My absolute favourite character in Bo Ra and definitely the funniest part of the show. What great comedic talent...and even the more dramatic moments were well played.
The acting was good and the main couple's story was well written and entertaining. However a major mistep was…
I agree with pretty much everything you've written here. Yet, I absolutely loved this drama...it jolted me out of a kdrama slump so I appreciate it perhaps more than I would have otherwise.
I agree the sister's storyline seemed silly and underdeveloped. The fact that both these rather aimless young people are going to have a child screams irresponsible to me and there is no clue how they will carry on and make adult choices given what we know of them. I found both characters adorable, but nowhere near ready to be parents.
The CEO's story really irked me. Like you, I would much rather he delved into repairing the relationship with his ex now that they had a better understanding of one another. They needn't have ended up together, but it was clear there was unfinished business there and layers of their relationship that was worth exploring. Him exploring a relationship with the young office worker just seems silly given how young and naive the girl is.
The best friend's character was one of my favourites. She was so funny (I laughed and rewatched Bo Ra's and her in the gym over and over) and I so wanted her to step away from her marriage or at least show that there was a definitive need to fix the husband's apathy towards her and her needs.
I'm not necessarily a fan of the FL like most others are nor do I know anything at all about the ML never having seen him before, yet the two of them just made so much sense together. I was so drawn to their coming together and their character arc really drew me in.
I realize this drama is plagued with tropes and characters who really bother me, but it's still my go-to drama when I'm in a slump. I can't even count how many times I've rewatched this. I love how the ML is so open about his need for the FL. Their chemistry sustains me - even in the last 2 or 3 episodes which were a bit of a mess plot-wise.
First episode was alright, didn't really hook me. Does it get better as it goes on?
I'm late to reply, but just in case you did drop it I want to let you know this drama definitely does get better. In my opinion, the chemistry between the leads was always good, but their story gets significantly better as it unfolds. I'm rewatching and plan to rewatch again with my family. The acting is top notch as well. It's no wonder so many in this show have gone on to the popularity and heights they have. It's no accident.
Just watched the 1st episode and my god I wasn't prepared for this. That episode made me think that MDL should…
You must have watched it fully by now. The laughs just keep on coming with this one. I'm on my second re-watch after years of watching it for the first time and I'm crying at how hilarious some of the scenes are.
For you who watched this drama and the taiwanese drama ”In Time With You”, which friends-to-lovers did it…
I have to say I like this friends to lovers pairing better than the Taiwanese drama "In Time With You". (by the way, I like the Japanese remake of that drama better than the Taiwanese original, but the Korean remake left me disappointed)
What I love about Dong Ma and Ae Ra is how funny and authentic they were with one another. That helped me invest in their pairing more. I understood why they would stay close to each other and watch them with other people romantically because at the core was this deep bond that was quirky, supportive and funny and not just a longing for the other person.
Began this early today and the bingefest was on! I was feeling miserable with a sore throat and runny nose (thankfully just a cold) so this was a perfect way to pass time and not focus on how yucky I was feeling.
This was also one of the few dramas I watched without ff anything at all. Lately I seem to do that a lot, but I really was immersed in this hilarious romp of a love story.
Dropped at ep 16. I guess this could be a feel good drama but it feels like nothing is happening and it's very…
Good call on dropping it. I hung around for the ML only since I thought he was adorable, but I didn't understand his interest in the FL whatsoever. He had so many more dimensions to his character than she did...and even at the end the story & complication seemed undeveloped. I was really disappointed in this.
I loved his acting and character in Go Ahead, it was easily one of my favorite father characters.
I agree! His story was compelling and his love for his children was selfless and lovely. Watching him now in a much lesser role in Lighter and Princess. He's a father in this too and seems to be just as caring. He truly is a wonderfully warm actor
Like so many others have suggested, this should be rated much higher and be getting loads more attention. I believe that had the title not been so vague and innocuous, people may have been more prone to watch this.
Seriously...watch this if you haven't. Particularly if you need to laugh and appreciate office situated dramas.
Good drama but I hated Mirae character , or maybe it was her acting not sure but she's getting on my nerve .
I agree. I'm about halfway through, but that's certainly enough to suggest her acting isn't great in this. Perhaps it was just a difficult role for her to play. I haven't seen her before in anything, but here she's either stiff or annoying syrupy. I don't like her character at all and have a hard time understanding how the ML suddenly realized he loves her...
This literally is among the first cdramas I've watched and easily the best one in my opinion. I realize the story is somewhat cliche and it's not deep by any means, but the leads are adorable and their every interaction is pretty sweet. The open affection between them and repeated kissing helps too. I originally scored this as an 8.5/10, but I've upped my ranking to a perfect score which is only right given how often I return to this drama. (I must be honest though... I don't enjoy the FL's sister's love story and her friends' are sort of "meh', but I've learned to ff through it) ;)

He's made comments like this more than once apparently. I hope he's evolved a bit since then
(If you read further down, you'll see quotes from him where he's pretty big-headed and hateful about women's looks. Yuck!)
