I was also worrying about Sae Yeon how he probably would become this annoying vengeful character but I loved how they proved me wrong!
Anyhow we have lots to say about Lovers LOL. And glad to befriend you. ;)
I'm going to try and look into some gangster or crime drama's in the hope of finding a similar character.

And yes the scene with Sang Taek aside from showing his character by not wanting to hurt Yu Jin for me it was also an extra confirmation that his love was real and deep by discussing it with the person closest to him making it more real.
Yes I agree with you on the last ep, like I said 21 eps would be better. Although I didn't mind the holding off while he was in prison as much since aside from the guilt I also think the talk he had with Mi Joo's father made him think exactly like you said he would just be bad for Mi Joo. Plus it seems realistic since he's been a tough guy all his life. But since they decided to write it like this I though he would have needed more convincing to connect with his feelings again. Just bumping into each other on the beach didn't seem enough.

You're describing exactly the scene's I loved as well. And I loved how she was realistic as well through the entire drama. I mean she knew he was in a relationship and Yu Jin was pregnant she tried holding off but wasn't the moralistic drama heroine when he turned to her or as you mentioned when helping her with a job. You mentioned Kang Jae not being the perfect guy and same goes for Mi Joo.
And in the scene when he proposed marriage and she overheard it the setting and emotions of those two made it a romantic scene expressing their love for each other. You sometimes see these love triangles in other drama's as well but what frustrates in most of them me is that you hardly ever see the man's (mostly it's the man with 2 woman) feelings clearly. It's like they want to make you doubt as with who the main will end up with while you obviously already know it's going the be the female lead.

I loved how he asked her on the roof to hold hands after the marriage proposal.
Arg I feel like watching again LOL. Only thing for me why it isn't a 10 was the last 15 minutes I felt it was out of character for Kang Jae to just give in after 4+ years trying to forget. For me it needed one more episode or a little more conversation. But still in my top 3 Korean drama's!
I see KimuTaku is one of your favorites. I love him a lot as well. I really "enjoyed" One Million Stars Falling from the Sky. I don't know if enjoyed is the right word since the drama took me on a rollercoaster and left me speechless but it's worth putting on your ptw list if you want to see something different and know a drama is just a drama.

Hehe, yes I saw some similarities too!
For me the best was the intensity of their feelings for each other and how they couldn't express their feelings but you could still feel and see it through the looks they gave each other. Plus the drama had angsty feeling but never gave me a hopeless of frustrated feeling. I get frustrated when a drama tries to be melodramatic or angsty by putting up weird obstacles or illogical character decisions. Like immature exes who make up childish lies etc. I always wonder why the leads don't just talk to clear up misunderstandings. All the obstacles in Lovers where very logical and not overdone. Also a great plus for me was Lee Seo Jin, I really loved his character the strong and silent tough guy. Maybe he didn't have a lot of facial expressions but for me this meant his brooding looks and teary eyes had x10 impact.

Hi there, I'm just stopping by to thank you for your review on Lovers. I hadn't heard of the drama before Friday but after a crazy marathon session I'm sure I can say that its been al long time since I enjoyed a Korean drama as much as I did this one. Thanks again for bringing this one to my attention!
This was very well done! I liked the historical background of the story and with an actress like Takeuchi Yuko,…
I agree it's very well done. It doesn't capture the book completly but this is often the case with adaptations. Still doesn't deserve the low ratings. Acting by Tsumabuki Satoshi and Takeuchi Yuko is indeed great.

I loved it, it was a gem! I though I had it figured out a couple of times but it was totalu unpredictable and loved the overall atmosphere. Too bad it's only 11 eps. Going for Ryusei no Kizuna now. ;)

I have to thank you for your recommendation! Been watching every free minute and having difficulties going to bed. I'm in the drama flow again! Plus a major bonus I love the OST. Bought a Kyosuke Himuro album right away!
If I'm not mistaken he had an acting role in Fast&Furious; Tokyo Drift. :D
Couldn't agree more. And aside from his acting Akunin is a great movie. Plus just saw smuggler today. Yet again convinced me of his acting talent.

Ah thanks, yeah "I Hear Your Voice" is on my plan to watch list as well. But I've been wanting some good revenge and right now Bad Guy isn't impressing me. As far as regretting watching airing drama's I like to be completely immersed in one drama and once I start watching an airing drama and have to wait days for the next episodes I get frustrated. Watching another inbetween doesn't work for me. I guess I'm bad at focussing on more drama's at one time. Hehe It doesn't matter I've learned to wait for the final episode to air (most of the time ;)).

Thanks for the invite. I see you're watching a couple of airing drama's. Everytime I start doing that I end up regretting it. How is Shark so far I'm thinking about picking it up. :)
I'm kind of disappointed in what you said about the dramas. If you are a fan of Asian Dramas why analyse and criticize…
I think we're all here because we love drama's including these sometimes hilarious drama mysteries. Nothing wrong with looking at the drama's closely and grinning about silly things we recognize (and love) in a lot of drama's.
Her boyfriend Lee Ki Woo/Park Hyun Joong, did he make the deal with Pak Ki Woong/Hong Seok Min, to kill her and…
I believe the murdering done by Hyun Joong is not part of the curse but simply his own plotted revenge and a rather clumsy method to side track the viewer.
