I had to take a break at 28. Just can't deal with every man she loves and trusts letting her down, disappointing her and outright breaking her because they choose what they want over what she (fl) needs. It is good because how painful the female leads life is feels brutal to watch. I will finish this, but seriously she never gets a good moment and I need breaks from that.
Well....on the positive side I can say it is a light watch as it's supposed to be a comedy and four handsome guys but.....and I mean BUT. The writters are pretty offensive in the name of comedy which I juuuust couldn't quite get past. 1) A nine year old husband....funny because of how gross that is? His character was hilarious but......9 y/o with a 21y/o...gross. 2)Absolutely trashing black people and in essence calling them ugly to make a joke of how dark the nanny/maid got? (Yeah they cut the joke but left the one episode where the very old nanny/maid is suddenly a young beautiful black woman). 3) Instead of trying to win the fl all five of the 'husbands' insult her, make her life difficult and reject her constantly. Do you find it funny when guys treat girls badly? No matter how comedically presented it landed the same for me as the joke about black people. Which is to say...NOT funny.
I wish they would stop portraying women in love as being doormats. In real life the women who accept bad treatment and wait years on end do not get valued. Sadly instead they live the hardest lives.Suffering will not get you happily ever after. Portraying this quality in drama and film as the best qualities of a woman.....if we emulate it, is setting ourselves up for a much harder life than it has to be.
This is a commercial and under 15 minutes no idea why it is listed here as a movie but if you are a serious fan of one or both of these actors you would want to see it I am sure.
I don't see what is the problem? The people that were hired to produce this drama all got their paychecks. The…
Ruuuuuthlesssss!!!! If investors lose money we lose out on watching enjoyment. I do not wish loss on people who have not activly caused harm in the world. That is wishing harm to a person for either trying to ensure their investment will be safe OR their personal preference. May no one wish harm to you for the same type of reasons.
you guys will do anything to delude yourselves into defending a serial rapist
Who is defending him? For real?? As I have no actual proof nor access to proof, I cannot say I know he is definitely a predator; it's possible that he is not and rather a victim of a sinister plot involving a LOT of people because he offended someone very powerful in politics or who has powerful political people helping them.... But reality is that it has been very common and constantly ignored for a very long time that rich and powerful men in or associated with film, fashion and music industries have been causing harm to women trying to enter or just beginning in these industries. In all countries. I find it more believable that he has harmed many women thinking people would continue to not care enough about young women. So for the love of God, please care about these women and try to make sure there are never victims of this in our collective future.
Hey MDL....I noticed you changed his nationality from Chinese to Canadian AFTER he was arrested. Care to explain? Born and raised in China until 10 years, attended middle and high school in Canada long enough to gain Canadian citizenship.....then immediately returned to his home, China. So while he was a star you only called him Chinese but now that he MAY have done wrong he is Canadian? Very disappointed please do better.
There are many feelings about this so after reading @Mudo's long comment I took some time to think. I do not think people should be fired over hearsay but in all workplaces/school when an accusation of wrong doing is put forward the person is suspended while it is investigated. This is how the real world works and is the responsible thing to do.
Although I am sure @Mudo did not mean to, their long post had some alarming tones of victim blaming, victim shaming, shrugging off bullying as not being extremely harmful and lastly calling for more sympathy and understanding for bullies.
Victim blaming: suggesting that the victim is more likely to just be being overly sensitive to unwanted words and actions. Bullying: suggested that it is a trend word and refer to above 'victims just needing to be thicker skinned'. About harassment, about stalking, about assault both physical and sexual, as well as intimidation (an example of this is threatening shopkeepers to cause harm unless they pay). When people bully they usually do all of these illegal activities so YES it should be taken seriously and YES it should be investigated, Just calling it bullying is minimizing criminal behaviours. We have laws for a reason and no one is supposed to be above them.
Victim shaming: by suggesting that when people kill themselves to escape the bullying or the fact that they are harmed by the bullying only because they have poor family background. This is not factual. Again and again families who are close and loving talk about their heartbreak over their beloved child being so harmed. About trying to get the bullying stopped and being powerless against a system that does not take bullying seriously enough. They talk about watching their once happy trusting child become unhappy and worse hopeless. The victims of bullying come from every kind of family. Bullies also come from every kind of family. People who committed suicide to escape assault, harassment, intimidation not because they have a 'poor family background.
And last, that we should understand the bullies pain that causes them to behave badly: I will say again, we have laws for a reason. Absolutely rehabilitate bullies, teach them it is unacceptable to do these actions in our society BUT catch them, stop them, and punish them. People are less likely to act out when they know they will be punished for their actions. Suicide happens because the young do not have enough life experience to know that eventually they will be old enough to escape it. But what if you cannot except the hate? Saying that the bullies are young...this fact makes the victims more vulnerable. The bullies know what they do is wrong. A 2 year old does not but a 5 year old does. It is still a choice they are making even if it is a bad choice while young.
In regards to punishment....I think we should go by the legal system. I do agree with @Mudo that there are shades of grey here but we have a legal system that has already decided which crimes will be punishable and for how long.
Sad as it is for those who bullied in ways that were harmful emotionally but not against any laws, I do think seeing that a price will be paid for such actions no matter how much time has passed absolutely will cause people to bully less. As I say this though my heart bleeds for any person who genuinely repented, made reparation to their victims and spent their lives helping instead of harming people. I hate the thought that this kind of person if they exist might be harmed by mistakes they had corrected but this will be the rare exception not the rule.
It is light and easy to watch for a break from all the heavy out there right now but if you want one predictable story from start to finish, this is not it. They kept it light but give you some extra styles of romance to enjoy all with the main leads. I am enjoying it. What I am not enjoying, is the horrible horrible circus music playing over most of the scenes. The jarring mismatched music causes you to miss all the emotion and depth this drama has. Brave the music at your own risk. I am not sure I will be able to finish this because of it despite liking the drama.
Then why so they cast young actresses opposite the veteran males? If they were looking solely for experience wouldn't they cast veteran female leads as well?
In regards to the young male actors though....the pretty but wooden ones all seem to be popular idols transitioning into acting. The ones who trained specifically to be actors are everything you are saying about the veteran actors; captivating and nuanced. I do not think they cast older male actors in these roles because of a lack of talent in the young actors, I think they do it strictly for financial reasons. Either they wanted a household name to guarantee viewership and/or the people financing the production wanted a name they are familiar with and like.
Uhm....the trailer shows the men doing physical things to her without her consent or knowledge which the law calls sexual assault as well as things to her the law calls sexual harassment and or stalking.
Just can't deal with every man she loves and trusts letting her down, disappointing her and outright breaking her because they choose what they want over what she (fl) needs.
