Third alternate ending is in the "Plus+" version or "Multiverse" version. It's currently in theaters.
Hopefully soon!
But usually a few months after all theater distributions from their partners are done. So, if a country is going to have a theater release in August, then OTT will probably be allowed next year. π Unless that OTT will block the region where there's a scheduled theatrical release.
What The F! I thought this was based on our true story. ππππππππππππππππππ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯ΊβΉοΈβΉοΈβΉοΈβΉοΈβΉοΈππππππ
I'm still strying to sort my feelings. It overwhelmed me because we went through a very similar journey: fell in love for years, we let go of each other, didn't see other for years, then we caissid paths, reminiscence, then cried together, asked the same questions why we broke up, and eventually finally found proper closure and said our goodbyes to our past.
One was already married and have a kid. Yeah, very similar to this story.
I don't want to remember these emotions because it's so mixed. It's pain, joy, laughter, self-blame.

Yep, the rest of the world has to wait. π
The 2025 version (2 endings) premiered in Malaysian theaters. They got really good feedback so they decided to release the 2026 version only after two months. π
Or maybe that was really their plan: - 2025 version: 2025-12-31 Gregorian New Year - 2026 / Plus+ / Multiverse version: 2025-02-17 Lunar New Year
I think the challenge is foreign cinemas, do they want the 2025 or 2026 version. They released both far too close, they didn't give enough time for the 2025 version to run its course first.
Film imports can only pick one version. π OTT services are probably choosing between the two versions.
They really should've waited before releasing the Plus+ version.
i'm afraid I failed to see any romance in this romance movie. not to mention 0 character development along the…
The definition of the "Romance genre" is about saving someone. It has nothing to do with "romantic love". π As far as fiction, genre, and academics are concerned, this perfectly fits the "Romance genre". π
Ahh, so that's why the ML's acting and voice was familiar, he was L when he was at his early 20s. π I didn't even connect him with is 2020s work, Alice in Borderland because his acting was very different already by thenβit improved.
MDL doesn't have the Plus+ / Multiverse version yet, so if you want to submit it.The differences are:
If you're a fan of the multiverse genre it can be worthwhile. I'm satisfied with the 2025 version (the one with only 2 endings).
Personally, I'll wait for the digital version of the 2026 "Plus+" / "Multiverse" version since I want to be able to rewind if needed. I love disecting isekai/parallel world and time travel plots. It's how I can tell if the writers did their research well in this genre.
It's fine to wish for Season 2 but it wasn't an open-ended story, it was part of the plot.
They hinted it during the prison assassination incident which gave us very important clues:
1. The cure in his blood is replenished whenever he dies in a brutal way unexpectedly 2. He cannot die because the cure is replenished when he dies in a brutal way unexpectedly
That was the secret he was taunting the CEO about. Sooner or later, his blood will stop having the cure unless he is killed in a brutal way unexpectedly. All throughout the series, he was deliberately creating scenarios where someone will murder him when he least expects it. It was the only way to force the cure to replenish in his blood.
This is what he was experimenting on ever since, how to actually produce the cure outside of being killed brutally unexpectedly. He was trying to find what's triggering it. He was trying to find that biological component that's contributing to it.
It is theoretically sound. We do have biological chemicals that only shows up when we're in certain situation. This is also how natural immunity from viruses and diseases developed before humanity learned to manually create vaccines.
Unfortunately, he failed in finding the answer. So, to ensure the cure won't be gone forever, he had to orchestrate such situations to keep the cure inside him.
The second question is, why is it that if a person takes a medical exam, the cure in them is nulled. He failed to find the answer to that as well. It is very similar to quantum physics, once you observe something, it settles into one state. But before we observed it, a quanta possesses all possible states it can take. This cure, for some unknown reason, disappears when someone tries to "observe" a patient he cured.
Now going back to Season 2, this is why there won't be any. Him being revealed to be alive was not a revelation at all. We already know that since the prison assassination incident. It was only a closure for the attorney.
In fact, I believe they should've ended the scene with him being undecided if he'll throw the vial or not. Making the ML call made the ending weak. The scene wasn't needed since we already know he's alive. So it was better to leave the attorney mysterious about his decision.
MDL doesn't have the Plus+ / Multiverse version yet, so if you want to submit it.The differences are:
- Two hours long - Lots of never before scenes - Better character development - Longer scenes - 3rd alternative ending - Introduces alternate timelines / universes
Basically, since parallel universe / time travel is quantum physics, they explored the What-Ifs.
I heard there are 2 different endings and a possible 3rd?How do we watch the different endings currently available?https://worldofbuzz.com/louis-koo-reveals-back-to-the-past-has-an-extended-version-with-a-third-ending-released-if-one-condition-is-met/

The original had 3 Seasons.
Were there ahything they adapted from the original besides the concept?
