I think by putting himself first he meant when it comes to the disappointment and what Akk really wants. Akk has likely been brainwashed and might not care about his reputation in reality. He seems broken (cause he doesn't want to hurt anyone) by the pressure of doing these things he was probably told to do for the good of the cult...I mean school.
I was thinking Ayan might have had a feeling Akk was misguided...not selfishly doing things. He even asked if he was brainwashed this episode.

I was wondering why Ayan didn't expose Akk. Of course he probably thought there was a bigger fish to catch, but I wonder if he has an idea about the cult situation.

It makes sense for him to do crazy shit cause he's brainwashed in da cult life. It didn't occur to me it was a cult situation. They probably don't do that ceremony with all the perfects. Just the chosen ones. The ones they can manipulate easier. To let them manipulate their own friends. Best way to do it.

This might be true. I watched the first half and then watched the rest all at once. Mainly because I was busy, but I didn't feel like it was filler. It mixed well with what other characters were doing in their own stories.

Oh, I like how Asukas story ended. It looks like a type of relationship that will be well out of the norm. There are situations similar to that even if it's rare...so it's nice to see.
