The drama is a masterpiece. But starting with ep 17, sadly, it has the second half syndrome, meaning it kind of gets messy and in my opinion, disappointing.
- The hurt/arching part was way too long (and the writers took the easy way out) - The actual end and the romance fell too short (last scene only) - And all around, with the author figure appearing, it just got confusing with lots of cut scenes and time skips.. My subs were kinda bad, but if I understood correctly, there were lots of questions left unanswered (why could she see the book and the author? Who was the author, why was he kinda obsessed with the FL and so on..) which was a bit unsatisfying in my opinion.
Nonetheless, amazing first half. The first part alone is worth a watch, cause the writer did such a great job with a unique storyline. And I especially liked the clever scenes in which someone finally made fun of the typical drama tropes (flower pedals in the background getting thrown by a tired maid; or the “I have to feed him medicine with my mouth” trope, which got called bullshit by FL lol)
