I think in fact she has feelings for him but she doesn't want to change the history so that's why she doesn't…
Haha! Same thoughts!
I'm thinking history wrote he was assassinated but actually found a way to go to the future. But he landed in the future prior to her traveling back in the past, so he has to wait until she returns from her adventure before he can reveal himself to her.
Probably he was the one who orchestrated the book landing on her laps. π He was probably watching her and tasting her food secretly, patiently waiting for their personal timelines to match. π
Episode 08 is so far the best for me. I love the focus on cooking and less on the drama and dialogues. It's as if I'm watching a live-action adaptation of ChΕ«ka Ichiban (Cooking Master Boy).
If they can do this, they should consider creating a live-action of ChΕ«ka Ichiban.
There are restaurants that serves genuine and authentic Peking duck dishes. Like literally a duck from Beijing with ingredients from China. Too expensive though, much better if you go to China, tour, have fun, and eat there.
Wow. All the scenes and exchange when FL challenged the ingredient of the Ming female cook were so very familiar.
I'm now wondering of there actually was a tale about three Chinese cooks where the female stole an ingredient and her uncle was against it.
The only difference from what I remembered was the female cook was disowned by her uncle. In this Korean version, she apologized and was given another chance.
If there really is such a legend or famous literary work, I guess they based those scenes and exchange from that.
Anyone with information? Is there a legend or was it from a famous Chinese literary work everyone in the modern world loves to reinterpret?
I donβt understand why he couldnβt have arrested the guy for openly beating his wife in public- is it because…
Yep. It's awful.
Most countries only passed protections against domestic abuse in 21st Century. So many patriarchal countries blocked it because, well, patriarchy system.
And even in those countries where they already have such laws, it wasn't enforced because abusers were still powerful. They'll just pay whoever. Not to mention outdated traditions about how the father/husband can do anything because they are the provider.
I'm from the Philippines. When I'm frustrated, bored, or found something funny, my brain suddenly makes silly jokes. π
They made his hair extensions so obvious, it's always in my mind whenever I'm watching Twelve episodes. π€£π€£π€£ And then he just died.
"Ahh! It was his hair extensions! That was what's missing!" π€ͺ
Don't underestimate the power of hair extensions. π
There is hope! π

"What took you so long my Chief Royal Cook?!"

Monkey studying for SAT.
For context, almost every interpretation of the Chinese Monkey is he's plain dumb in everything but combat and eating. π€ͺ
So, Monkey studying for CSAT, yeah, not a chance he'll pass.
WHAT THE KOPIKO!
They are both correct and wrong at the same time. They both are coming from a situation that each is failing to understand.
They both just want to be loved and understood by each other. It's so sad.
