So they marketed it as xuanhuan + wuxia, not just wuxia. How I see it is that it does have SOME xianxia elements,…
Just to update, celestial realm are demi gods at most, not gods, because they were originally uprooted from Earth (Shenzhou) and are slowly shrivellingto death in the drama. Their whole quest for longevity was what caused everything in this show.

Added this in my all in the details discussion thread too, but a thought on why the missing cook was never found:

Back at Zhoudi Tower, Tang Lici wrote Fang Zhou's name, so that became his initial obsession. Liu Yan wrote Tang Lici and his own name, and that was Liu Yan's obsession. Fu Zhumei wrote his own name, so he made the conscious decision to stay away and live his own life away from jianghu intrigue.

I saw a screencap that showed in the very end, Tang Lici was still holding the doggie tea pet (representing Chi Yun) 😭

Title Whispers of Fate Spoiler
Btw, for those who finished; questions; I’m guessing we sadly lose CY in 38 but by the time the peach bitch…
Yes it's been created and Liu Yan left it with Miss Hong. She, Zhong Chunji, Xue Xianzi and Shen Langhun work to deliver it across jianghu - I think it was a very short scene somewhere near the end.

Title Whispers of Fate Spoiler
I have a question. In episode 40, TLC says to the antagonist after the battle: ‘See you next time, you will…
It's because Tang Lici is using the powers of himself as a perfect celestial being+powers of the bronze tree connecting to the celestial realm to turn back time even further than all the attempts so far - back to the very very beginning where the Celestial Realm didn't leave Shenzhou at all. Therefore no holy son, no YQYY (i.e. he is a mortal).

Congratulations to stupid makers of this show that now everywhere on social media People especially international…
That's because you clearly love romance (based on the 3 you listed), but this is not a romance show. Whispers of Fate is a show about letting go of obsession, finding your purpose, and seeing everything from a different perspective. Yes, they could've at least shown Ah-shei's ending in the present timeline, but her letter ending with "Do not disturb me" + giving up the stone that extends her life (which Tang Lici doesn't know about) implies that she has a limited lifespan, which is basically closure for a supporting character.

Love the final dialogue between Tang Lici and Ye Mo, they are like two sides of the same coin. Tang Lici's ending actually makes sense.

So, Tang Li Ci's actions inside the time machine affected reality after all ?
Yes.

Posted the actual timeline Tang Lici told Gui Mudan in ep33 in details discussion thread to avoid spoilers. I think consensus is YQYY can control time

So episode 31 was what Luo Yunxi was talking about when he mentioned Tang Lici loses faith and makes the transition to super ego state. Trying to resurrect Zhou is just one aspect of Tang Lici trying to defy destiny and prove he has everything innhis control, and can take control of his life.

Tang Lici is adamant that he can save one person and everyone to prove the fire-breathing dragons wrong. However, the dragons cackling under their breath that he cannot escape his destiny as a sacrifice for the Celestial Realm is basically the title "Whispers of Fate."

Was Ashui really Fang Zhou's sister in the novel? Or did they just add it in here to make her character closer…
The latter
On Whispers of Fate Nov 11, 2025
That's it. Liu Yan is officially stupid and selfish, because he cannot bear the fact he was used and wrong from the very start.
On Whispers of Fate Nov 10, 2025
Tang Lici clearly wants to live. He wants to live! Any self-sacrificing decision is because he's not just thinking of his own personal obsession anymore. Screenwriters please make his wish come true 🫠

Apart from the misattribution of arousal, I really get why Zhong Chunji idolizes Tang Lici. Look at what the mentor says: "If you stumble, get back on your feet. Let those who mock you laugh. Once you find your breakthrough and things turn bright, the past's harsh battles will seem like nothing more than a passing storm."

I am not at that episode yet but what happened to her in ep 19? Did she seem out of character killing people?…
Zhong Chunji has been insulted too much, and she's always been sensitive about her background. She lost her job at Sword Society because at the time they didn't like Tang Lici and consequently didn't like how she supported him. In EP 19, she wanted to kill House of Pleasure lackeys so they could see how hard she was working, but Puzhu pointed out that she shouldn't kill the remaining lackey who has already surrendered, forcing him into a dead end.
