well this is a story with steampunk setting, so i guess they are a little more advanced than the mediaeval period. I also had the same issue where I couldn't imagine most of the steampunk gadgets. but don't worry too much and just enjoy the story. the Live action might help you with the things you don't understand from the novel. 😊

and TGCF is both Xianxia and Xuanhuan ( gods, ghosts, and other fantasy, mythical stuffs)
Yes the TGCF manhua is a good palce to start. STAR ember has the most beautiful art-style and the manhua follows the exact events of the novel ( tho i’m not sure if STAR ember would draw intimate scenes).

Lot of people love 2ha (i mean look at the number of comments on HYK page) but i don’t think it’s a story for people who cannot handle extreme angst. I mean I had a hard time for a while after reading it. I cried a bunch the whole time i was reading, my eyes hurt so bad. It was still pretty worth it tho. I like 2ha but def. not as much as TGCF. But this is a personal preference because i love pure romance like in SPL, MDZS or TGCF more than angsty romance.

From what i’ve read so far, extras have the daily lives of the characters after the events from the main novel, some modern day stories etc.

“Assistant Architect” was a fun novel. I liked it too.
I also think Priest might be the next author to have her books sold in English print bcs all of her books are pretty popular. I’m excited about buying her novels in print in the future. especially Sha Po Lang.

I already read the novel to the end so I knew taxian jun’s soul came into Mo Ran 2.0’s body. I was just wondering if the two souls ever merge and become just one Mo Ran (and not existing as two separate souls). I thought this might happen in the future extras that’s why i asked

I love love love SPL so much but TGCF is a novel that surpasses Even SPL in my heart. Plots are very different but the romance is soooo similar - both have pure wholesome love that will melt you heart so much. I can confidently say that anyone who read TGCF will end up falling love with it ❤️ no doubt. If you don’t want to read the novel right away, u can give the Donghua a try and see if u like it. Honestly, If you liked SPL, i think you will definitely love TGCF.

And NO. TGCF and 2ha are very very different. TGCF deals with gods and mythological beings etc. And has a solid interesting plot with the most romantic story I’ve ever read. You should really read it 😍 it’s beautiful.

2Ha is the definition of angst. And lot of angst between the main couple. the story revolves around the two main characters, their misunderstandings, truths etc etc. Watching the drama first may make things easier for you since this is not a novel that everyone can enjoy.
I think 2Ha is more similar to MDZS (I don’t know if you’ve read MDZS) bcs it has cultivation stuffs.

I recently finished reading 2ha. Currently reading its extras. I’m also planning to read Thousand autumns. Do u mean TGCF (Tian guan ci fu?). You should read the novel. It’s like the best novel i’ve ever read. absolutely amazing. I don’t think the drama will come any time soon bcs they have just started filming (probably around early 2023). Good news is, they are releasing officiall English print books of TGCF and MXTX other works. So excited to buy these.
