“Dark clouds cannot hide the sun” “Don’t look back” “Not me but yourself. You have the power" - Duan Wu
May Duan Wu's words bring strength to those who need them. Even when life’s hardships cast shadows, trust in your own light and have the courage to move forward. Believe in yourself, take bold steps, and remember that the power to create change lies within you.
Wow, thanks so much for your contribution! Every comment—yep, even YOURS—contributes to the overseas fan visibility and support of Zhao Lusi’s drama! (You see, we ultimately see the number of comments made, not what is in them.) So, on behalf of Zhao Lusi's fans, we genuinely appreciate you for helping make it more successful. Keep up the good work! You are doing more than some of us fans!!
Just appreciating the fact that this comment section is alive!!🤣 Watching the drama and being able to read what others feel about the episode make it more fun really
I don't get why Duanwu's mother refused to leave with her. Yes, it provided an emotional scene but still...
hahaha, okay, so I might give a more serious answer. If I recall correctly, Duanwu's mother is an accountant for the Cui family, which means she likely knows many of their secrets. With the Cui family under scrutiny from the palace, if she and Duanwu were to run away, it would force their pursuers to invest more effort into the chase, as both their lives and the family’s secrets would be at risk. In contrast, Duanwu is just a pearl diver so Cui family likely wont search for her that intensely?
Some may disagree, but I found it compelling how the show exposed the harsh realities among the pearl divers—already marginalized and labeled as society’s lowest—where instead of solidarity among the divers, internal power struggles prevails. that even in this oppressed group, male servants can exert power over female ones.
Lulu also felt like a poignant foil to Duanwu, embodying two contrasting ideas of freedom. To me, Lulu is a character who has been shaped by a lifetime of oppression and has internalised how limited the chance of her freedom is. To her, she believed her fate ultimately depended on the mercy of those with power. For her, freedom might be a distant dream or illusion. Meanwhile, Duanwu embodies defiance, seeing freedom as something to claim, to fight for, and to resist for at all costs.
Seems like Lusi will always have FL centered work onwards bcs of her cafe position. Which means she will get to…
Yeah, it gets really messy when it involves positions in cdramas which often leads to fanwars. I really like her taking more female central roles because it really helps makes more memorable characters.
https://www.jjwxc.net/onebook.php?novelid=627133 This is probably a prequel to the pearl curtain and jade drama (i don't think there is any English translation yet) , however the drama itself will still be largely original since this is only 10 chapters
Is there any official announcement /statement from the crew I am getting confused with all the runours about her…
No official statement yet. This melon was shared by her weibo fan who have a large following so it feels kinda reliable? Usually melon that are from twitter melon accounts just share without checking how reliable it might be.
And jade curtain is basically the one most weibo fans expect her to shoot.
It seems for jade curtain the crew have started to open audition for supporting roles. (Melon about casting is sometimes released late, and they may have the supporting cast already set). Said to be starting in end of September, in Hengdian and Xiangyang
It's really petty of some users for giving HL or WIFTY 1 star just to lower the ratings of both dramas (if someone…
Though I doubt they will, I wish they could see that spreading such toxicity would benefit no one on this platform. Instead, viewers who are merely looking for objective opinions on which dramas to watch will be subjected to reviews that are unduly biased and malicious ( they do not watch the drama but rate it out of just pure malice).
Does anyone knows what happened to jade curtain bead curtain drama..i heard it has run into some issues and lusi…
Basically, I don't trust MDL's listing of dramas because it is often inaccurate and I have no idea why they removed it when it is likely the drama that she will shoot. I heard that they might start shooting in September but as for the male lead I have really no idea who might they be.
I thought it was intriguing that most of the hidden loved audience shown in the final data was 20+. Many people first assumed that since the novel's audience was mostly elementary school students it would be the same for drama adaptation. But the data demonstrate how incorrect that assumption was. I felt that the novel was successfully adapted for the screen, and the cast did a great job making their characters loveable, despite initial doubts.
Now Sang Zhi has become another recognizable character for Zhao Lusi, and I hope to continue to see more characters that I will love ( and I'm not referring to the character having the greenest personality, but rather how memorable these characters are).
What I enjoy about the drama is how simple it is, yet how soothing, warm, and nostalgic it is. And, in my opinion, it is the type of drama that you want to see after a hard or long day navigating our occasionally overly complicated lives. 😊
From what I read from the melon owner, it seems this script was passed to her, but we don't know yet if she would…
and the drama is a 2 male-lead drama, so I'm not sure what her character would be like in the story, but anyways, I'm quite happy that she got such a melon with a really respectable director .
🍉 Another drama rumor from Tencent:Zhang Yumou's directed online drama "League of Legends" and Zhang Yimou…
From what I read from the melon owner, it seems this script was passed to her, but we don't know yet if she would accept it (I felt it is quite true tbh, because it was the same melon owner who told about Wang Anyu becoming the male lead for Shenyin). E-sports themes can be particularly tricky to handle because many fans from the e-sports community often find issues with e-sports dramas. That being said, Zhang Yimou is a respectable director in cdrama, and it would help her gain experience and connections
