Suzy is a great actress but I can't help but feel like she wasn't the best choice as Doona. Her acting is really good in some scenes like Doona and Wonjun first meeting or the bottle scene in EP 2 but idk if it was because of the writing but the scene with Jin--ju was painfully hard to watch. Suzy is still not a natural and Jin-ju is annoying af. Idk why they insert that "first love" trope everywhere Also, Doona's character is supposed to be this seductive, mysterious older woman but Suzy gives the character a more youthful feeling. Weirdly enough, I can't think of any other actress in her 20s as Doona too.
I know Suzy chose the hime-cut herself for Doona and it is the right choice because she looks younger than her age with bangs and has that elegant look without them but her face doesn't suit hime-cut. She still looks gorgeous when half of her hair is up but overall, it isn't among Suzy's best looks and tbh it is kinda irritating cause she looks 10x better without that hideous haircut.
Okay so I love Ling Bu Yi. He is one of the best asian drama male leads, not just among Chinese shows. But the stunt he pulled in EP 24 wasn't it. To this episode, the female lead had shown literally 0 romantic feelings for BuYi. And you can't blame her. The drama is a slow burn. They had little to no interaction in the first 10 episodes and then she got with Lou Yao.
Although he has been quite vocal in his affection for Shaoshang, it didn't sit right with me how he publicly proposed and used the Emperor to make her agree. His status is way way higher than hers. The entire scene was too long and emotional for my taste. Like there was no need for her parents to humiliate her like that. Her relationship with them seemed to be getting better especially with the Mother when they both went to the Lou residence but the writers regressed it again. But if you think about it, if he sent a proposal directly to her family and didn't propose in the manner he did, he could have saved her from the humiliation.
They wanted to gradually build up their relation but the fact she couldn't even fathom getting married to him just seemed to destroy all of the build up. And it seemed forced. You can't tell me the female lead would still agree if the Emperor wasn't there. I know she dgaf about embarrassing Bu Yi by rejecting. Shaoshang isn't written as someone who would agree to something as big as marriage just because it would be embarrassing for the other person if she rejected.
All in all, I was enjoying the drama and both the leads character until they made the male lead do this. Unnecessarily made it hard to watch by making her parents humiliate her like that. There are many ways to reject and what they could have done was ask for some time and ended the convo right then and there.
For someone who goes to great lengths to hide his face, even keeping spare glasses in his coat to pass out on the ground just because they had to reveal his identity to the FL is peak bad writing ðŸ˜
This has some very witty moments and then scenes like above just so they can progress the story somehow. 1st ep was definitely better but the second one wasn't bad. No more sloppy writing tho, I hope. And also I am praying that both FL's and ML's moms won't have a big role to play in this drama. I am done with estranged relations with parents trope or when they are always causing trouble for their children. It's so overdone.
Lastly, Minhyun, as expected, is terrible at acting. The amount of times he went all wide eyes in this episode.. oh lord. He's lucky he's cute.
In my opinion, ratings are TV viewer ratings. Koreans watch a lot with ott. In ott TVing, which Koreans watch…
Read my comment again. I am not comparing it's ratings to KTL or TUC. I know Sat-Sun dramas do better. We were comparing TVing ranks. That has nothing to do with TV slots.
5 or above is good, yes. Half of that number? Bad. And this is the last time I will say that.

It was still behind many shows on TVing like King The Land and The Uncanny Counter which aired on Sat-Sun and even Not Others which airs the same day as it. There is nothing wrong in admitting the premiere didn't do as well in Korea as a Sohyun comeback should have. The reviews have all been great so far so hopefully ratings only go up from here!
Also I noticed it debuted in the Most Buzzworthy Dramas list at #8. Not sure how credible it is but it's a good sign.
2.5% for pilot. Not bad but not great either. I was honestly expecting better numbers as it’s Sohyun’s comeback after 2 years but I guess I should have kept my expectations low as she’s the only big name here. On the other hand, its hashtag on TikTok has already reached 100M views and has a viral edit with 4M views and 500k likes. It has been trending for almost a week now on Twitter so at the very least, even if it flops in Korea, it’s shaping up to be a hit internationally. Very impressive since it’s not on any big OTT platform such as Netflix.
Minhyun never came across as a bad actor to me in AOS but next to Sohyun... he really needs to work on his delivery and body language, he's always so stiff. ðŸ˜
In all the teasers he has the same wide-eyed expression with a hint of smile on his face. I know he's not gonna be so bad that he will ruin the drama but it's just noticeable and it would have been better if Sohyun was paired with someone who was just as good as her in terms of acting.
It is obvious this is the first Bl you have watched...you're standards are nelow zero. Maybe try watching something…
Yes, it's my first BL, I am not denying it. And no, I won't try something else cause I dislike the genre. The only reason I finished 2gether was because of BrightWin. Other couples like First and Khao, Gulf and that dude just don't do it for me
Watched this last August and to this day, it's the first and only BL I have ever watched(and will).
Idk why y'all are complaining about lack of chemistry like hello?? Are we even watching the same show? Bright and Win did have chemistry, it may not be overwhelming like, for example, Win and Prim but it's there. I actually like the fact this show has way less intimacy than other Thai BLs, it's the only reason why I started it. Not everyone loves steamy scenes between two dudes who, in real life, 90% of the time turn out to be straight.
Idk if they requested for it or the director wanted it that way, but BW lucked out because now they are probably the only Thai actors who have worked in a BL but still have other works they are recognized for such as F4, Astrophile and now Enigma for Win. Other actors like the one is KinnPorsche and TharnType I legit only know them because of those two shows. And I am always mixing up Kinn and Porsche too.
Now, when I first watched it I didn't notice it's bad writing and all except the Pam storyline, that was so annoying. After rewatching it, there are some scenes with poor execution but nothing worth the hate. I didn't even know 2gether was hated so much until now(and BW's apparent lack of chemistry). Also since when is Bright a bad actor? Sure, between the two leads Win is obviously the better actor but Bright never came across as a bad actor to me.
All in all, while this shows has its flaws and I really didn't enjoy any of the side couples, it's still a fun and simple show(maybe that's why it's so popular) and will always hold a special place in my heart as the only BL I have watched. 8/10. Music was better than I expected.
I loved this drama when I first watched it but dropped it on EP 16. After rewatching it a few days back and reading the second review, oh lord this drama has some serious flaws. First off, the heroine. I have literally never liked a female lead as much as I liked Eun Ki in the first /three/ EPs. She went from being a smart, badass, observant heroine who takes 0 shit from others to this whiny, weak and just annoying female lead.
This amnesia storyline was so overused here. Legit THREE times!! Crazy. Acting was superb, SJK and his hurt expressions always got me feeling some kind of way lmao. Park Si Yeon and other actors were good in their roles but the writing was bad. It started off great but went downhill starting from 7/8 EP. The ending was terrible.
Cringe dialogues too. By episode 17/18 I was done with this 'Eun Ki makes me go crazy, I cant live without her' like we get it.
Could easily have been a 9/10 but so, so many flaws that are better and already addressed in @.Jeana's review above. I rate it 7.5/10.
The start was good. I enjoyed the first task and the New Years Special was entertaining too. This show sometimes feels like it's scripted sometimes it doesn't. During EP 8-10 it almost felt like I was watching a dating show with all the choosing partners thing.
Seemed kinda scripted too. The only pairing I truly enjoyed was Fan ShiQi and Li YiTong. I expected Timmy to call Jieqiong, they seemed close during the Kung Fu Hustle filming but he called Liu Xiening instead.
As a Jieqiong fan, I hope she doesn't do another show like this in the future. She prolly learned a thing or two new but nothing much. Hardly any screentime on top of that.

Love that he's morally grey but the way he acted in the first five mins almost had me closing the tab.
Seemed kinda scripted too. The only pairing I truly enjoyed was Fan ShiQi and Li YiTong. I expected Timmy to call Jieqiong, they seemed close during the Kung Fu Hustle filming but he called Liu Xiening instead.
