I think he might do both. It can be seen that right now there is a trend of actors doing both film and drama. The film market proved to be unstable during the pandemic and many movie stars turned to act in dramas. It is better to have a foothold in both areas. At least that would be my opinion. Regarding people calling the female lead annoying. This is my opinion but I feel that her character will improve. Besides part of the reason why her character is shown like that is because of her up bringing. She grew up the spoiled princess of the Crimson clan. She might be extremely impuslive and run her mouth off but it could be a defense mechanism against other disciples who come from better backgrounds than hers. The other disciples mention that Crimson clan is lacking educational resources hence her unwillingess to learn. But once Shi ying points it out, she accepts it and is shown to be willing to learn. This for me shows charatcer growth. Accepting your faults and be willing to learn. The story is based on a master disciple relationship, the drama not only focuses on the budding romace but also the true aspect of a master disciple relationship which is teaching and learning. If the drama showed both the master and disciple being perfect, there would be just a cold faced love plot.
