I mean they really making the uncle takes the cake, that fucker gets on my nerves, and such violence? Is his father…
> Why producer and writer agreed to add this character and deviate the story this much!!!

It's their story. ;) Adaptations are almost always like that. It is a retelling of an original story from the perspective and imagination of a different writer. ^_^

Nothing much can be done about it other than to accept it and enjoy the show.

Title The Golden Spoon Spoiler
Woah. Episode 8
1. Real Tae Young received a golden spoon too. I wonder how he used it.

2. Fake Tae Young, that's what happens when one is greedy. But can we truly blame him?

Look how the Real Tae Young also ended up wishing to be rich and be like "Tae Young". Whoever becomes "Seung Cheon" wants to be come "Tae Young".

3. Fake Yeo Jin isn't getting what she wants. There are far more dangerous forces surrounding Tae Young that is going against her plans.

She might end up like that old beggar lady who used to have a golden spoon herself.

4. Speaking of the old beggar lady, I wonder what happened to her after 10 years? She received Ju Hee's money after all.

I rly like it so far! but was the reveal really surprising for y'all? I saw it coming
Nope. So far, the show is pretty much predictable.

It's how they tell the story, and how they deliver, that is the selling point. I think they don't really care if it is predictable.

I just had a thought. The last 2-4 episodes will probably go down like this…SPOILER inside.
Sung Hoon will…
1. discover who the suspect is.
2. learn that Sung Joon has to die too.
3. will confront the suspect.
4. the suspect instead makes Sung Hoon confused, almost convincing him – because he'll learn that his adoptive mother was involved in the Hope center too. (And we already know that.)
5. have to choose between protecting Sung Joon or letting the suspect finish his revenge by killing SJ.

Worst scenario:
The suspect will also kill SH because he thought SH is also a traitor because he was adopted by someone involved with Hope center.

Episode 8.

Painful episode. A very good background story for the main character.

Having experienced a break-up two years ago, a 15-yr relationship break up, I fully understood the pain he felt.

I can say he already moved on. That moment he took over the law clinic, he moved on. That's what other people call “acceptance”, the final stage.

However, Baek Ma Ri will still have a very hard time, if she ever develops feelings for him.

He is like chinaware broken into tiny pieces. While he did move on already, he still is deeply broken. He needs time to heal. He needs time to pick up the pieces, gather himself, and find new meanings to life.

What more, he still is investigating. He's partly still in the past--and that is perfectly justified considering it's a huge case (and he probably doesn't know, yet those cases are linked together). He is not in the past because of his feelings, but because he's trying to solve a major case.

At the same time, he is in the present, trying to heal himself, so he can continue the fight. He is looking forward into breaking the case and come full circle.

Though it would be very painful again for him, and he might lose it, if he discovers that the person who called his father was the same person who ordered to eliminate his fiancé.

For a person like him, quiet, logical, keeping his emotions in check, when they reach their limit or lose control, he can explode like a nuclear bomb. Though, for this fiction, they'll probably keep him “under control” since that's the plot.

Anyway… I love this episode.

When you receive something that you shouldn't have had, and it's incriminating…

1. always make copies
2. send it to at least 7 people you can trust
3. put it in your head that your life is more likely in danger because of what you saw/read
4. don't display it around
5. don't show publicly you are reading it
6. don't act suspiciously, which will only make it obvious you've looked into the incriminating document

If like Joo Young, you fully understand what the document is about, then your life is more likely in danger. Take precautions immediately. She was not careful, she read it again in full view of everyone and holding it publicly too.

If she made a copy, at least with her phone, and left the original there, the suspect probably would have burned the building instead, and she probably got away too. Or, if she was not holding it, so everyone can see it, the suspect would have second thoughts too.

The suspect was a professional killer. The priority is the document. As long as he hasn't confirmed she has the document on her person, the suspect will have second thoughts on killing her, he needs her alive because she's the only one who knows here it is. They need to do it clean. No one should be able to trace it back to the 2-year-old case.

It's the same in real life. Professional hits aim for a clean crime. No witnesses. No collateral damage. 1 target = 1 kill. Only amateurs and cheap gun-for-hires who only cares about the money who do it in public (daylight even) and doesn't care about collateral damage.

At that point, her objective should have been to survive for as long as possible. She fully understood the ramifications of the document she read. Yet she acted as if it was an ordinary case. That was her mistake. Then when she finally noticed him, while carrying the document in public, well, the professional hitman knew that she knew and his cover was blown. Her suspicious action told the hitman, “ahh, you are holding the document I need, I can kill you now”.

Yes, it's fiction, it was meant that way to create a plot. However, it doesn't mean we can not analyse it and learn from it. It may happen to any of us in real life. If it does, remember this episode and take the necessary steps. If the possibility of us dying increases by the minute because of an incriminating document or evidence, then we should make our death worthwhile, otherwise people who should be punished by law (or the ones who deserve to die) might get away with it.

I had to pause when he got into his car. I… I… I… was… speechless.
The difference between a rich and wealthy person.

A rich person doesn't know how and where to spend their money.

A wealthy person knows how and what to buy with their own money. They spend because they know life is short. And when they do, they do it with class.

This is a different level of drama. So many interconnected things happening at the same time. If one falls, everything will unravel.

You don't know who's a friend and who's a foe. Anyone can backstab anyone at any time, anywhere.

All characters have their own agenda. They all want something. They are doing things for themselves. Even characters that appear to be “holy”, they have something deep inside driving them.

Everyone is very calculating and patient. No one's moving for the kill. I can't wait for the episodes when they are all going to make their move and go for the kill. It's going to be bloody. Maybe literally bloody.

Also, you don't know who you want to hate and who you want to support. Good and evil isn't clear-cut.

So In Sung could be the son of the restaurant lady. He was kidnapped as a kid and taken to the orphanage and now…
Same, I'm suspecting In Sung as the missing son of the restaurant lady, and also the actual suspect.

And yeah, the Sung Joon and Sung Hoon case was at least clarified in ep10.

SJ probably created his own false memories. Even in adults, there are those who unknowingly create false memories without them being aware they can easily trick themselves into believing it. There were also studies about unintentional hypnotism + suggestion… (which happens a lot in police interrogation). So yeah, as a kid, and after he fell while playing, it is indeed possible he created a false memory.

SH probably told SJ too because SH misses his little friend. Since SJ can not remember things, he told him a lie… which helped SH move on with his life. He even gave SJ the necklace to complete the lie and to fool himself as well. Selfish though.

Yeah, In Sung and Sung Joon seemed to have met at least once outside the court and had fight--by the way they…
Interesting. So both of them are the youngest of the group? At least if the traitor's "40s and 50s" is to be believed (or at least the translation is to be believed).

I think everyone but Sung Joon seems to be part of the revenge thing from what we know so far. They probably left…
Maybe, maybe not. The traitor kid was murdered, and he knew why he was targeted, because he was a traitor.

If it was a group revenge, then Sung Joon and the traitor kid were not part of the plan.

It is also weird that the group “helped each other even in their 40s and 50s” (last words of the traitor kid before he hanged himself), only to kill one of them later because he was a traitor.

I think there is only one suspect, two at the most. When the traitor kid was placed in that “save me game”, the suspect said, “let's see if people will save you again”.

I'm thinking one of the kids convinced everyone to forgive him after they learned he betrayed them. So the suspect, or suspects, played that game to see if someone will save him again.

I'm thinking Sung Hoon is the suspect, or one of the suspects. He knew why the traitor kid hanged himself instead of waiting for the timer to end. It was payment for his sin. Sung Hoon being all about laws and principles knew the traitor must pay for his betrayal.

Even if he was not the suspect, or one of the suspects, the traitor dying is favourable for him. He has no qualms about it because "laws and principles" dictates the traitor must pay.
