybe rated this drama, and I'm surprised it's a 10 with all the complaints you have about this drama. What makes you give it this high of a score? I'm curious on your intake on this.
I first saw him in My Journey to You. Oh, I love how he played his character there so bad. He was incredibly amazing there. He was able to act as a spoiled person who loved and felt the closest to his brother and was always jealous whenever someone (particularly Shangguan Qian) would get close to him so well. He was able to show his character's quirkiness and also mischievous personality. That evil smile / smirk he often gave too. Oh, that was really smth. And the way he always suspected those Wufeng spies literally had me rooting for him. He was able to show that his character was not just all that peculiar personality but also a pretty smart / observant one at that.
Now onto Fangs of Fortune. This was one of my most anticipated dramas. But yk, it really exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect it to be this good to the point of rating it a 10 (which isn't that easy to rate a drama). I remember his first appearance and I already loved his character from the get go. I was loving how different he was here too. I could tell just by the first scene of his that I was going to love his character here. And indeed, I do. He plays such a complex character, layered with so many different emotions that are hard to master. He was able to convey every single emotion perfectly. Whether it was those very subtle expressions, the intense or extreme emotions of what his character was feeling, his shyness in either reactions or smiles, or even just simple tears of joy that just felt so authentic. I mean, every emotion he conveyed felt so REAL. I could FEEL it every time. That's what drew me in to his character and to him as an actor.
I really look forward to his future roles. I am surely keeping an eye on him. I forget he's even in "Take Me Where the Clouds Rise" which is a drama I've highly been anticipating. I can't wait to see how he plays his character there! I even heard he'll be in "Painted Skin: The Resurrection" which I am so looking forward to! Seeing so much of the Fangs of Fortune cast reuniting there and FoF being one of my top favorite dramas... Oh boy, am I EXCITED!!
Oh, and fun fact... We share the same birthday! Well, that's quite rare if you ask me. Maybe it's fate I found him and he became one of my favorites as an actor XD Anyways, yeah, really... I've come to love him even more as an actor after watching FoF! All those deep, authentic layers of emotions he put out there was beautiful. I could tell he put his heart into playing his character. Even he himself said it was really difficult playing his character and look at how well and perfectly he did! I love the contrast to his character in MJTY. He utterly has amazed me, and I believe he will continue to do even more astounding as he continues acting! Looking forward to more from him!

Anyways, don't tell me he's gonna have little screentime here too like Fangs of Fortune 😭🙏

I also felt the bromance was even stronger than the other historical BL dramas (personally)
