Yes I know what you mean about the hyped-up drama, but usually there are some aspects of the drama which I like as well. You've seen my list, I'm not that picky. ???? I'm having trouble finishing now though. I even started watching another drama without completing this one.
Let me know what you thought of " the third M movie" when you get around to watching it. :) No rush!

Haven't seen Breathless, looks interesting. Just watched the trailer, I might add it. I'll wait for your opinion.
For Nagareboshi, don't go on my recollection alone. I actually don't remember kissing but it's just that I saw it a while ago so it might just be overshadowed in my memory by the other great things of this drama.
I'm still stuck on what to watch after IHYV. Or if I should even finish IHYV. I might go for The Lobbyist, A Man's Story, Rondo or pick up Padam Padam. Would be nice to watch something together with BF again or at least something he might be interested in. But to tell the truth I'm not quite certain yet and might get sidetracked again. :P
What's your plan, going for Nagareboshi for sure?

Ah yes Wanee and Junah, for me it was a good watch. I liked the realistic view on a relationship. Basically everything was done with great subtlety and realism. I also loved the animation and the way they incorporated the phone calls and flashbacks. Why I didn't rate it higher is maybe also because of the traits which made the movie good. It was too bland for me I wasn't swept away it was hard for me to rate though been going back and forth between 7 or 8.
Have fun tomorrow night! We just A Company Man together. Also a good watch.

IHYV. I'm not getting the hype. I'm open minded about my drama's and I don't mind the age difference theme if done well. But I'm not feeling the chemistry. Aside from that there are more important things which I find distracting. The motivation of some characters is not convincing for me which makes the storyline incredible. The attempt to make certain characters/actions funny failed in my eyes thus making it silly. Maybe I'm being too harsh but this is the 1st drama which made me feel this way. I've always been able to find something which I enjoyed about a drama. Even though it's hyped up I know a lot of people genuinely enjoyed it which makes me believe there must be something for me too. Look at my list I'm not picky. :P I'm giving it a couple of more eps. But maybe I should drop it for everyone's sake and admit that I found a drama which doesn't suit my taste at all.

Didn't have time to watch yet? ;)
For me I'm not getting the hype about IHYV yet. I'm at ep 6 now but have difficulty watching it. I don't want to give up. I keep thinking I'll get to the part which got everyone hooked soon. :-P

Pffft, obviously not a pro! Needs more practicing. ;)
I really don't get IHYV. I'm not into the characters and some actions are already illogical. This however makes me even more curious why it's such a big hit. I'll try to struggle through it some more.

Oke so update. We rewatched A Better Tomorrow tonight after getting all hyped up about it. Still a great watch but the first watch was definitely better then the second time around, this sometimes happens with me. I guess it depends on my mood at the time I watch something. ;) I think they changed the plot. :-P Ending is still very fitting though and still recommend you should watch it at least once.

I have a good friend who can't watch a shot without seeing all the cinematic techniques behind it and of course he has a opinion on everything. But it his case it gets to be annoying even for himself. I don't think you're the same way. You just have a detailed eye. ;)
I know what you mean there's a whole world opening up with a different view on various subjects and a new way of depicting emotions etc on screen. I would say not with (western) cliche's, but then again in drama world we're dealing with a whole new set of cliche's. LOL I can indeed imagine how it can improve your writing.
Do you have any films online to check out? I'm curious about your work since I love your reviews as well. They are very compelling. Praise from those who work with you and produce even must be valid. So this means watching Asian cinema is just all work related. :P

Nobody To Watch over me. Not because it's a tearjerker, but it had great acting and touched me deeply. For me it depicted each side perfectly and realistic.
Hmm heartwarming stories. With happy endings or it doesn't matter? I think Memories of Matsuko deserves a chance. I don't know if it's what you mean exactly but since you're on a movie-binge you might want to try it. Oasis was wonderful and not cliche for me. Windstruck, ...ing, Failan, A Beautiful Life (Chinese movie), Harmony. If you want happy endings then I might have to revise this short list, endings are mxied. LOL

My guess you're the same as me in that aspect. But I don't actually remember kissing in nagareboshi so I can't vouch for that. Instead it's the looks and underlying feelings which I remember. Anyway let me know how you feel about the drama when you're watching. I noticed you focus a lot on the plot as well and for me it's sometimes of lesser importance when I'm swept away by the emotions or acting.

Well let me start by it saying is a Japanese romance/family drama. :P I don't mean it bad at all but don't expect big outbursts of love. You know the Japanese. ;) Instead it's got a lot of heart, no (or at least that I can remember) annoying characters and a slow growing deep love. The characters,(not only the mains) and their development makes you feel for them.

I don't actually know your likes or dislikes or what you focus on in Japanese drama/movie world, but I really would recommend to watch this and see how you like it. You loved Prde and Orange Days as well and those are also on the top of my list.

Oh and I did watch the first ep of IHYV already but didn't do it for me yet. I'll refrain from commenting until further examination is executed. :P LOL

I set up Miracle in Cell No. 7 to watch. And I see it even made your top 5 list! ;) Today I've been crying over a movie already though so I'll go for some action first. I'll let you know how I liked it. Thanks for the tip!

I got sidetracked again. LOL Just watched Nobody To Watch Over Me and glad I did. Beautiful and makes you stop and think.
You'll love A Better Tomorrow Song Seung Hun is like 1000 times hotter in this one and don't even let me get started on Joo Jin Mo. :D
I like your recommendations and and since I go through movies like they are nothing I'll definitely add them. I actually already have Wanee & Juna on my computer!

A Better Tomorrow!! Still one of my favorites. I should rewatch it to see if it's still as good or if I have to come down from that cloud as well. :P Plus the eye candy is AMAZING! You'll love it! But yeah it certainly is a movie which will remind you of CC.
I still want to watch THV too. But I'm not in the mood for anything too artsy now.
I've seen 1,778 Stories. For me it was a beautiful movie which I maybe couldn't appreciate as much as it deserved. Can't put my finger on it but it's like my head told me it was a good movie but my heart wasn't in it as much. Couldn't tell you if it was the timing or the movie. But it certainly wasn't a bad watch so worth a go.
I'm planning on watching a few movies today (I have a day off). Either going for Choi Min Sik movies which I have a couple here on DVD or going with Miracle in Cell No. 7 which Winnie suggested (something totally different).

Well for IHYV I don't expect it to live up to the hype. But my curiosity forces me to check up on it. I want to know what everyone is going on about.
I've seen Nagareboshi although it's been a while. It was a lovely drama a great example of why Japanese drama's can be so soothing and real. You should watch it yes. Plus it's something so different from CC or Lovers you won't be constantly comparing.
The lobbyist sounds interesting! Haven't seen it but definitely worth a try. I'll put in on my PTW list as well.
For now I've made up my mind I'm going to check out IHYV plus some movies :P. No harm done if it fails to live up to expectations.

That's oké. I enjoyed it all the same. But the big question now is whats next. LOL I'm thinking about I Hear Your Voice. It's not a drama I would typically like but I'm so curious what the hype is all about. Plus if I try to find something as good as Lovers or Cruel City I might end up disappointe.

Oke so call me crazy but I started googling if he was dead or not. LOL found this [ http://forums.soompi.com/discussion/2017874/drama-2013-cruel-city-heartless-city-????/p370 ] and I choose to believe it (I know denial).
Anyway I think the question if he's dead or not is irrelevant it's about the ending overall. I would be equally or more satisfied with a different ending in which he died more logically. Not like you said in this setting where almost everyone acted out of character. Although the best of the best would be everyone living happy ever after with justice served to the baddies. LOL But it's just not that kind of drama.

Plus the emotions I went through watching it where great and put me on the 9 or 10 cloud. The imperfections you pointed out weren't bothering me while watching they only come to light now when I take a step back and talking to you. So still think it deserves my 9 in keeping me involved and entertained (Yes, I rated it again after coming down from my cruel city cloud) :P
This drama actually left me empty now. I don't know what to watch I want something equally great to let me forget this. Same with Lovers when I go romance I want something equally wonderful since that drama is also still on my mind. LOL

Oh hell I regret reading your logical break down of the plot. I have to come down from my CC-Cloud now. LOL I can't actually refute your "evidence" plot-wise. I actually did find Soo's actions in the end out of character but I explained it to myself with the thought that he in fact loved Doc a lot and didn't want to be a burden to him anymore and figured in his infinite "wisdom" but mostly stupidity that he could take care of Pusan. The ending for me didn't leave me unsatisfied. I actually convinced myself that he did survive, I mean why show him in a crowd in a shot we hadn't seen of him yet in the previous episodes. I was expecting him to be dead in the end so it's all good.

Hi how are you. I just finished watching Cruel City and I love it. Kept me on the edge of my couch and entertained every minute for 20 eps. I loved the characters. I noticed you put it on hold. Didn't grab you or just too busy with other drama's? ;)
