Ditto! iqiyi has been trying to post other dramas to promote viewership, but it is hard to spend even 1 second watching those promos , like for shine on me hahah. I think they have fully recognised what a big wave Speed and Love is and that the audience is like on drugs at the moment, nothing will sway us, not even Zhang Linghe. I started reading the novel midway through the series and it was totally worth it. I am also on my nth rewatch so....happy NEW YEAR :P

I logged in today to add back the 0.5 I had deducted. You know, after rewatching it several times, I feel the minor editorial problem towards the end can completely be ignored as it overall kept the vibe alive till the last scene and that is a big achievement given how even really good highly rated dramas veer off to meh endings with the pace and connection falling off the wagon. But this one, Speed and Love didn't let us down, it handheld us throughout and I am here to appreciate the respect we got as viewers.

I am considerably new to MDL so not very aware of the general User culture here. However, I still believe this drama never lost a beat till the end and didn't require any skipping or fast-forwards, which makes it worth a higher rating. I am watching it for the 4th time now after having finished reading the novel, and it is still giving all the feels. If not 9, then at least a solid 8.8 is where it should be.

I don't get it, why is the rating stuck at 8.5. This is easily a 9.0 star drama.

Here to congratulate for Speed and Love. , it wouldn't have come about without your guidance on the acting and cinematography.

@patches I get it, some chasing from Jin Zhao would have made it even hotter as well (if that's even possible), before he eventually visits the observatory unannounced, so I am full with you on that.

@Patches I think what works for me is that she was in a situation where her Mother was not well and needed her while he was hanging by a thread and withdrew. It would have been hard for her to make any decision if he told her about it, she would feel guilty anywhichway, be with mom or be with him, what a terrible choice to make! Soyi, it's better a choice was made for her. He saved her emotionally in a very different way, it's a tough compromise but I can accept it as part of the story.

Have you ever been a caregiver? It is one of the toughest things to do for an invalid , I do not wish it upon anybody. It makes complete sense, specially in the novel He Yu actually loses one limb. The drama didn't make it so harsh but 6+ years of recovery is no joke, someone needs to be at your beck and call 24x7. If you think from his perspective, it is better for her to be with her mother and step-father, pave another future, study, be someone. Even the drama is quite idyllic to be honest, but the decisions taken aren't without reason.

Life doesn't move linearly, this we understand only as time passes. The story is focusing on the fact that both actually were steadfast and this is what everyone loves about the drama. Story is about them getting together, nobody is watching it for it to be a tragedy. The tangent you are taking would be a completely different genre and have different life lessons.

It is so well illustrated in episode 25 with Mumu's response and love confession at the observatory. A truly touching scene between them. It is all laid bare and all doubts are thrown out of the window.

He literally upgraded his life after surviving a near fatal injury, went back to Nianjing, adopted the dog, set up a cafe AND bought their original house. He started nesting already. His language of love is acts of Service, and gives it completely without a second thought. All this while giving her the time to become her own person, it is tough love and it is okay to feed the distance if you feel you are going to pull someone down with you. The day he realised he was going to make it, he had a world all ready for her. So I am not completely in agreement with many of the thoughts expressed here, but we can have different opinions which is alright.
