I've binge watched the show from season 1 to season 2 in one go and for me it was clear from the beginning who…

I guess I understand the main reason why the ratings have been horrible for this. For sure most viewers were biased…
Oh for.....why is everyone saying fl was selfish and convenient for doing the right thing emotionally (that was difficult for her) while never criticizing the ridiculously selfish male lead who consistently ignored her feelings and needs in a selfish toxic way? And his best friends feelings and needs in a selfish toxic way?
She is selfish for refusing a selfish toxic man and fighting her feelings so she does not end up with a charismatic hot selfish toxic man?
Ugh!

Ok I'll be completely honest I loved the first season just like other's but it's true season 2 wasn't as good…
It is concerning that people found 'chemistry' in the painful love that caused so much harm but did not like the slow burn of a healthy love where the guy brought himself to her attention and then wooed her, building her feelings one moment at a time. This is not a loud love but a lasting and healthy love. This is also love in rl.
Sunoh never ever considered her feelings, his best friends feelings, his girlfriends feelings. Even worse he kmowingly did what he knew would emotionally harm his loved ones because he decided only his feelings mattered. Because of this I was so happy with who she ended up with and them portraying a realistic slow build to love.
(Not looking to change your mind just love looking at opposing opinions so really appreciate your post). Thanks!

I completed that season last night and ever since then I have just been so upset?! I might write a review about…
The second season is the best part. For all those frustrated by the toxic male lead and family in season one...season 2 chooses healthy over toxic FOR ONCE in dramaland. And for once the ml who did not grow as a person does not end up with the girl. 👏
On Love Alarm Season 2 Dec 18, 2021
Ohhhhhh that ending made me so happy!!!
The rating on this is criminal.

The production, story, doing a brilliant job confronting very uncomfortable things about attraction, love and relationships, popularity in modern society being based on appearance rather than personal character or good deeds, contributions to society, of Character contributions and good deeds today being far less important thanpopularity to too many people.
This is so good.
But....if you need it to follow the usual drama formula, if you need the female lead to choose the usual male lead, and her emotions and needs always are of lesser importance than the male leads both by her actions and our male leads actions (I absolutely hate the constant subtle undercurrent in dramas that the female leads feelings and well-being are less important than the male leads and parents of either grrr).....well in you wanted that stereotypical drams then you will not love this. Facts.
But if you wanted the female lead to grow from the usual heartbreak, acquire some life wisdom (as you do from heartbreak at least hopefully) and choose the healthiest lead for her....well then you SHALL love this as much as I did.

And, yeah, you have to watch it to have ANY clue what I am talking about or even which male lead I am talking about. Insert evil laughter here.

The acting in this is pretty amazing. I never thought I would be won over to the side of cheaters but their love is so....perfect.
The worlds they live in are not.
This is slow moving and very expressive rather than verbal so of you need a lot of dialog and emoting in that dialog, big emotive actions...this might not be for you.
There is zero childishnes or 'misunderstandings'. This drama is adult behaviour as it would be in the real world.
I hated all the intrigue around them but do realise it sets the scene and explains the world they live in. It also makes things very slow (for me) but teases out the tension.
Personally had to start using the skip button to bypass all the intrigue surrounding them to get through this drama. Not because it too is not beautifully done, because it is, but simply because I dislike intrigue and the character types that indulge in it.

It tackled a whole lot of very uncomfortable social issues with comedy and grace. Many many layers if you can get past the cheesiness and that the humour is pretty dark by modern standards.
I understand why people did not like it if they did not get the subtlety of how they tackled so many issues humans deal with....or again it got lost in the cheese.
I have a very dark humour so I laughed...while my modern sensitivities were offended at the same time.
One complaint about Korean and Chinese dramas though; why does family abuser always just get forgiven and the abusive person never gets held accountable?
One gratitude is no childish jealousy or 'misunderstandings' pulling our leads apart. Everyone deals with life and grows.
This drama is misunderstood and much better than I expected.
But I got past the cheese and questionable humour.

That was so good. Going in my favourite Romances list.
But it was thriller you say, no it was a horror because virus, zombies, you say.
Nope. This was a romance from beginning to end.
Just taking place during a zombie virus pandemic. I want to say more about that but don't want to ruin anything. I will just say that the thriller and zombie component keep us on the edge of our seat and NOT misunderstanding, jealousy or any other 'the love was pretty weak' or 'the main lead(s) has a weak character'.
Both our main leads are good people even when dealing with bad people or bad situations and never waver in doing the right thing. They also never waver toward each other.
And of course.....you don't need to be here for the romance. The zombie part or the thriller part or the psychological part of how the people behaved, even with a bit of family thrown in, is all still great on it's own.

I am not into crime and it feels like mystery is added to EVERY single genre right now so it is annoying at this point.....but oh my god this cast is amazing so I am beyond tempted.

Mm it is not typical zombie show as it really humanises the zombies. I find them scary but not often. I recommend…
Ha ha I do not watch this at night you are so right. I am very glad it takes place during the daytime in the show too.

they're not that scary in this
Rude. All grown adults have fears. I hope no one mocks or insults you for yours.
Yours may seem childish to me because I do not fear it as you do but I will never belittle you or insult you for it.

Why can’t they just make a chinese historical drama about normal people in that time period living normal lives?…
Ha ha loved that about Chef Hua too.
The trouble makers felt totally realistic as did them having zero effect on the leads.
But all the chopping up and cooking animals while they are alive was straight traumatic for me.
On A Camellia Romance Dec 9, 2021
I was seriously enjoying this.
The leads chemistry was awesome, the comedic timing perfect, yes people were seriously interested in our main leads but they (main couple) never wavered or got all jealous and forgot their brains.
I mean you hate the nefarious jealous people trying to cause problems but they never manage to unlike soooo many other dramas.
So I could not understand what other people were talking about, this drama is GOOD....and then episode 20 happened. Followed by episodes 21, then 22.
We were so close, just 4 episodes from the end. Whyyyyy???

They just pulled the classic Kdrama move that drives me nuts; we watched the romance eevelop with lots of laughs, we got absorbed in the story and development of the main couple and then, once they overcame all their challenges....they are given a sudden impossible hurdle to overcome that just would not happen if the world the story is based in follows it's own rules. And all the laughs are gone. Everbody is miserable now for 4 episodes with one of two endings: doomed lovers never to be together or, more often in kdrama land, all the difficulty that was impossible to overcome resolves just as magically as it appeared and they live happily ever after.
But instead of the wonderful feelings you had during almost the whole drama...you are left with the bitter taste of heavy handed emotional manipulation that the happy ending could not sweeten.
But I was not watching a kdrama so what the beehive!?!

If you can drop without remorse definitely watch this until it feels nicely wrapped up because it is reeeely good....until it's not.
I don't regret watching because I liked most of it but I am skipping to the end and kind of wished I had dropped from either the end of Episode 12 or 7 minutes into Episode 13.
It was still okay for the rest of 13-19 but not AS awesome. Still funny but now more annoying drama. 20-24 though....well it might be your cup of tea but I am skipping to the end.
