I started this only because it was filmed in my homeland, but it's just not good. Dropped after five episodes. Every character was just so unlikeable, each and every one of them.
am i the only one that finds this drama super overrated...it`s just so boring!
Not overrated. It's just not as perfect as people who love it sometimes insist. But it is still a wonderful piece of television, flaws and all, and deserves all the love and praise it gets.
I did not expect to like Rookie Historian so much, but it's a clear ten from me. At last, a love interest that is a decent human being and not an arrogant jerk. I enjoyed every minute of this. Very well put together, overall. Loved the ending. Even the comic relief was actually funny. Good stuff, good stuff.
I think its nothing big I mean if you have seen there's that past story where Seri was left alone at beach by…
I do understand why people would find not dedicating any time at all on Seri's biological mother frustrating. But I'm glad they did not. They make it such a huge deal because it is important to the characters of Seri's mom and Seri herself. It's fundamental to where they come from and how they develop. It explains the traumatic experience Seri had in her childhood, which was so formative for her. It is also used to show how loving and warm Seri's true nature was, as manifested when she was small, which she had to learn to connect with all over again as a grown-up. An explanation would be derailing from the main plot by a lot, since it would be a whole new sideplot and very much irrelevant to the main one. Soo Hyun's cameo was just fun, neither here nor there, they could afford that.

All of this is kind of irrelevant for the story though. Also, Seri's real mother is the one she grew up with, the one we see in the drama. She was not a good mother, but she was very much real and at the end they manage to find a way to have a relationship. Great choice by the writers, in my opinion. Seri may decide to look for her biological mother, but that's a story for another day.
one of the many things that confused me until the end was "how much of it was real and how much was fake?"...…
I'm sorry, I know that you get it (I've read the other comments), I just wanted to clarify the ''when was her hair dark'' part, since it was the one thing you seemed to wonder about. Again, sorry if I ended up just repeating something you already knew, Have a great time with your current watch :)

She got altsheimers gradually, until one day whe woke up very confused and started calling her son and his wife ''dad and mom''. A little time passed, she got worse and one day she disappeared (the ''rescue''), they found her and keep her at the hospital. She regains some lucidity thanks to medication and realizes what really happened. From the point when she started believing she was 25, until she regained some clarity in the hospital, she was still living with her son, and that's when she dyed her hair, went to him with lunch and defended him from the bullies, asked his forgiveness crying over his leg, etc.
I know yall people saying it was an amazing drama and all but, I just couldn't .I signed for a fiction rom com…
It's not being fooled. It puts you as a viewer in a place where you question what you have just watched, just like alzheimers patients question their own thoughts and memories. This is why people are being blown away. A whole new way of telling a story, appropriate to the story's main issue. That doesn't mean that everyone has to love it, of course.
This one, together with Once Upon a Time on a Battlefield, are amazingly hillarious anti-war comedies. The psychological warfare/taunting scenes in both of them are priceless. And they do throw a cow with a catapult, Monty Python-style.
