So i came across this interesting douban post. The writer listed some reasons as to why Lin Zhixiao's character was changed from a geology student in the novel to a cellist.
1. In order to maximize the personality differences of the characters.
In the original novel, Gu Wei is a doctor of medicine and has a natural nerd atmosphere. If the heroine is a student and her major is still so dull, the portrayed characters will definitely have a nerd atmosphere. In this way, the character differences between the male and female protagonists are not obvious enough, and the conflicts between the characters are not easy to create.
2. To create conflict in family relationships.
In the original novel, the family relationship of the Lin family is harmonious, warm and bland. After the scene is presented, the audience will feel bored due to the lack of drama. By arranging the heroine as a cellist who is studying music, the difference in conception between the father and daughter can be achieved. (For example, the daughter insists on her musical dream but the father does not understand and firmly opposes it), to reflect the generation gap and emotional conflict between the two generations in the family relationship, so as to promote the development of the story.
3. In order to make the lens language richer and more diverse.
In the novel, the identity of the female protagonist, a student of the Department of Geology, is difficult to express in beautiful camera language. For example, when expressing the professional characteristics and character of Gu Wei, the director can arrange for him to read the camera. What about the female protagonist? Do you want her to sit at the table with this tome and work hard there? And changing her career to a musician, cleverly avoided the problem of repeated footage.
4. In order for the male and female protagonists to form a soul intersection The hero and heroine are a pair of young people who love each other, one is a doctor and the other is a musician; one is a sullen steel straight man, and the other is a lively girl; one holds a scalpel to cure diseases, and the other holds a healer. The bowstring that heals the soul. The two people love each other and kill each other, redemption and anti-redemption, the deeper interaction and integration at the soul level, and the meaning of watching and helping each other to grow together, all at once!
Mama rules the nest LOL. Both husband and daughter are being played as the mom wants it, and don't even mind it.…
I agree with the comment on San San makeup. Her character seems to be written as a flirt. So maybe that's why they gave her such heavy makeup but it still feels too much. Each time she appears on screen, her makeup distracts me from what she is doing.
This might be too early to wonder. But from the trailers it felt like Mr Lin has a hard time accepting Lin Zhixiao relationship with Gu Wei. While I understand, it is because he is scared of letting her go. I am intrigued as to why? It is intriguing because most Asian parents would love to have a good looking doctor as a son in law and would be even more grateful if said son in law saves their life. But Mr Lin seems against their relationship. It feels like there is more to that story and I am really looking forward to watching that part.
I completely understand your concerns. When I saw the trailer I found that this drama was simply impossible to…
Voice dubbing is pretty common when it comes to historical cdramas. Because they film in Hengdian studios, where so many dramas get filmed at the same time. There is always background noises. So they use voice dubbing in the drama. It is upto the drama team whether theyhire a voice actor to dub the character. Or the actor himself dubs his character. Personally I think, there is a big chance that XZ dubs shi ying himself because after the untamed, all his characters are dubbed by himself.
After so many months of waiting, it is finally here. I am not a big fan of rom coms but I was looking forward to watching this as a fan of the leads. And the first episode didn't disappoint. The first meeting between Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao was hilarious. I really like the bantering funny dynamic in rom coms. And from the trailers, I think we are going to get more of that dynamic so can't wait to watch episode 2. The pacing of the first episode was also pretty good. I squealed at the cute extras at the end. Hope they keep that up for all the episodes.
I am watching episode 16 .Can someone explain what happened to the queen (Zhu Zhanji's mother.) How did she become ill and why did she smash the spinning wheel
