also can someone tell me what co cultivation (dual cultivation) is? I saw it but I'm still confused like the brother…
An analysis from weibo regarding why Mingye and Sang Jiu don't clear up misunderstandings: At the start, Tianhuan was jealous Mingye didn't co-cultivate with her because she was more powerful deity and more 'pure', so they could reach "kenja time" (originally a Japanese term to mean sexual bliss) together. Cultivation at the immortal level is not as driven by physiological desire as it is for humans, or in this case, demons (Sangjiu), who are lesser beings compared to immortals. So when Mingye was cultivating with Sang Jiu, all he did was look for a place that was more secluded and had more 'qi'.

When Sang Jiu went to look for someone else to do cultivation with b/c of Tianhuan's sniping, it would be normal for Mingye to feel unsure and refuse to obtain clarification, because Sang Jiu is rejecting cultivation from pretty much the most powerful person in the immortal realm - can the God of War really stoop down and go clarify things like this? Especially when he's thinking about the war almost every minute of the day?

That is why the sex scene during their happy days vs. when Sangjiu initiated it is different - the immortals value cultivation as a psychological improvement and increase in 'qi', while demons still value it for the physiological happiness.

In Chinese, 40jin = 20kg, but that's still a lot. His armour also weighs at least 5kg according to his fanclub on twitter.

Even if he dies or not, he is destined to be the devil god, since he has the devil bones. The difference is, if…
I get the premise, but was just commenting on how I wouldn't be surprised that Tantai Jin 1.0 (the one cultivators were trying to stop in EP1) sold his soul to the devil - everyone treated him horribly, which exacerbated the situation. If someone showed him a sliver of kindness, he would've had a chance at becoming normal just by copying them, hence keeping the devil "under lock".

It's pretty clear from the paparazzi video that they're dating...you wouldn't act like that with someone you weren't dating, regardless of what they officially say. I think they're pretty cute XD
On Till the End of the Moon Apr 8, 2023
I saw a comment on twitter describing Tantai Jin as the lock on the devil god - since he can only be devil god if he dies, it's basically because the world was too mean to him, which caused him to unleash all evil...and after watching the first 8 episodes, I think that's true. No wonder he initially wanted to commit suicide in the dream scene - only his mother truly loved him.

I am enjoying this drama so much. Can these two leads date in real life already❤️
Bai Lu is already dating Zhang Linghe (costar from Ning An Ru Meng)...apparently that drama will air in a few months as well.

Honestly, why is this so BIG now? I mean, I was just casually waiting for this drama, because I love LYX. But,…
Because LYX's ability in period dramas are top 1 on a general level (from acting to visuals to doing his own ADR/ dubbing well) XD

Did anyone notice how much Dunhuang (which in itself is a mix of Buddhism and cultures from the Silk Road) art and culture have influenced this drama? Loved the scene where there was a Feitian flying towards the Immortal Realm in the second trailer!

Some key snippets from Luo Yunxi's interview vids posted on Weibo:
1. "The main romance is a mix of sweetness and tragedy - one moment they're deeply in love, and the next moment they may be arguing because of a misunderstanding, and sometimes even want to fight each other."
2. "TTEOTM has really utilised the culture and art from Dunhuang - as you saw from the 1hr edit (which only media people saw just then), we've taken a lot of inspiration from China's own traditional culture."
3. "Mingye (God of War) is successful in his career, and has spent his entire life on trying to eradicate the demons. He is responsible and does love Sangjiu very much, however he lacks some courage and lost many opportunities to fix his relationship with her." (A comment online said: it's because in a world where demons run free, he's already put his own life last, so doesn't have the courage to pull his lover into this mess)
4. Luo Yunxi knows fans have said that he's wearing wires just to hide the fact he can actually fly. He thanks them for their praise, but says that it's also because he enjoys the feeling of flying - his years as a ballet dancer have also helped him be more in control of his body, and the professionalism of the stunt team have also helped greatly.

Can someone ask the admins to merge the two Till The End Of The Moon pages? Because with NRTA's new regulations, dramas cannot exceed 40 episodes in length. TTEOTM will actually run for 40 episodes x 50~55 minutes each, so there is no Part 1 and Part 2. (a lot of reliable melon accounts on Weibo have posted about this).

Title Broker
Was on the verge of dropping it, but Ep 11 is good. Zhou Xiaoshan is starting to take charge of the relationship, and the main couple is HOT in the Ep 12 preview. From the drama calendar, it seems like they get together in Ep 15, and there's heartbreak at around Ep 18...hopefully the dramatic spy plot will kick off before the halfway mark.

WWT was still editing Episode 26 in January (2 months into filming) based on feedback, but producers weren't pleased with the outcome.

I also read WWT's weibo post defending himself, but to be honest, just based on the logic of his entire essay and the use of the Chinese language, I believe Liu Shiba's stance more than his.
On Love Is Sweet Oct 29, 2020
There's a feud between the script editing team (Liu Shiba, Zhang Lingxi, Lianzheng) from producer Jinhe/GH Entertainment's side and the first-billed screenwriter (Wang Wentong). Basically the editing team is only responsible for final editing touches, but ended up re-writing all 36 episodes.
Rough summary:
1. First copy of the script was created by Liu Jinfei (described as a middle-aged male screenwriter), and he basically set up the key themes: Decade-long crush, Wolf (YS) vs Lamb (JJ), hero is a protector to the heroine who is allergic to tears and bickering couple in the investment banking industry. He was responsible for writing the popular line Wan Shan used to ridicule the hypocritical Du Lei in Episode 9: "You do bad things, but still want to pretend you have a good reputation."

2. After the producers decided to make this a complete rom-com and focus on the romance while removing a lot of the office sub plots, they hired a new screenwriter Wang Wentong to edit the first copy.

3. The script editing team suggested a lot of changes to WWT's version: Eps 1-5 was still based on Liu Jinfei's version, so they were okay with it. The team rewrote Ep 7-10 because WWT completely ruined Du Lei's character, so they came up with a new idea and focussed on a fauxcest line between Du Lei and Linda. From Eps 11 to the end, WWT's version was "complete rubbish" so Liu Shiba's team basically took over after the producers gave the go ahead.

4. The central plot of the second half in WWT's version: Yuan Shuai wanted to win Du Lei, and was responsible for forcing a group of ordinary workers to go on strike against their company. Jiang Jun thought this was too much, but she couldn't stop Yuan Shuai either. It ended with a worker committing suicide, and Yuan Shuai had to go overseas for a couple of years. Basically rom-com turns into a torturous melodrama. During the first script reading session, LYX even asked the editing team whether this was going to be changed, because he didn't think Yuan Shuai would do such a thing (fun fact: actors rarely get to read the full script before signing the contract).

5. The last six episodes followed the novel's setting only because there was no time left. However, the editing team still wanted to create something sensible after seeing WWT's terrible script (that was mostly revolving around point 4 above and pregnancy vs. preparing for pregnancy) , so they decided to take some of the novel's ideas and focus on discussing prejudices about women working too hard vs. housewife roles.
