It's what happens in practically any prison.

But if you're asking if it's a sexual act, no, the show isn't porn in any way.

Title The Manipulated Spoiler
What I don't understand is how that mentally unstable chaebol can be so young and so rich? What is his history?…
In addition, his way of getting money is actually brilliant.

He finds errant children of reach people and waits for them to commit a crime, or tricks them into commiting a crime, or forces them to, or more likely manipulated them.

Then he traps the parents.

Then he finds some random unfortunate bystander to be the replacement once the parents pay.

Everyone else in his immediate circle are paid well, hence, they follow him blindly. Some also know what kind of person he is and knew they'll be dead if they so much show they disagree with him.

It is possible and can happen in real life. The only reason it is not happening yet is because humans are inherently good people. And you can't really make psychopaths work together unless they're blood related or grew up together. So it's not easy to form such a group.

And who's to say it isn't happening or hasn't happened already.

Basically, the background of that villain is your typical evil person who is actually using their genius brain to create a pretty much solid enterprise. Until, of course, they meet their match. (It's the reason why we don't have a one world government yet, there is always someone who'll match a good or bad person. Sort of a balance by the universe.)

Hehe. Yep, hopefully!

It's going to be a massive disappointment if it ends up just another boy-meets-girl. 😆

Yep! Now we're intrigued what the story actually is and how it will flow, since they already dropped the usuals.

"Ooh. Okay. If they gave away those usual tropes, that means they have something else in store for us."

E01 "easter eggs" (if we can call it that)
1. Condoms.

International fans almost always complain how in Korean productions, couples wake up with shirts on, leaving it to the audience if they had sex or not.

They finally solved how to depict sex without getting slapped with violations: show the condoms wrapper!

Hooray! 🤣🤣🤣

2. White truck of death

Everyone knows the white truck of death, and how fictional Korean people seems to have no knowledge of it.

Here we are, finally, a Korean character who got scared by a white truck of death. 😆🤣🤣🤣😅🙃

I wasn’t impressed with the first episode at all. I already went in kind of biased because this trope is honestly…
They didn't reveal anything in E01. They compressed what would've taken 4–6 episodes. It's called setting up the story, the characters, their background, so these don't get in the way of the plot.

In other words, these information are not crucial and is not the story at all. It's just setting the foundation. It's a hint that there's far to the story than meets the eye. If they didn't do it this way, it will only get in the way and drag for 4–6 episodes and people are going complain.

Now that they've removed everything people expected out of the way, they can start on the next phase very early, build it up to the climax. They also have more room and freedom to tackle more things beyond the usual expectations.

Lastly, there's nothing new under the sun. Even in music composition, there is a very limited number of melodies we can make (in fact, there's an NGO Copyrighting every melody not yet found in existing releases, so companies can't lock those melodies and sue people).

The universe itself is finite. Everything else is even more so.

I enjoyed the set-up and storytelling 📖 aspect of the 1st episode. ***Translation- some viewers might find…
It's weird some find it slow. It's actually very fast. They compressed 4–6 episodes into 1. That's fast, not slow. 😆

It's actually fast. In traditional style, it will take 4–6 episodes just to establish the history and background of the story before it focuses on the main plot.

Here, they compressed it into a single episode. 😉

They did well, because it's a non-literature format storytelling. Lengthy storytelling only works for literature format.

I love how they used E01 to set the entire stage instead of dragging it to 4–6 episodes.

There are more stories to tell than to waste time establishing the story. No one cares how a food was made, or where the ingredients came from. It's all about the taste, the experience and magic of combining these ingredients into a savoury and delectable food.

That's how non-literature format storytelling should be.

Yeah, that's the sad reality. When they create a very interesting character, it's only technically an extra or a plot device. Then in another story, they create an uninteresting character, develops it a lot but still end up uninteresting. 😂

I love this type of stories where someone plays the manipulation game. It's so relatable. 😈 The thrill! The challenge! It's live or die! It's either you come out as the victor or it all backfires on you.

It's like skydiving but only this time, the stakes are much higher because you still get to live but your entire life and reputation is unsalvageable. 😈

1 episode per week is the industry standard. AFAIK, only the Korean industry releases two per week. Also, 30 minutes…
Oh, yes, I forgot about that.

I think it's a popular format in Latin America?

Here in the Philippines it's mixed. 1 episode per week and 5 days week. If they only planned a few episodes, it's one per week. If they planned 50–100 episodes, it's weekdays. But all are 30 minutes per episode.

Besides, HyeJi is happy for whatever life throws at her. She's happy the Chairman's assets are in good hands.

If she's the real heir, it's a perfect way to have an ordinary life too instead of being in the spotlight.

If HyeJi really is the real heir, they probably left it mysterious because people might react badly if someone else died for her, and they never showed scenes HyeJi being sad about it.

If it was planned by the chairman because he knew evils of the stepdaughter, that will certainly make the audience go into uproar because the Chairman knew and he hired a youngster to such a role knowing the can get killed.

So, maybe, they cut all of it and left HyeJi's identity open-ended to be safe.

Wow. They really left the identity of HyeJi open-ended. 😂 That was a very bold move in Kdrama industry, where…
I still think she's the real heir.

She also came from the orphanage. Probably from the same orphanage?

Possible scenarios:
- the fake heir stole her identity
- they agreed to switch their identities and swore not to tell anyone ever
- there was an error.and mix-up
- the Chairman probably knew and took that secret to his grave

I mean, consider the following:
- HyeJi was texting someone while spying on FL. They never hinted anything about it.
- HyeJi is far too curious about who the Chairman was hiring.
- HyeJi did her best to find the whereabouts of the FL.
- HyeJi always joke about having millions of money.
- HyeJi did not show loyalty, rather, she acted as if all the assets belong to her so she protected it.
