this is drama focused on woman, please dont make too obvious that some of y'all hate your own gender (fem)
Haha! I think some of them just like the pretty and talented actor playing ML. What makes me laugh is every time I read the complaint about this being too focused on the FL, I think “but there was way more FL stuff in the book.” Really this drama feels like its split the attention almost 50/50. Sometimes it even feels like the ML is getting more than 50% of the focus. But all in all I really like how they’ve developed the focus for both characters.
In half of 23 and the whole ep of 24, did they just forget about ML? Seriously? No single scene of him. I almost…
This was many chapters of the book. They’ve shortened and streamlined it a-lot. I was actually expecting like 3-4 whole episodes of just this adventure which GJ didn’t go on. I thought the way they did the love letters was smart. And he’ll be back next episode. Its really only one episode of no ML appearance.
I'm glad that ye yun actually stabbed him again after the villain realised he was being assassinated. I've seen…
Got to love YS. He always comes through. Little concerned dad really is dead now. How LY’s mom lived is how GJ’s dad lived in the book. But maybe they have another twist coming.
Why did Luo Zi Shang choose to help Song Yi? Thought he want to revenge Gu’s family?
Because it helped LZS take over. He helped Wang into power because he knew Wang was the kind of idiot who’d abuse that power and be easy to overthrow. His goal is to take over the province. Thats why a few episodes ago he started doing things that made it seem like he didnt support Wang’s bloodbath and excessive actions. That way LZS will have the backing of the surviving merchants and nobles when he makes his bid for power. I liked this arc a little better in the book but they did a decent job adapting it to fit with the changes they’ve made to the drama.
It was amusing to watch Bandit Shen Ming's scenes. I am glad he was pardoned by old Fan and Old Zhou. I hope he…
Actually that part was pretty accurate to the book. Thanks to his different contacts and perspective as a Bandit he knew about what things LY had done for the people that city dwellers didnt and just decided she would be his sworn sister sight unseen. Its an even funnier scene in the book when she figures out who he is talking about.
More will be revealed later. If they follow the book, his hate is misplaced but it was due to a lack of all the…
If you want spoilers on the revenge reasons check the forum topics above. There is one that has great details on the book. And they’ve changed enough for the drama that we’ll probably still have some surprises.
ep 12. I see why JS didn't grow up. His parents adore him and for that reason they sheltered and spoiled him too…
More will be revealed later. If they follow the book, his hate is misplaced but it was due to a lack of all the facts. Definitely had some hateful stuff happen.
Li ZinXe was better as Tang Lian in TBoY, here Shen Ming is pretty much a dumbass, LOL. And they never told us…
He’s working under ZY. Thats what was decided when the boys convinced Fan and Daddy Zhou not to kill the bandits who hadn’t murdered anyone. And SM is the archetype who strong and loyal but not able to see the big picture. He gets to do a-lot of bad ass stuff and be the comedic relief.
I'll give a couple of comments on this drama1) I've seen a number of comments saying this drama is boring or slow,…
What is funny, is this is more balanced than the book in terms of ML or FL led. I feel like because they changed an important LY plot point right at the beginning we arent getting as much LY as we could have. I love the dialogue. The book had alot of internal thoughts and plotting. This communicates that.
Just thinking. Not just in this drama also in most dramas, why just add randomly a lot of fl admirers/ potential…
She doesnt really have a lot of admirers. The most obvious are her almost fiance and the antagonist. Her childhood fiance didnt love her. He did like her. Like a sister. The antagonist idealizes her. She had a moment where a bandit thinks she’s pretty. Thats really it. The male lead was too overbearing for most girls to idealize him. One hardcore admirer, the princess, really likes him. I do agree its weird that SMLs get to be nice and/or evil. Where as FMLs rarely get to be anything other than crazy.
Before I watch this I just wanted to ask, is there a lot of tragedy in this drama?
Not consistently. Most episodes are consistently slice of life. However, each arc of the story does build up to dramatic climaxes. And the few episodes with tragedy really punch you in the gut.
My statement about the target was situational. You totally nailed it in your assessment of the situation prompting them. Im did not intend to suggest they should get rid of their wealth if they move after earning it again. Although if in a similar situation they might. Lol, and as far as I can see capitalism and communism have the same basic flaw: neither benefit anyone but a minority when allowed to run unchecked because of how easy it is for the corrupt to take advantage. Buts that not really a drama comment.
I don't think I've seen anything like this. What do you mean?
Okay that makes sense. Yeah I feel like he deserves it not just for going alone but because he reported the bad guy instead of covering it up. Than he went alone with no guarantee the army would catch up to him or even follow after him once the grain was secure. But I also think they played it well by showing Fan wanted him to keep succeeding in becoming a good official and win his bet with Zhou. The promotion is just putting GJ in a better place now that he’s proven he has the making of a good official. I didnt catch that part with the bandits body. I just caught GJ and LY were happy to have survived and see each other. SM is crazy enough to kill someone grinning. I’ll have to rewatch that scene.
