Parallel World from the Future

Episode 14 was 98% I imagined it to be. It was so powerful. If I was the writer and/or director, it's how I would…
1. The bury/grave scene, I would have chosen to let him lie down on top of her grave, let him cry out a little bit more and fall asleep. But lying parallel is enough because that's exactly what I want in that scene, for him to fall asleep.

2. He cried his heart out. He deserves Best Actor for that scene.

3. The winter vs spring scenes side-by-side, best director/writer/editing (whoever thought of it). That was so powerful.

4. The combination of #2 and #3 was pierced my heart.

5. Attorney Kang giving in to sorrow was exactly what I wanted.

6. The Princess getting sick, same, what I want.

7. The Princess marrying Yoo's son, exactly what I want to happen.

8. Yoo resigning from his position, same thing.

The entire episode was perfect. I love it. 100 out of 10 stars.

I believe it should give some notification to the staff when the oximeter is off. Even if they're not in the room.…
It was actually weird.

I remember after I woke up in the recovery room (after an operation), when I tried to remove the monitor, it beeped (loudly). This was in the mid-90s and there was already an alarm.

Maybe the latest models removed that alarm. ROFL.

Dr. Cha saying everything I was thinking. The kid was not a priority and unfortunately died, which could not have…
Sans other conditions the kid did not disclose, or undetected condition, it's probably from an internal bleeding.

Since they were in a car accident, with the other people in the car clinging for their lives, and one had to undergo a joint operation, an internal bleeding for the kid is highly likely.

It happens. In Season 2, there was a first responder who was hit on the head. She did not go through check up because she thought she's fine. A few days later, she collapsed and went into a coma.

The kid was probably in the same situation, although it was worse for him.

But we'll probably know more later, looks like his mother is going to make a big issue out of it (it's her right, and a doctor did forget to check him).

Title True to Love
Not me. The moment he told her “I'm sorry…”, I was already telling Bo Ra, “don't leave the car, don't…
Yep. They are there, but because they were hurt by the people they trusted (sure they were at fault too), they are extra careful with their feelings and how they read each other.

They both need time to accept their new reality, and they both value the friendship that developed between them. It's easy to fall in love, and it is also easy to mistake camaraderie between the opposite sex as ‘love’ when it is not.

I agree, the writers know what kind of characters and story they want to tell, something that is rarely seen in dramas in any country. Which is also something that many of us fall into… “bounce relationships” because we rushed.

Take the time to heal. Stay friends. Because that person we are friends it, who are being patient with us as we go through this process, who knows, they may be the right person in the end.

Same, I love how they're taking things slow. They even made their relationship clear, “as friends”. If it blooms into romance, then great. If not, great as well. Wherever it takes them, it's win-win for them.

Title Dr. Romantic Season 3 Spoiler
So, it's clearer now. Daddy Cha is the polar opposite of Master Kim in certain areas.
* They both value their patients and their doctors.
* They both will stand against senseless things like politicians.
* They both won't bow down just to get what they need, like in this case, budget for the Trauma Center.

However, as per the episode 6 preview, they are polar opposites when it comes to how they spend their time. They also differ on where they draw the line.

I wonder where else they differ.

But, I think this is how they became rivals, even thought their experetise doesn't overlap.

This is actually very good. It is a changed of pace and different approach.

We can truly say that Daddy Cha is not exactly an antagonist character. They can even make Master Kim an antagonist for half of this Season if they want to.

I say, this is the most realistic hospital drama I've seen. I mean, would you believe that there is an abundance of corrupt doctors like how it was portrayed in Seasons 1 and 2? Sure, there are corrupt and self-serving doctors, but an abundance of it?

The Master Kim vs Daddy Cha is more grounded in reality. Two doctors with principles. Two doctors who wouldn't bend their values and beliefs. But have opposing views on certain things like how to run a hospital (which is management, not about being a doctor)

I am loving this season every new episode.

The pulse oximeter was off, it wasn't anyone's fault.
I'm suspecting the kid removed it, so he can use his phone properly.
On Dr. Romantic Season 3 May 12, 2023
Me at the start of episode 5: Did I miss an episode? *skips through episode 4*

This is a new trend in K-drama. Like, started in 2023. There were two other shows this year with this style. They will start an episode with something that iss totally not connected from where the previous episode (usually last week's) ended. And then it wouldn't be explained until later.

So, you're like, “what was the opening scene about?” Distracted the entire episode until it's explained.

Title True to Love Spoiler
Re: Yu Ri
The character “Yu Ri” is representing the type of people who are clingy in real life. It doesn't matter if they are a guy or a girl, or they initiated the break-up or not. Clingy is the keyword.

These type of people are dangerous to be with. If they don't get what they want, they will go on a revenge. Even if they are still in a relationship, they are secretly, perhaps unknowingly, on revenge mode justifying it with “I'm teaching him/her a lesson”. Without their knowledge, it is destroying their relationship further.

It is worst after the break-up.

No, it has nothing to do with them being not able to move on. They just want revenge. They want to end up as the winner. They want to be on top, so they can tell people, without any guilt, that “I am right, s/he was wrong”.

That is Yu Ri's objective here. Every single time she and her ex talked, she always wanted to be on top, she always wanted to be the winner. But every single time she is defeated because her ex doesn't let his emotions overtake his rationality.

Yu Ri will not stop until she gets the result she wanted. That is all that is in her mind. They want validation that they made the right decision.

However, if the ex is not suffering, and is nonchalant about it, it makes them crazy. It tells them that they made a bad decision to break-up, or to agree to a break-up (if they did not initiate it). They also won't have anything to tell their friends, and if they're not good liars, well, their friends will immediately catch on that they're only making stories.

These type of people, like Yu Ri, if you detect them before you enter a relationship, that is good for you. But once you are in a relationship with them, you will definitely have a hard time.

The world revolves around them.
They are the center of the relationship.
They want to be the only one in control of the relationship.

Basically, they want you to worship them.

That's the kind of relationship they want. Not a romantic relationship but a god-worshipper relationship.

And they are good at playing victims.

You will never win with someone playing the victim, unless you bring them to court, where you both have to expose every single thing about each other.

In the end, the true victim (not the one playing the victim) will be the one taking the fall.

AND it looks like Yu Ri's ex decided to take the fall by droving off. He doesn't want to, but I think he understands how to make Yu Ri stop… to just take the fall.

Unfortunately, there are also people who won't be satisfied with it. They will continue to pester you. In this case, it is definitely time to bring it to the court.

I am NOT saying we should hate people like Yu Ri. You see, people are not born a “b*tch”, We are who we are based on our accumulated experiences and the environment we grew up in.

We still have to extend understanding. Maybe they were in a previous relationship like that. We DO copy and become like the person we romantically love, without us being aware of it. So, maybe, a Yu Ri type of person was like that because they've been through it themselves, and they had no idea they're doing what their previous ex did to them.

Do not tolerate the attitude. However, do not condemn the person to hell just because. We can extend a hand of understanding without tolerating their bad character.

And be sure you know where to draw the line. If they don't want to get help, if they continue to pester you, well, get a court order which will force them to stop. You extended a hand of understanding, you tried to help them, but still nothing? Your duty as a good citizen ends there. Draw a line. You deserve to be happy away from such people.

Title True to Love
I really wish she didn't go after the car and let him go...
Not me. The moment he told her “I'm sorry…”, I was already telling Bo Ra, “don't leave the car, don't you dare leave the car”.

When he drove, I was telling her, “come on, move your feet girl, run, go after him, you know he'll only be hurt”.

And I'm very glad she did.

Romantic feelings aside, which we know Bo Ra have but is not yet aware of it, a good friend who knows what is happening—especially in this situation where Bo Ra knew what Yu Ri's goal is—would save their friend from hurt. If they still go for it, then at least you tried.

It's what I would do in that situation. ;)

Here are my guesses:1. The couple will start sharing information2. Manager Oh and Yu Ra will have a girl-to-girl…
Yep, I hope so too. At least the way they are portraying Taegu, and how there are mysterious people, it's looking like they are all being played by an elite group.

And since all of them, except Do Hoon, had their childhood destroyed in that training camp, they have more than enough reason to bring down those people.

I just remembered, Do Hoon probably got an order direct from those mysterious people to bring down Butterfly. It just so happen Yu Ra shot her first.

At least that's what I'm suspecting. It will be a good reason for him to rebel against them, other than to protect his wife.

Hmm… which would mean, Wolfe was ordered by them and not Taegu? O_O Maybe that's why Taegu forced Yu Ra to remove Wolfe?

What will happen next? (As of episode 8)
Here are my guesses:

1. The couple will start sharing information
2. Manager Oh and Yu Ra will have a girl-to-girl talk
3. Manager Oh and Yu Ra will secretly work together to bring down Taegu
4. Yu Ra and Do Hoon are going to fight… as a couple… after all, they both want to protect each other, especially their cute fun little girl

Wildest guesses:
1. Taegu will have a change of heart because FAMILY. That was what's missing in his life.
2. The people calling the shots on Oh's organisation are probably the same people who used to call the shots on the Old Union
3. Taegu, Oh, Yu Ra, Do Hoon, decided to will join forces to bring them all down.
Replying to IM YourOnlyOne May 10, 2023
As of episode 8:
1. Yu Ra and Taegu were the youngest kids that arrived in the training camp.

2. Manager Oh was the fiercesome girl teenager Yu Ra and Taegu watched when they arrived.

3. At that time, the Union was the Korean government's secret organization. Or, to be exact, Black OPS. Meaning, it's not in the books, it is unsanctioned. The politicians and the public must never know it exists. And if the agents are caught, the government will deny any involvement, they are on their own.

4. Later, more likely after the Martial Law government collapsed, the Old Union was also dissolved. After all, with no support from the government; and with the new government unaware of its existence, there is no point continuing the Union.

5. Much later, Taegu decided to reform the organization. The New Union under Taegu's control, is a crime syndicate. Far from the original purpose of the Old Union.

6. Taegu needs to kill all the original members of the Old Union because for him:

6.a. They destroyed their lives.
6.b. For the New Union to work in secret, the Old Union must all be killed. They are liabilities. They may share the secret story of the Union, just like what Butterfly is doing.
6.c. For him, they are traitors. If they don't join him, then they must die.
