Tantai Jin is still in the part where he's transitioning from a deep learning AI to a normal human being that is liked by everyone. Take one step wrong and he can go pyscho too - we cannot treat him like a normal human with a good conscience. he said underneath the bridge that he's willing to be a good person, as long as LSS continues to like him.

She thought Tantai Jin leaving the army camp was to attack Xiao Lin (not the Sheng emperor), so went to notify him. Also because Xiao Lin looks like Senior disciple brother Gongye Jiwu from 500 years later, who also died saving her from Devil God, although they may not have made it obvious while acting the scene

He used to be a ballet dancer (lifting ballerinas anyone..) and kept his core muscles intact after leaving the dancing industry.

Tantai Jin's logic as to why he is acting in such a way is very different from the novel. For example, why does he want to be a good King of Jing when he's supposed to be crazy? Because:
1. He wants utmost power, and doesn't want to be stepped on like in his hostage prince days
2. From his days in the Sheng palace, he knew what a fool the King of Sheng was, and how dreadful commoners' lives are (at Xiao Lin's wedding, he witnessed a grandpa getting kicked by the stupid fat Sheng prince just because his grand daughter was in his way) - he doesn't want other people to live like he did
3. He still has the undercurrents of a 'crazy devil' but he is willing to act as a "good king" so more people can like him. He's had enough of being called a monster with no heart.

Luo Yunxi really pays attention to detail - the director said just go ahead with the kiss, but LYX designed Susu's reaction (flinching away), and the slow kisses while watching her reaction to see if he was truly loved.

At this point in the show, she's supposed to be a bit angsty between her mission to kill him and her growing affection for him...haven't seen the latest episode so can't tell if it's obvious enough (when I read the draft script floating around on the web it was pretty obvious that was what she'ssupposed to be feeling)

Another detail relating to Fleeting Life dream arc: Why was Mingye waiting so long above Huangyuan before jumping down?

Because:
1. When the 12 ancient gods were fighting the Devil God 1.0, they used all the powers to push Huangyuan underground, and have set a spell so that no one who enters Huangyuan can leave. Mingye was hesitating because if he jumps down, there will be no gods left to defeat evil. Then he realised that the Devil God has disappeared and evil bone removed, so the world has no use for the God of War. Hence he jumped down, and was prepared to die there with Sang Jiu (before Jize helped them leave). This is why Tianhuan was not worried about Mingye coming back, and took over the Upper Immortal Realm with her snake tribe.

Note: Jize is currently holding fort, but it's getting cracks after 10,000 years, which is why the purple fox could escape after sacrificing 2/9 tails. After he gave LSS the tips about how to kill Tantai Jin, he said that he can only keep Huangyuan locked underground for 300 more days. When LSS comes out of Huangyuan, a few months have passed already (season change), and Kingdom of Jing and Sheng were fighting for a while already.

AIRING SCHEDULE UPDATE:
From tomorrow, we get a total of 6 episodes a week.
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 1 episode every night at 6pm
Tuesday: 2 episodes at 6pm

Rewatched the Fleeting Life dream arc, and worked out the following:
1. Mingye was so heartbroken he almost became a devil (the icicles that were surrounding him, the left eye was red and the right eye was blue)
2. Then he saw Sang Jiu's memory of him, and decided to stay as the heroic God of War, because that's the Ming Ye SJ fell in love with. This is the point at which MY dies, and Tantai Jin awakens.
3. However, Tantai Jin is still immersed in Mingye's story, and he was using Mingye's thought process while talking to imaginary Sang Jiu.

Alternative theory: It was TTJ that was too immersed and took the decision to turn Mingye into a devil. That's why when he came out, he said becoming a devil is only a thought away, but it's not my decision to make. Mingye should always be SJ's god of war.

Drama would never be allowed to do that. This was also v1 of the novel, official version doesn't have this scene. Characters should be viewed separately and not judged based on the novel haha

War between the twelve ancient gods and devil god 😈

There will never be a 10 ep long xianxia drama, purely because they won't recoup the costs... pacing issue in dream arc yes, but talk to anyone who's been watching TTEOTM and no one will say that the story is draggy. There's so much information to process ppl are saying it's too fast.

Can we actually chat about the drama itself? Let Avenuex think what she thinks, it's not like she's the source of truth and respected judge of all Cdramas. I think directing, lighting and editing leave much to be desired, but acting, costumes ( based on Dunhuang culture, not games) and overall script logic is some of the best in recent years, otherwise it wouldn't be breaking viewership records on all the random charts that Cdramas are judged by in China.

It's just refreshing to see a psycho male lead in xianxia - pretty much the first, and I think luo yunxi has definitely improved since AOL and Princess Silver.

I would hold onto that thought...maybe wait until the end to see if XL was really under her spell and didn't love her just as ordinary YBC :)

That's why I'm happy and emo at the same time. Happy that the litttle devil is starting to feel human emotion, sad that everytime his emotions get stronger, it's one step closer to death.

Mingye and SJ have completely different perspectives because they are people from two different worlds. Mingye's whole world is about defeating devils - all his comrades died on the battlefield. Therefore his initial reaction to SJ becoming a devil was to help her cleanse the devil essence and regain her divine essence, which is what SJ's father wanted in the first place. Except SJ is more about fulfilling her feelings at this point in time and taking revenge.

You're talking about the Mingye from the novel. He let her go because he was 100% certain he would die along with the other ancient gods during the war of the demons (he would have, if SJ didn't find him), and didn't want her to be a widow.

Her clan can't be resurrected anyways, because she became a devil only after taking the powers of her dead beloved family. Plus, SJ also threw the ten thousand year old ice block away because she didn't want Mingye to sacrifice anything more for her.

I personally can't wait for the second half of the war against the Devil God, where all the gods are working together towards the one goal, and don't even care if they are sacrificed in the process. It's also interesting how the Devil God's goal is not to conquer the world like other villains in xianxia dramas - he is so fed up with all the emotional garbage from the whole world that he just wants peace and quiet, hence why he is destroying everything.
