Nah when she held him in a chokehold i lost my shit goddame 😂😂, this drama is giving fight for my way vibes…
I agree! It is so much like FFMW! Plus, I love the childhood secret crush trope even though sometimes the "suddenly discovered" childhood connection often bothers me too.
I have been meaning to get into Turkish dramas and have only watched Cesur ve Guzel. Can you recommend your top…
Sadly, I haven't watched that many that I absolutely love, but "Ask Mantik Intikam" is definitely one to watch if you enjoyed Cunning Single Lady. The storyline is developed further and I liked the energy between the couple. I also don't find the FL so unlikeable or question her motives about why she chose to leave her husband in the first place. Because it was longer, there was more opportunity to flesh out their backstory.
My absolute favourite is "Love For Rent" which was my gateway drama to Turkish dramas. The leads are gorgeous (especially Baris Arduc) and even the side characters grow on you. It's long, but so good!!! I'm embarrassed to say how many times I've rewatched this... It's THAT good! (available on YouTube with English subtitles)
"Daydreamer" was pretty good too. Many love this one because the couple actually got together after filming. Not sure if they're still together. It's definitely cute.
There are so many reasons why I love this drama. I did have to ff through all of the father's lost sibling story, but for the most part this is my k-comfort-drama and I've watched it so many times.
The Yoon brothers interactions are the most hilarious part of this series. I love the way the 2 very different brothers play off one another. Brilliant casting and excellent writing here. I could watch them arguing over and over again and still not get tired of them.
Although the dr couple are my favourite couple, I can't help falling for Dahee and dentist too. They are just so gosh darn cute...and I love how much the dentist gushes over her (probably because she was treated so horrifically by her 1st husband).
FYI: Found the 2022 Turkish remake of this and it's even better than the original (which I loved when I first watched it). It's a lot longer and the story is expanded and developed further, but if you enjoy this trope, you'll love this remake. I'm rewatching it. It's that good! The characterization is excellent and the depth of the leads' emotion is explored so well.
Drama Name: Ask Mantik Intikam. It's available with English subs on a site called Turkish Masa.
Agree! It's really not very good largely because of the FL was so emotionless. What's with them never really giving each other a kiss either. We see back of a head presuming their kissing or lips on a cheek or forehead that don't even pucker. So strange... and the ending is just ridiculous.
loved this drama!!! now i need something else to watch. Does anyone have any recommendations?
i recommend "Go Ahead". If you like found family dramas and hidden love (ironic I know), this can't be missed. It's a beautiful watch and you will be so impressed by the acting.
To me, it doesn't have the emotional depth of Hidden Love. It is sweet and I do recommend watching it but I found…
Have you tried "Go Ahead"? I think that's a masterpiece! I can see how the 50 episodes would turn people off, but it is such a beautiful, rich story of found family and hidden love (ironically) that I can't recommend it enough. Plus, the acting is exemplary.
I know some people found this not too stimulating, but I absolutely loved this Cdrama and the way the 2 leads love one another. In my opinion, this rang true to me. This isn't "fluffy" given the severity of the dangers and injuries shown, but it made my cold heart feel warm and glowy. Additionally, even the secondary characters came to matter to me which always indicated that this is a well developed story. (My only reservation is the passionless "hot" kisses between the leads, but I believe this was perhaps a director's suggestion because I understand the leads - the ML in particular - has had some pretty hot and heavy love scenes considering Cdramas don't typically show intense passion)
Kim Won Hae is the funniest part of this drama in my opinion. He's simply hilarious. I liked the characters Professor Hwang and Kim Gi Beom too. The main lead romance is irksome and so unbelievable. They both would have been better off not together.
He is so incredibly charming in The Love You Give Me. The range and depth of emotions is so incredible to watch. He's also a master of comedic timing. I've only seen him in OWGM and this, but I look forward to seeing him in much more.
