i totally agree with you on this. fl does look a lot older, and thats how its supposed to be. but the only way to justify their acceptance according to me is that jiang li had stayed in a nunnery for a decade unlike the normal young noble girls so her looking older due to lack of care makes sense. thats how i made sense of it. and yes xue fangfei was a lot older than jiang li. she had been married for quite a few years before dying.
