Ep. 39 I didn’t like they make Yuru into damsel in detress type I hate this kinda scene where they take FL held…
She wasnt even suppose to be there. That scene had no LY in the book. LOL given how many direct quotes from the book were used, that scene was very different. But it worked well enough and we got screen time for LY when her real part of this arc has been completely removed.
It looks to me like he will probably die in episode 39 or beginning of 40. Pacing wise, Id imagine his funeral…
In the book, not really. GJ and LY figure it out themselves. LZS has no idea till his final fight with his dad. JH was saying this in front of people but it wasnt like a formal public acknowledgment.
Can someone spoil the ending for me?Does it has happy ending for the female and male lead?Does it have a love…
Last two episodes air in a few hours. It should be happy for our leads. No love triangle where FL or ML care for anyone other than each other. But they both have people with crushes on them. The primary villain is enamored with the FL. No break up. But due to their careers and politics they do have long separations later in the drama. Its condensing a huge book into just 40 episodes. The separations may be long for the characters but they never last more than an episode. Final ending is our ML and FL continue to support the kingdom along with the new emperor into a golden age of peace.

Family loyalty. The uncle owes him a debt for having abandoned all the different times he abandoned him. And traitor is a perspective. If he was doing this to another country on behalf of daxia we might view him as a noble spy.
Decidedly not. They have a life saving mouth to mouth moment in ep 15 that is not a kiss. So they may mean that.…
Lol. Doozy means something very good. I could also have chosen to say epic, badass, wicked, fire, awesome, fantastic, radical etc. I just like the word doozy. Its fun to say. And it is one of the best drama kisses. I have seen better but this is really good. Its definitely not a dead fish kiss.

I dont know they will have the funeral in the drama. I dont think they did the funeral out of love in the book. Basically JH had a spot saved for the woman he loved. Since she married someone else she was buried in that family. The Gu family decide to bury LZS with his dad under the name his father would have given him. Its a pretty solemn mini arc that kind of ties into LY’s decision to use the money she makes in the future to build a world where people dont turn into another LZS or his sworn brother. Basically keep the kingdom happy, peaceful and give support to the poor and abandoned. GJ also supports this goal since that is why he is committed to being in politics. Id be kind of disappointed if they dont have the funeral.
Does the LZS story end in episode 39? Or will there be a little more of him in 40? I think it ends at 39.
It looks to me like he will probably die in episode 39 or beginning of 40. Pacing wise, Id imagine his funeral in episode 40. Thats a great scene in the book.
The plot of this drama is too beautiful to ignore. Like I don’t care anymore if there’d be intimate scenes…
Yeah. Im really enjoying it as a story in its own right. I already ship our boys but even if the story stays heavily platonic bromance, its still a great coming of age-found family story. I also thought their relationship in the book was toxic. While I wish they would go full realistic physically intimate romance, Im not hurting for not having to deal with a-lot of the book origin scenes. I can understand why fans who love all of the book hate this version pulling back. It sucks when something you love gets over censored and changed.
How come I think the martial arts battle scenes in episodes 37–38 are not good, not as cool as during the battle…
I liked them. They did have fewer soldiers? I expect we may get more in episode 39. Maybe that’ll be the bigger set piece youd expect for the end of an arc.
No. In book she wasnt a general like this. She was orphaned in the civil war and traveled all the way to his hometown in the hopes hed honor their engagement even though she now had no family to back her. He did. They loved each other. Later the Zhou ladies and the youngest son Ping get taken hostage. Mrs Zhou tried to run her son away and got killed. QW and Ping were held alive on the wall to hold back the Zhou army. Rather than let their lives destroy the Zhous and their army, QW grabbed her little brother in law and jumped off the wall using her body to cushion him. He survived and she died. It was way more heroic and amazing given she was not a fighter than I have described. I like both her book death and the awesome fight they showed in the drama. Both highlight her loyalty and bravery in defending the Zhous. If she survives in the drama, somehow, Id be super happy even if its just as crazy and under explained as how LY’s mom lived.
My friend said there is only dead fish kiss scenes between main lead. Is this true ?
Decidedly not. They have a life saving mouth to mouth moment in ep 15 that is not a kiss. So they may mean that. First kiss is episode 27 and its a doozy.
If GJS knows the order to conquer Nanzhou was a fake order to kill General Zhou, why wouldn't he tell him that?…
They were doing that and than a rule was passed requiring them to wait so much time before airing the second half that a lot of producers dont think its worth the expense. Given the book is really good maybe in a decade or so we’ll get a remake that does the full story. But it would be sad without these leads.
This is ridiculous. Wasn't LZS effectively banished? How can he waltz in and out of the palace like that and even…
It actually does make sense but it was not shown well. They forgot to show us all the background deals he was making while sneaking around before, during and after his stint as Grand Tutor. He has a huge network of people to rival uncle JH and LY’s spy network. He was able to gain control over the palace.
Will Zhou Gao Lang learn that Fan Xuan had passed the Throne to him, but Fan Yu usurped it and sent him on a suicidal…
There is an imperial edict somewhere only the drugged up eunuch dude knows that shows Zhou Gaolang should be emperor. In the book the prince was suppose to be emperor but daddy Fan had a second edict allowing Zhao to remove him if he failed the people. GJ got a hold of that edict and met Zhou’s army at the gate to stop them from invading the capitol and damaging the people. With that edict he could lawfully enter and it was to his benefit to protect the people. GJ also convinced stupid baby Fan to surrender willingly.
Fan Yu really thought that being emperor was going to be fun and games? Now he’s expected to actually work,…
Equally Fan Xuan and LZS. Its not clear in the drama but FX literally spent zero time with his son. He just expected him to magically absorb values instead of trying to teach them. The kid does have weak character and he isnt clever. But having a dude drug and gaslight you repeatedly for years will screw up even the strongest person.
