Wow. All the scenes and exchange when FL challenged the ingredient of the Ming female cook were so very familiar.
I'm now wondering of there actually was a tale about three Chinese cooks where the female stole an ingredient and her uncle was against it.
The only difference from what I remembered was the female cook was disowned by her uncle. In this Korean version, she apologized and was given another chance.
If there really is such a legend or famous literary work, I guess they based those scenes and exchange from that.
Anyone with information? Is there a legend or was it from a famous Chinese literary work everyone in the modern world loves to reinterpret?
I donβt understand why he couldnβt have arrested the guy for openly beating his wife in public- is it because…
Yep. It's awful.
Most countries only passed protections against domestic abuse in 21st Century. So many patriarchal countries blocked it because, well, patriarchy system.
And even in those countries where they already have such laws, it wasn't enforced because abusers were still powerful. They'll just pay whoever. Not to mention outdated traditions about how the father/husband can do anything because they are the provider.
Even the less likely to call shows as worthless are agreeing that this one is.
Definitely tells you it was an epic fail. π€ͺ
I haven't seen this much negative feedback in MDL alone (it's the same in other communities). Like, for once, no one is fighting in the comments! π π π π€£π€£π€£

Monkey studying for SAT.
For context, almost every interpretation of the Chinese Monkey is he's plain dumb in everything but combat and eating. π€ͺ
So, Monkey studying for CSAT, yeah, not a chance he'll pass.
WHAT THE KOPIKO!
They are both correct and wrong at the same time. They both are coming from a situation that each is failing to understand.
They both just want to be loved and understood by each other. It's so sad.

I might be misremembering, but if not, his hair extensions got stuck in the rock, it's part of his power. π€ͺ

He definitely needed that sleep.
Like, seriously! There were better scenes to insert Kopiko than Tiger getting tired. π π π π€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺ
Now in the present, they missed an opportunity again. They should've been resurrected by feeding them Kopiko.
π€ͺ
Why?
It made the poetic "1 life in exchange for 4" meaningless.
In addition, by doing that it also hinted that the 4 returnees are now bound to Ogwi. Their resurrection came from Hellmouth.
I keep remembering he showed up with short hair. π π π π π π π€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺπ€ͺπ€£π€£π€£
He is weak without his hair extensions!
