I wonder though, the smell or the taste? HAHAHAHA
I wonder what's the word play why they chose Du Ri An. Probably the character is like the fruit? Judged wrongly on the outside but is diverse on the inside?

I mean, they chose “Ms. Durian” for the English title, so it must be a word play.

I wonder though, the smell or the taste? HAHAHAHA
Yep. The tree is fine. It's the smell of the fruit that I can't stand.

The taste… IIRC, I've only tasted a sweet durian once. LOL. So, I still avoid it, even the processed juice sold by brands like Tang. Haha.

Title Durian's Affair Spoiler
Something I'm confused about.
So, the first two time travellers were the first two who jumped, correct?

And those shown in the episode 2 preview are the two other ladies running after them?

There are 4 time travellers in total?

Title Durian's Affair Spoiler
I don't know if I'll laugh or what. ROFL.
1. That was a very interesting family meeting.

I mean, if you want to gender reveal, you definitely do it on the 70th birthday of the person you love who happens to be your mother-in-law. Hey, age doesn't matter, right?

And you know… they all repeatedly said she was all wrinkles and only a day or two ago… before her treatment.

But, hey, like it or not, I think the family handled it well. They did not discriminate against her, the issue was… they're mother/daughter-in-law and… well… the age gap. It was not about her gender, it was not about her as a person.

2. All this time I thought there was some person who needed help, and it was a chihuahua.

No, I have nothing against people treating their friends like a human child. Rather, they set the scenes and expectations in a certain way, and then surprise!

3. Ghosts.

Well played.

On See You in My 19th Life Jun 25, 2023
If there is one thing that I really, really, super, duper, admire with the FL, is that, she is strict with her rule that her current life is who she currently is.

I'm thinking nothing good comes out of telling people that s/he was their friend/lover/sibling/child/parent. A very valid reason. However, there is no fear in her that points to that.

Instead, it seems that she is keeping her past lives to herself, simply because she just wants to be who she currently is. Not the previous life, but the “now” life.

That is hard, especially in the rare cases wherein she is reincarnated too close to her previous life, like right now in her 19th life.

You obviously want to reconnect with the people you love in your previous life. But, you know deep inside that if you do, they wouldn't see you as you are now, rather, they will see you as your previous life. Which is… well… not you anymore, no matter how many emotions and good memories you might have had.

The FL is strict to the point that she ended up having hallucinations of reconnecting with her previous life mother and sister.

She only bent her own rule in her 19th life when she was a kid because of her dire situation. If she did not, she probably would've died again, or her 19th life ended up as her worst to date.

I don't think I will be able to hold myself the way s/he can if I were in her shoes. Knowing that much, I will not hold myself back to just performing as the “genius kid”, I will work my way around different aspects of society and use my knowledge to manipulate people, circumstances, and everything.

To the point that, in my next life, I already have a system to prove my next life, thus taking over the system I created with my next life. Eventually building my own empire. (For example, I'm the only one who knows 100 passwords.)

I wonder how long the FL can keep herself in check. I'm more interested in how she's going to handle her situation than any other part of the story.

Is this good so far? I need a good funny rom com after watching 14th episode of Destined T_T.
It's hard to tell if it's more on the comedy side at this point (ep3). So far, it is leaning more on the romance side.

Also, they are focusing more on how the two idols are a good pair. They are highlighting their charms as a real life person more than their respective fictional character.

In the latter episodes, this will of course change, but as of episode 3, they are still using the two idols' charms and popularity to keep interest in the show, since the story itself is a slow build up (and is not yet interesting even).

We'll see.

They look cute together. I wonder if they would have dated if there were no rules against dating during their time as idols.

SNSD + 2PM = they would've become the most popular idol couple.

how much scary Is this drama?because i love Kim Tae Ri and i would like to see It but i don't like horror especially…
Episode 1 is not enough to judge that there won't be “jumpscares”.

Remember this, Asia-Pacific suspense, thriller, horror, supernatural, live-action productions are NATURALLY scary. We are experts in it.

There were already a few scenes in episode 1 which would have scared people who did not grow up here in Asia-Pacific, but for us are just pretty much expected already.

Basically, episode 1 was toned down. And it remains to be seen if they will keep it toned down for the next episodes. ^_^

Actually, I am expecting the scare scenes will ramp up in intensity. They already hinted it in one particular scene, and Kim Tae Ri did well in it.

There are no jumpscares. Its like a fun but not funny horror drama.
It's only episode 1.

Also, what is not a "jumpscare" for you, can be a “jumpscare” for another. ;)

Title Revenant Spoiler
How does the ML knows that the ghost latched onto the FL is the same ghost that killed his mother? Is it like…
There was a hint in the beginning of episode 1 when the FL's father was running home scared and checked his notes.

1. The evil spirit is unique.
2. Was supposed to be sealed or something already, but somehow got released again.
3. When it was released, it somehow passed on to the FL's bloodline.
4. And somewhere, either the FL's father or his parent's before him, knew the ML's mother which caused the evil spirit to hunt her.

5. The ML saw the evil spirit, so he started to dig information about it.
6. Which eventually led him to the theses of the FL's father.

On Earth Arcade Season 2 Jun 18, 2023
Great episode 6. You have to give it to this team, the brains (PD and staff), Torong, and whoever is the guy wearing Torong, making us laugh and have fun with them.

You don't have to imagine you are with them, the editing, camera shots, the way they talk, laugh, you are easily immersed. It's like playing and having fun with your family and friends. There are teasing, there are jokes. It's casual enough to feel there is bond.

You wouldn't even think they're filming a variety show. You wouldn't even think they're doing it because it is their job, and it is expected of them.

Even if you remove the cameras, it will be the same fun and bonding moments.

That's make this show amazing and worth watching for almost 2 hours every week.

Keep giving us this natural laughter and real bonding. More power.

(And I hope you visit the Philippines, too. Drop me a line too, I want to meet you all haha.)

Title Dr. Romantic Season 3 Spoiler
So…
It's open-ended!

1. The finale episode was written and edited in a way that it can serve as the series finale.
2. With the final scene as a possible window into Season 04 if they get an order for it / or green light.

But, you see, Season 04 is going to be a big challenge for them:
a. Growing number of characters - they will need a huge budget for that.
b. Let's face it, Eun Tak and Ah Reum's story doesn't make any sense. It turns from this direction and changes again, just like that.

A sure sign they are trying to fit in too many stories.

c. There's Doldam and the Trauma Center. It's going to be very challenging to pull that off.

And Season 03 is kind of an experiment if they can do it. But as you can see… they almost failed.

d. There are other characters that haven't returned. Some of them were shown in the last episode. THE FAMILY is not yet complete. (Here we go again with “The Family”.)

There are only two possible ways they go forward with this:

1. This is the series finale for Dr. Romantic. It's time to split it into two spin-offs. The Doldam Hospital part and the Trauma Center part.

I've seen a series, decades ago, who did this. Two spin-offs that are actually very close to each other. Basically, all they have to do is focus the episodes on one area only.

They can even have fun with this setup. With occasional guest appearances. Or, we'll get updates through dialogues.

The most fun they can do is, we have to watch both spin-offs to see the bigger picture. The bigger plot. The major arc story.

Doldam spin-off is 10–12 episodes.
Trauma Center spin-off is 10–12 episodes.

Here's yet more fun.

2 episodes of Doldam Monday and Tuesday schedule.
2 episodes of Trauma Center every Thursday and Friday.

These episodes are happening close to each other as far as time line is concerned.

2. If they will not create spin-offs, they have to reduce the cast, which is a very risky decision because fans will not like it.

However, again, no spin-off = some casts has to go. They can be guests, but that's it.

---

A spin-off is possible because we have a new antagonist, the assemblywoman.

Also, the National Ministry for Health also challenged the Trauma Center to stick to the requirements to only use the provided machines and supplies for trauma patients, otherwise, they'll have to ask for permission again.

You see, basically, the story of “Dr. Romantic” is done. Master Kim's students learned what they need, and can now stand on their own. They are ready to handle the Trauma Center by themselves.

Master Kim and Director Park are there as behind-the-scenes support. And Director Park showing up at Doldam is itself a sign that the Trauma Center was left for the next generation.

With the “Romantic” arc done, it makes no sense to have a Season 4.

Instead, to spin-off series fits well. They can also have the freedom to write a new plot without making Master Kim the center character.

Because, like it or not, “Dr. Romantic” is about Master Kim. His method of teaching. The things he learned himself and passing on to the new generation, and so on and so forth.

Again, that's over.

Writing a new plot while retaining the title and Master Kim would only result in disappointments because people already have expectations.

However, if you split it into two spin-offs, there won't be any expectations. And Master Kim doesn't have to be the “glue” keeping them apart.

Lastly, Season 4 doesn't make sense because it will mean all of them will still be under Master Kim's shadows. The ending of the Episode 16 did not give us that… they all “graduated” already, and the Trauma Center is theirs to manage.
