I think the 6.9 rating is unfair. It's not the greatest K-drama ever but I'll give it a solid 8 for watchability even after 20 years. Not all the characters are completely likable but overall I found myself rooting for most to learn and grow. Interesting also to see the 2 FLs in the spring of their careers. It is an interesting look behind the curtains at the reality of becoming a K star, although I don't know how accurate it is. Ma Sang Mi is clearly the highlight as the awkward underdog you want to see come out on top. I am not saying she does, so no spoiler alert...I still have 4 episodes to go.

Son Ye Jin (eye candy) is the only reason to watch. Stupid plot. I am not sure ML has hit puberty. Bizarre.

Umm 95% of comedy is lightly picking on various groups and stereotypes. If you are enjoying your purity spiral, more power to you. I reject your claim that I should be addressing racism. Not interested. An entire industry of think tanks, university departments, and tone policing media takes care of that for us, much so on our dime. The word has ceased to have any meaning of import thanks to the whole movement becoming a pursuit of gov funding and corporate cash flow. Who do you think actually sets these standards? Why did they build up the chef's courting Sam Soon's unnie seemingly for nothing??? That was a bummer. I was crazy about Sam Soon. Male lead was a tool throughout though. She should have moved on.

Same here. Probably won't watch. She is so funny with her accent. I don't know Korean well enough to understand what's going on with that accent, but it's still funny.

I am loving this show. Lots of funny moments. I am crushing hard on Oh Na Ra. Phew.

This is definitely a slow roll. I watched in Korean, but there is clearly a lot I missed. I guess I didn't pick up on a lot of the nuance that so many here were moved by. There are a lot of likeable characters and a lot of intimate, meaningful dialogue. There is almost no plot at all other than a few events here and there punctuating 16 episodes. I don't think I'd watch this again, although maybe when I'm more fluent I could give it another try. I guess I can't fully judge it due to lack of full comprehension.

If you dig hack n slash knife fights with lots of tissue-slicing / blood-oozing sound effects, you are going to LOVE this show.

I liked the actress. She comes across as just this side of sane in her quest for vengeance.

Yeah, I agree but they killed her (the only redeeming character) off quite unexpectedly and bizarrely 2/3rds of the way through the movie. :(
