@lilian_juvis it is a disturbing novel to read, a torturous love story. Hopefully, drama adaptation will be able to keep the intensity but discard its desolation.
@Lilian_juvis They kept delaying the release so I ended up reading the novel few months back. It has a dark intensity, almost gives a victorian gothic vibe if you ever read a Victoria Holt or Daphne Du Maurier.
@Lilian_juvis ya, they cut it short by a lot and censored any kiss that might have existed, right when it started getting good too, everything episode 18 onwards was great work. Is it just me or does shooting out of mainland China gives some superpower to the male leads that they become 100 times hotter and start showcasing their talents finally!
@precious Isn't this why Speed and Love is such hit, it doesn't have just that one scene but every single scene elicits an emotional response. I am happy for Zhang Linghe in Our Generation, I truly believe it was his breakout moment as an actor and keenly waiting for his new dramas in 2026.
@precious ooo do not remind me of Our Generation! I have probably replayed the scene where Zhang Linghe reaches his home to find JinMai a thousand times, that expression is muaaah! Drama was average but this one scene- from the build up of her travel to the delivery of seeing each other again in that tiny room was freaking amazing!
