I noticed that as well. I think production companies are beginning to sign up critical parties to option contracts…
Which is wise. If they need to quickly change a few scenes, or in this case insert a new one, it's easy to do. Everyone gets paid too, instead of having a new negotiation or usually the actor giving it away for free.

That hand gesture in the police station scene in E01? Definitely 90s. I was laughing so hard seeing that. Authentic 90s era! Even here in the Philippines, it was popular. I first saw it here in 1994, the last time I saw it was in 2003.

Is it still popular in other countries? To think a writer remembered that. They must have had used it too. 🤣🤣🤣

Title A Hundred Memories Spoiler
E10 is so hard to watch. Me and father have a similar relationship. Not exactly that, but the underlying issues…
I'm autistic. Non-autistic psychologists and psychiatrists claim we don't have empathy and emotions. It's not true. We simply learnt how to keep it at bay because we easily get overwhelmed by it. If we let our emotions and empathy out, it is overwhelming everything, we can literally have a heart attack.

And this is the problem with parent-child relationships for us autistics. We are so logical, we actually understand the hows and the whys. But we can't do anything about it. We are powerless. So, sooner or later, our emotions and empathy simply burst forth.

It HURTS.

- We know they don't deserve so be sick.
- We know how and why they became that way.
- We understand they can't help themselves because they too went through familial problems that broke them mentally and emotionally, so they unconciousy releasing all that frustration to their own kids

And here we are, their kids, knowing better than them, have no choice but to understand them because "we know better". Because we understand.

But it doesn't mean we can do it consistently. We are humans too.

In the end, you hurt each other. Even if intentionally, it still crushes your soul because at the end of the day, they don't deserve the hurt.

Where do you draw the line? Nowhere. It just is.

Hence this episode is so hard to watch. Their father went through something that made him the way he is. He isn't a bad father, just lacking. He does mean well. But it comes across as neglect for his family.

And now, near the end of his life. When he needed them the most, he isn't getting much. Deep inside, he is blaming himself. Deep inside, he is blaming the life he had, maybe even his own parents, because it made him the way he is. Because they never taught him how to have a proper family.

I personally hate self-blaming, and it really hurts to see people like that.

It's not your fault. It's just how things turned out. We just have to accept it so we can work on making things better.

But you know how most parents are in real life, "Why should we listen to you? We have more experience in life." And yet deep inside, they know their kids told them the truth and it is breaking their heart.

Why is it so hard to say "I'm sorry" to family members? Even when they start to self-blame, it still is so damn hard to do.

- No one deserves to be sick.
- No one should be silently begging to be loved.
- No one should come to a point where they self-blame and curse their life and their family.

But it is what it is.

It is so painful.

Maybe I'll just skip E10.

(P.s. I don't shy away from sharing what is true in my life because I know there is someone out there who will benefit from knowing there are such experiences.)

E10 is so hard to watch. Me and father have a similar relationship. Not exactly that, but the underlying issues are very similar.

And when he got sick, your heart just melt. You realise you don't hate them as a person, you just hate the circumstances that made things the way it is because you're thirsty for loving relationship like what other people has.

Those having second thoughts, don't. You know how it is in Kdramaland, there must always be annoying episodes.…
Except for the ex. His annoying level will continue. Hahahaha. But hey, at least he and his family are absorbing all the annoying parts. The main characters will be pure laughter.

Noticed how FL was the only one facing the camera in the announcement scene? That was a new scene they inserted, and she was likely the only one available. They probably filmed it at most three weeks ago when Amazon ordered Season 2.

Without that S02 announcement scene, the actual ending was them 3 walking, the usual Kdrama ending scene.

Usually, that's how things work if you receive a late new season order. You quickly set up a new scene for an announcement so the producer/investor won't back out later. 🤪

Did it get renewed? The last phrase "Confidence Queen will be back" made me wonder!
It's as good as a "yes" since they announced it in the show itself. It means they already committed to it and was greenlit.

That ending was probably only made three weeks ago. It means Amazon liked the ratings for it and ordered a Season 2.

So, they filmed a new ending announcing S02. Noticed how only FL was looking at the camera? Either she was the only one they contacted for that scene or the other two were not available.

After that announcement scene, they showed their faces, that scene was the original ending.

Title Would You Marry Me? Spoiler
I let it play while working.
And yes, it is not fun at all.

There are many shows that I knew the dialogues before the characters said it. 😆 It gets boring after that. 🤪

If you've watched a thousand shows and read a thousand books, there's nothing new under the sun. You don't have to watch every scene or read every paragraph, you can easily fill in the blanks or figure out the plot.

If you're a writer too, even more so, you don't miss much often because you're familiar with the tropes, flow, and so on.

Creative writing is basically a mash-up of everything that was already tried. People complain about clichés but there is literally nothing new anymore. It's all a rehash. The challenge for writers is how to tell a story and which tropes and clichés to combine.

So, most of it are easy to figure out once you get familiar with it.

Some people even watch in 2x speed because they already figured out how the story will flow.

Title Would You Marry Me? Spoiler
LOL. Both the ML and FL are probably in their early to mid 20s only.
I mean, if you're in your late 20s or higher, you already know:
1. Read the entire contact before you sign it
2. You can't sell it immediately
3. They obviously will do regular checks

You won a premium town house in ae SS-class subdivision! There are rules to follow. You can't even just sell it to anybody, there are checks too on who you can sell it to. You can forget the plot about the company. It is SOP when giving selling and/or raffling a town house in a higly exclusive subdivision.

But the ML and FL didn't know any of it so they're too young to know.

What's odd though:
1. The FL is a CEO but was signing contracts without reading.
2. The ML was cautious about the scamming and came from the US but had no idea how town house raffles work?

If I were in his shoes, the moment he learned it was about a town house raffle, I would've firmly said "no". A lot of things can go wrong with that. And it did. 🤪

But hey, at least we're done with the annoying episodes. From hereon, it's the comedy part. 🤪🤪😆😆😆

Title No Mercy
The show is not bad, yet this place is awfully quiet. 🤣

Where are the people asking, "Is there romance"?

Where's everyone who loves to say, "The writer should quit their job" and "The writer should be banned from writing anything"?

Or those who enjoy trashing actors because of the way they interpreted their characters (or the director and/or writer said so)?

The silence in this place is defeaning. Is this even MDL?

Title No Mercy Spoiler
E06
The actual plot: It's the ML's revenge against his father.

Status of FL: Just a plot device, a side-story to move forward the main plot: ML vs his father

I think we can guess how it will play out next week:

Option A: FL gets angry at him for using her for his father-som issue. ML argues, "might as well since you're targetting the group I know that will hurt my father".

Option B: She forgives ML for using her and they joined forces again. After that they lived happily ever after.

BONUS: In both Options, they brought down everyone. The father, the mastermind, and the gang.

Mamay looks like Sandara Park, even with the way she looks, the way she acts, the way she expresses herself. I keep getting confused if I was watching Sandy. 🤣

Ooh. Since they mentioned it, I want them to play Monopoly next.

The game concept itself is not Copyrightable, so they can do it as long as they don't call it Monopoly® (which is a Trademark of Hasbro®). The original was called The Landlord's Game which was patented in 1904 and has expired decades ago, they can use that name instead.

Just like Snakes & Ladders, the game concept isn't Copyrightable and it originated in India in the 1800s.
