I've watched all of Lee Chang Dong's directorial films, from Green Fish to Burning. Lee Chang Dong is truly a master of his craft and one of the greats of the Korean new wave of film.
I just want to say I have much more respect for Kim Go Eun after seeing this film.
Kim Go Eun does a nude scene in this film and it does take a certain level of confidence to be part of a project that asks you to do that. I'm not a woman, but I can definitely respect any actor or actress that finds the courage to do so for the sake of the script. I'm sure she had her reasons and I'm not one to judge.
Burning is a slow-burn masterpiece. It's enigmatic and well shot. Truly one of the best films I've seen and probably my favorite Lee Chang Dong film.
