It does fit into that ideology. But its also just a smart move. They both believe they can rebuild their fortunes. They needed to get the target off their back that was their current fortune. I think lots of people could make that move if they were confident in their abilities rather than just their wealth.

It has arcs. First 16 is one arc. Now we are in a new arc and back at the beginning of the build up in momentum. Plus now they are more focused on their careers than their various relationship concerns. They both know they are each others spouse for life. They will just slowly progress through all the milestones of their relationship. Very slowly.

The middle school puppy maturity level newbies kissing?! LOL, it’ll be a while longer. Her health, their career priorities and their combined inexperience make their relationship progress very slow. Best part is its steady. So we will get there.

You are right its not wuxia. Its a business/kingdom building story. The first arc was how they got married with the climax being the start of the civil war. The new arc is rebuilding their strength for the good of the people. The book was way more dense on politics and business. Its very slice of life this way. You will get more action. Especially as we head into the end of this arc and the next arc. But most episodes will probably deal with their day to day problems living in a civil war torn country. I will say you probably will find large chunks slow if you prefer fight scenes.

Its not action packed every episode. More like slice of life in the middle of a civil war. Its all about the small troubles and gains they face while the world is going to hell. And how they make it better for themselves and other people. If you like stories about honorable people who are funny while working in their day to day, I’d advise you keep watching. But if you like excitement and quick pacing, this will probably feel draggy outside of the climax of each arc. And it is split up into arcs. That is why it started slow and than the middle teens felt so action packed and than it slowed down again. We are at the beginning of a new arc.

What credit did they take that belonged to others? GJ is boastful but I haven't seen either him or LY take credit for someone else’s actions.

Found out who his real father was. All the tragedies that led to his miserable life were his grandfather and fathers fault. And every bad thing he did was just like them. Than he dies in a fire with his dad.

No idea. Its a new plotline that didn’t exist in the book. We are all waiting to find out.

I think you are right in the sense that it would have been difficult and possibly dangerous to try. They may have succeeded, they may not have. The thing is most people would have tried. Madame Liu had just saved their lives. Making no attempt to try speaks to a level of cowardice and disloyalty that is hard to forgive. I actually don’t like this subplot because of how cut and dry it is. If they had tried and not succeeded and the concubine was fearful she would be blamed so made bad choices, that would be more compelling. As it is, she’s a one note villain. I have a suspicion of where they are taking her character and its going to leave the audience feeling shes pure evil. But like you said, not helping isn't unreasonable if it endangers them or cant work. They just didnt show that at all with the cliff scene.

You want to savor the magic of every moment but also get to the next moment faster? Cause that is how I feel. :-p
